  • DISCLAIMER: The following video contains short graphic images of blood.
It happens to about half the population. For an average of 6.25 years. Do you know what we’re talking about? Start a conversation. Let’s talk. Period.
We collected these interviews from our friends, family and friends of friends, in order to discuss the topic of menstruation, get a realistic outlook on how people feel about having these discussions, not just with us but with their partners, family and friends. It was super fun and eye-opening to hear from individuals from all scopes of life, with ages varying from 17 to 60, and over 10 different countries.
We tackled a few questions such as:
Why do we consider periods to be a taboo topic?
Where does the word taboo come from?
    What is period poverty?
How can we help make this a more comfortable and open topic?
Karam and I worked on this video way back when we first met, maybe even it’s the reason we’re together today! But that’s a story for another day - or video ;)

Amazing mini documentary. Love the topic. Love the edit. I came across you channel through your Algonquin series. I just recently did a three night camp at Opeongo lake and have since become fascinated with backcountry camping. Then I checked out your channel and your other videos. I can’t understand how you don’t have more subscribers. You make really good videos. I will be posting my first Algonquin video on my channel tomorrow. I’m not as good as a film maker as you but I like to say I am a decent content creator. Struggling to even get at 500 subscribers is frustrating. I hope you keep making films. BTW, you guys are so cute together. All the best!

Love that you re-uploaded this video n your channel. Also really love the little pieces of paper with facts on that you made them read and then document everyone's reaction. Brilliant.

Thanks! it just made sense that the first video Elena and I ever created needed to live on our joined channel :) A little outdated but still super relevant and important!

Congratulations on creating this vid which I hope reaches all those affected enough to make a difference. My only knowledge of it was whilst married, experiencing a total change in character from my then wife. Easy for me as, once I understood, I just stayed out the way; not so easy for her to go through that periodically though. Well done guys. X
