What would you have, LFA or Carrera GT? 👇
CGT😀
I don't even think twice the LFA is one of Best Supercars ever built, in every aspect they went to a detail that is very hard to beat. I agree the gearbox could be faster, it's a shame because the engine needs a digital cluster otherwise the needle wouldn't hold on to the speed of reving and it's limited in rpm it could go more than 10000 RPM. It's a true masterpiece in every sense. Plus it has the Nürburgring Edition which is the Pinnacle. Thanks for doing this Review it couldn't get better.
Lfa for me. 😁
Hands down LFA
As cool as the LFA is, this is an easy choice: CGT. Stick shift and mid engine, while having similar low inertia, crazy throttle response, etc to the LFA V10 (and a similarly amazing noise).
“Maybe the LFA is so good, not even the people who made it, know how to make it again” - Jeremy Clarkson
I remember that one lmao it was the best car Lexus has ever made
Nostalgia
It was so good, Toyota even forgot how to make a new Supra. So they asked BMW to do that for them.
@@electrikoptik the b58 ain’t that bad. So good they asked Yamaha for help
@@stevenp3176 I know Yamaha are experts and know they are doing
The V10 was co-developed with Yamaha which makes it not only an engine, but also a music instrument
Also Toyota turned to Yamaha for the Celica 2000 GT engine
Well they also worked on 1JZ and 2JZ....
@@arzemagic 2ZZ-GE 😈
I said this on a different forum about the LFA and Yamaha and got absolutely rip shredsAnd it was all Toyota and Yamaha only tuned the exhaust
They did a lot more than just the exhaust on the LFA :)
Lexus needs to know their investment in the production of this car was not in vain. A truly iconic car.
Wait til you see what we have coming out this year 😏
@@Frost640 lies. Toyota is finished in the performance car market.
@@Frost640 Let me guess. Some souless battery powered junk? As a fan of F1 in the V10 era, no road car will compare to the sound the LFA makes.

When LFA was built, it was way ahead of its time people didn't know how to appreciate it.
The issue was people always look at numbers, LFA was designed to make you feel something more then numbers.
@@MaddNomad1015 it's sad really, even top journalists and reviewers say some cars are slow when it's not about the speed. It's the reason I like the lexus lc500 but others do not.
It's downfall was it's delayed release
Any fan of the LFA knows it’s the exact opposite, it was so delayed that the competition was way ahead of it when it released, that’s literally the reason they sold poorly
True. It has many setbacks that delayed it. It is true also it wasn't appreciated enough then and only now, so in a way, it was ahead of its time in a different tone. Ppl then didn't know it was special but only until today
I haven't driven a CGT, but I have driven an LFA...on track...and I can tell you, NO VIDEO will do what this car sounds like outside and definitely will NEVER replicate the experience of the sound inside. I've driven Ferrari's, Lambo's, Porsches and I can tell you, the noise inside...the feel inside of this car...it's unreal. Jeremy Clarkson was asked years later if his statement "It's the best car I've ever driven" held true and he said yes. They really executed something magical with this car, and everyone in the media got sidetracked by the transmission upshift. These cars are unreal in person, to drive, experience and be inside of....
i think videos catch it very well. maybe your feelings are otherwise, but videos especially high quality ones do well.
If you don't get goosebumps hearing the sound of this car, you're not a car guy!

@@scd very rare to have a youtube channel that are genuinely passionate about cars and plus knows what they are talking about. As an automtive engineer purist i guess it gets very annoying when theres a bunch of youtubers that are following certain hypes yet they dont know what they are talking about. All i can say is, wow to that lfa video.
Exactly 😊
The fact that Lexus had to design and build brand new 3D carbon fiber weaving machines from the ground up just to build this car has always blown my mind. The scale of engineering that went into this car is vastly understated.
They didn't necessarily have to, but it was a passion project for Toyota and the family got started making cotton gins and weavers so it was a natural historical extension for them to do the same for carbon fiber.
There's only 2 of those in the world
Such a pure sound. The most refined engine in the world. Must be so therapeutic to drive. Front engined supercars are special, but with only 500 of these sold world wide makes them really special.

The channel "Savagegeese" did a great LFA video too.

This was such a GREAT review!! The LFA is an amazing investment too
Wanted to hear a LFA as it's been a while, this video is perfect. Great video, awesome opinion, showing small details which makes or breaks a car experience. Excellent mic, camera work, music choice and editing :)
Really appreciate comments like this. We put a lot of work into our videos - glad you're enjoying them!
This was a suggestion by YT and I have never watched any of your videos before. Just wanted to say your review and enthusiasm made me think you really well deserve all those cars. Not many appreciate them as our creations, but merely as a tool or a commodity.
Outstanding video , it goes without saying the exhaust sounds amazing , I’ve heard it in countless other videos
However this is the first time I’ve heard that induction noise ,sounds absolutely incredible !!
Thanks for watching ✌️

The LFA makes one of the most incredible noises. It’s a very very cool thing and the rarity just adds to that.

The issue is hes always serious, for someone to be a top gear presenter you need a touch of comedy too
savagegeese have done an incomparable technical review
the downshift scream, best eargasm ever
This is such a special car that it completely transcends its spec sheet. I have been blessed to have driven one and it is something you will never forget as a car person.
Everyone knows that they sound like at 7000+ RPM, and we know that will be properly exciting, but what I wasn't prepared for is just how very special the LFA feels at ANY speed. Although I love Japanese cars for their quality and style, this car conveys that taken to an altogether different level. It's somewhat as if when you interact with the switch gear that you can actually feel how long and hard they worked on each individual part, and that has a profound effect on the overall feeling of the car. You know without a doubt that many of the parts (most) in the LFA were built specifically for this model, whereas it would have been quite easy to share parts across the bin with other Toyota products.
The LFA is a true master class in automobile engineering, and they sweat every detail. Everything works together in order to make the car even greater than the sum of its mighty parts, and the engine is a subject all unto itself. As this video did a great job presenting, the engine is sublime at every RPM, and never lets you down whatsoever. The sounds it makes and the accessibility of the experience make this car even more special than the mighty Carrera GT, which doesn't suffer fools in the least. The LFA is actually eager to share what it can do with the driver, giving less capable drivers the chance to explore more of its impressive abilities.
I remember reading the reviews from journalists when this car was new and they mostly missed the mark entirely, focusing on its raw numbers and statistics. Even I made the mistake of dismissing the LFA at the time, thinking it was ridiculous that a $350k+ Japanese car would be out-gunned by a 'pedestrian' $100k Nissan GT-R. But, after having driven the LFA I can tell you that they were all wrong. There is nothing ordinary about driving an LFA and I can assure you that you won't care AT ALL if you're not the fastest car on the road. This is a car for the all-time greatest hits play book of automotive engineering, from any time, at any price. As they say about living on the water, if you're lucky enough to own an LFA, then you're lucky enough.
The LFA is a true automotive icon that will stand the test of all time.
Thanks for the content, there is definitely not enough content of this masterpiece on youtube!

I hope Lexus continues creating more pure sport, supercar and maybe hypercars in the future. Toyota's racing world pedigree is as high as any and think they could make some awesome products. WE NEED MORE V8/10/V12'S IN THIS WORLD OF EV'S! :D

I do love how enthusiastic Charles gets about the cars he drives. How knowledgable he is about them, and yet at the same time, his presentation tends to be more as if he were explaining it to you down the pub, rather than as a journo, which - as wonderful and brilliant as Catchpole etc’s vids are - gives the videos a slightly different, almost refreshing feel.
Obviously the fact the LFA is such an iconic and emotive car is a massive bonus, too...
Agree, man. Fully agree. This guy's narrative of this film & Henry Catchpole's videos & narratives are so captivating & involving. Absolutely brilliant.
