I remember when I was a deckhand on the Mississippi Queen in 77 John used to ride the boat to get steering time and he would bring a piece of plywood and tap dance and sing on it while he steered. He used to hang out and party with the crew and play for us.

I will always regret not seeing John Hartford in concert! I know he was a wonderful soul. When I feel down, I know I will feel better after finding him on CZcams. Doing that now, nearly 2 A.M., April 10, 2020, while self-isolated due to COVID-19 pandemic. Godspeed to all! 🙏🏻

An American treasurer, first learned about him as a boy in 1970 watching the Glen Campbell show. Got to see him at Clarion State College in 1980.....great show and everyone loved him. A pure talent, very cool, kinda James Dean like persona. Miss him very much.

Riverboat music is very calming and normally with a great story behind the song. Wonderful!

I was fortunate to see him perform twice. Once at The Bottom Line in NYC and the best time was at a small club in NJ called The Stanhope House. I got to speak with him a little bit after the show. A really nice guy and an incredible performer.

When I seen John in concert, I got his autograph on a couple of CDs. His autograph was calligraphy that he did, very neat. On one CD it looks like it is part of the CD cover artwork. Yes, I miss him.

I discovered John in the late '70s. I really like the look he adopted later on. The bowler hat, the white shirt and black vest, red tie, black slacks and black and white shoes. It really fit the style of music he played.

It took me a week of staying up past my bedtime on FaceTube to start to understand what I'd missed by not paying attention to John Hartford's music while he was here. Thank you for posting this beautiful document.

It is no longer in production but he managed to get his hands on a sealed copy of it and recorded it off the very first play which is why this is such good quality.
Ask around you may get lucky
