Ghee - The Ultimate Superfood

- Ghee is butter that has been simmered for about a half hour to evaporate out the water and skim off the dairy solids which float to the top and bottom of the pot. The end product transforms the original butter into a very important compound which we should all include in our diets. The video shows how once butter is clarified, it can easily absorb into our cells, and not clog the arteries, unlike the dangerous vegetable oils which form a plastic when heated.
In fact, ghee contains such beneficial nutrients that it can actually prevent any plaque from building up in the walls of the arteries. And even more.
Outlined in the video are some other amazing benefits of ghee: it contains both butyric and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) which are important for gut health and muscle strength. Most people may have heard of butyric acid and CLA. This video gives an excellent explanation as to what they actually do in the body.
In addition to butyric acid and CLA, the ancient doctors of India stated that women who eat ghee would be highly fertile (we now know the female hormones that make you fertile are made out of cholesterol) and children who grew up eating ghee would be highly intelligent (the brain needs a constant source of cholesterol in order to function properly).
Eating ghee in the diet is one of the most important things you can do for your health. If you are looking for a superfood like everyone else these days, this is it!

Finally someone on CZcams that knows exactly what their talking about ! Thank you so much for providing clarity about Ghee and dispelling so many myths about healthy dairy. Excellent.

The butter the ghee is made from contains the same if not more vits

She does not know. She’s wrong. Her Sanskrit is off and our ghee today is pasteurized. It does not have the properties of ancient ghee. She quotes from the ancient scriptures which are correct but not in our world unless you make your own ghee from unpasteurized milk.
I live in Sydney and I use Aussie grassfed cow ghee ,never going back to seed oils !.thanks doc!
You must be rich, I'm using Aldi butter for 95% of cooking for the last 15 years. Is it that different?

Why do need a white person to tell you about your own food? Why do we , brown skin people, seek their validation? Is it because of colonial rule or an innate inferiority complex and therefore hoisting a white person to high pedestal?
Clogged arteries are not caused by animal fats, its from sugar in the carbohydrates.
And seed oils
It is well pointed out.
You need to refer to Dr Caldwell Esselstyn’s (America’s Leading Director of Heart Disease i Cleveland) research - the only independent medically peer reviewed accepted research in how to reverse heart disease via a dietary regime - you’re correct about sugar & oils do the same - this video is marketing ad for Ghee
Even if this is a commercial, it still gives great ideas.
I started my home made Ghee.
Very easy to do, just takes time.
So you decide what to put on your plate having the knowledge she told you.

Thankyou DrMarianne Ghee in warm milk is recommended in ayurveda, so healthy and very good for expecting mothers, Love All Serve All❤🙏🙏
Great information, we in india thought that ghee is our problem… but it was vegetable oils that started flooding markets in late 70ties . Ghee has always been promoted by Ayurveda and traditional people. Old people in villages still prefer Ghee and living much healthier than city people. Also one smart trick to transfer Ghee benefits to entire body quickly is given in Aurvedic treatment , applying Ghee to neval with gentle message in nighttime just before sleeping… next day wash clean. It works wonders for health and nervous system…
Correct. And rich and powerful interests will continue to push the destructive lies. It's not the West, our original diets were very healthy. It's greed driven by mega corporations
veggies oil starting to spread to SE Asia too and now we're having health issue. Japan start having cancer and diabetes now that people start using olive oil. Government need to step in and ban this synthetic garbage.
I lived at an ashram for 25 years and studied some Ayurveda plus Sanskrit, Yantra painting, Indian music, Kathak dancing. I love India since I was 8. I’m now 74. Namaste. 🙏🏼 om Shantih
I absolutely love ghee. I use it everyday. I have a severe casein and whey allergy, but ghee I do just fine with. I don't use any seed or vegetable oils. I don't eat any ultra or processed foods. I feel like i different person. 37 and feel so much more healthy and in better shape then ever in my life. I feel lied to my the med community about nutrition and diet.
Yes there is so much profit and incentive by the food and pharmaceutical industries to keep us fat and sick, otherwise the medical mafia wouldn’t have any customers
they did lie to us. For decades in my life they told us margarine was more healthy than butter. I'm pretty sure that's what killed my father who was a very strong man and didn't have any bad habits he could've lived another couple of decades
You never hear a nutritionist or Dr tell you the truth cause if everyone was healthy, They wouldn’t have a job. It’s said we have been lied to for years and programmed to except this culture of bad processed foods. Sugars and seed oils are the two things hurting this country along with the dishonest Drs.
Thanks for sharing this knowledge. My grandma is more than 100 years old and she takes desi ghee in every meal including in her tea.
That's no coincidence 🙏
In tea? How
In her tea? Does she use like butter?
@@annalohar3977 we add 1 tea spoon of ghee in her prepared tea. That prevents dryness because tea absorbs moisture from the body.

People commenting on how bad cholesterol aren't watching the whole video. Cholesterol is a very important hormone that your body requires for life. Just stop with the cholesterol fear mongering..
Yep.
Firstly, I agree that cholesterol is important to have and is not the evil it's been made out to be. However,....
Just because it's important and we can't live without it, that doesn't mean we can't get too much of it. It's disingenuous when people say we need cholesterol so it's not harmful. Not true. There's such a thing as too much of a good thing. For example, we need fat. But is it OK to wolf down fatty foods without caution?
Secondly, it is NOT a hormone. It is important for the formation of hormones but is not itself a hormone! So please don't say it's a hormone.
Ghee contains high levels of bad oxidised cholesterol.
Yes there is good and bad cholesterol
No there isnt. All cholesterol is good, if it hasn't been corrupted by seed oils and sugars.@free_spirit111
I am 72 and you just told me for the first time about Ghee. I will have to investigate.
What are you talking about ?
Have you ever heard of clarified butter ?
Western countries have been using it for at least 200 years.
Wake up and smell the coffee !
@@Nel33147 Only the restaurant industry used it as "butter oil". It was never sold to consumers in Western countries probably due to the additional cost and abundance of cheaper and more profitable animal fats like lard and tallow.
@@Nel33147 Thank you. Now I'm hip. Gonna check it out. "Clarified Butter".
Do investigate. I'm not saying this lady is wrong about ghee (she's probably exaggerating greatly) but she's not a real doctor, she is a chiropractor who does traditional medicine. Don't take anything she says at face value. Even in the first few minutes of this video, she said a few glaringly untrue things.
@@DKMTS I must investigate; yes. I have already forgotten what the supposed health benefits are, but the first impetus of every living creature is to seek good for itself, and we are no different.
My doctor has me scared to death that I'm going to drop dead any minute of a stroke or a heart attack because my cholesterol is somewhat high. She's upset with me because I refuse to go on a statin drug. I've amped up my diet to high fats, meat, very low/no carb, eliminated all processed foods and seed oils - so we'll see. Sadly, I saw firsthand over the years what a very low fat diet and statin drugs did to family members and I refuse to go that route.
Same. Quit smoking too
Stick to your guns. You can get a CAC and an LDL particle size test.
Don't let their fear of lost profits become your worry ❤
Don't be bullied!! They hate anything that's healthy or preventative ....
You are doing the right thing. You absolutely do not need statins
I wish good health foods weren't so expensive.
I’ve had severe ulcerative colitis and one of the only fats I can consume is ghee. I can eat spoonfuls of it. I can’t do that with any other fat, even coconut oil. The butyrate in the ghee also helps to soothe inflammation in my large intestine
I’m also severely lactose intolerant but do fine with ghee
@@SierraGax I was wondering about that as I am severely intolerant to dairy . Thank you!
Tallow?
Please use red cabbage juice or green cabbage juice 4 ur gut lining as it has glutamine which heals the gut. Glutamine & butyric acid (ghee) are needed 2 heal the gut. That's why our Lord Krishna (Hindu God) loved ghee so much.😊
She is an Amazing Doctor - Ayurveda REIGNS SUPREME!!
100% agree❤🙏
Quack quack... she's a duck.
Pure fiction lol
Doctor, you are voice of sanity in a world with much confusing dietary advice. It can drive you nuts if you try to understand health. E.g. Saturated fat is bad, but keto is good. Sugar is bad, but fruits are good. Grains are bad, but sweet potato is good. Thanks for taking time and sharing timeless insights. Blending science with ancient wisdom.
Right that is the key..the combination of new and old. The new science and technology that's allowed us to really see how things effect our mind and body, see truth really. Helping us to go back to our roots and basically trust the common sense...clearing out the fog/main stream junk has been blocking our minds. Let us access the ancient wisdom we all know is right and we all seek but didn't know where to look, while it's been deep down already in us just suppressed for so long by the chemicals and toxins FDA feeds us. Im so thankful to of been raised with a lot of this knowledge being a foundation my Mama gave for my siblings and I.
This lovely lady is a true friend of humanity.
next best maybe you
Due to my ignorance I always associate Ghee with Indian food. We have been using Ghee for cooking and olive oil. Due to your info which I am so grateful for, we happily use Ghee daily.
Please let me know where l can buy ghee?
@@henryalalamuasr2648Walmart and Amazon sells it.Lots of groceries stores sells it👍
I made a batch of cultured Ghee yesterday. Bought some organic whipping cream, turned it into yogurt overnight, cooled it and churned it into butter which I then cooked into Ghee. It seems like a long process but once you do it once or twice it becomes a habit. Thanks Dr. T for reminding me of all its amazing benefits.
I ❤ ghee I just finish making today ❤ from Malaysia
How did u churn the the butter? Blender?
Very smart way to make ghee 👍
Ghee and butter tastes heavenly 😋
I live in Ohio, USA. I make my own (Desi) ghee from butter. I don’t heat butter to evaporate water. In fact, I heat it just enough to melt the butter and then I decant ghee and other solids (protein)to separate them from water. Then I boil the ghee along with solids, just enough to coagulate the solids and then cool the mixture to a temperature where the container feels warm to touch. Then I filter the solids out and save the ghee. In this method, the ghee is not continuously heated to burn off the water and is prevented from oxidation.
I knew there has to be a better way than keep boiling it, I just didn't know how. Thank you for this. Although I'm a little confused about your 2nd step The decanting to separate them from water. So are you saying after you melt the butter & decanting it actually seperates from the water on its own? You then drain that water off & boil as you mentioned. Please respond as I'm really trying to learn. Thank you so much for your comment above. Oh another question DO you use unsalted or salted butter does it make a difference
Worst explanation ever
can you explain how you make butter?
That’s not ghee that’s duplicate or first copy of ghee , actual ghee is made from cows fresh milk from bilona method
@@krishnaverma2603 Yeah thats why i asked how they make butter
I find ghee, butter and animal fats are very satiating. This, along with a very low carb diet and plenty of sun has improved my quality of life. Its very hard to overcome the built in fear over animal fats, but ultimately this fear was built on a foundation of flawed understanding.
...and on a powerful foundation of propaganda since WWII for the purpose of selling and profiting from the newly invented seed oils. We were told they were good for our health and animal fats were bad and would give us heart attacks, when precisely the reverse is true. Always about money, never about our health.
I've been on ghee and butter since covid era and now on high salt and potassium diet. I couldn't be any happier. Recently I switch to grassfed butter after seeing comparison of grassfed version. Covid is great for my family because we've more free time to research the internet, mainly ytube. Thank you for you ghee video. I didn't know there's a super ghee.
Not sure about the "high Salt" thing, how much though is too much?
@@adoreslaurel Just search ytube the benefit of salt/potassium. It actually lower your blood pressure, assumed that you not eating unsaturated seed oil, aka: veggie oil, including olive oil. My blood pressure is same as healthy teenage thou I'm 55 now. It's lower than when I start high salt diet. Also I didn't get sick, flu, covid, etc. Salt also eliminate my runner knee pain. It rebuild and restore the soft bone tissue.
I just discovered this Doctor and I'm sorry I didn't earlier, she is a gem, thanks doc.
Thank you for make-sense- nutritional information! So happy to have found you!
Traditionally our ancestors always consumed ghee and they were very healthy and free from diabetes and ischemic heart disease
Wow! What a PACK of information in such short video!
Thank you so much!!! ❤❤❤
In India, my mom's generation always used Ghee. Then came the FMCG companies and told us how it will kill us and told us how great refined oils are.
The refined oils are the killer
Yes Ghee gives lots of benefits. There are differences however. Indian people used to make Ghee at home ( milk - curd - ghee ). That milk will mostly be from buffalos and not cows. Now both cow milk and buffalo milk are easily available in most Indian cities. So also curd and ghee from cow's milk as well as Ghee from buffalo's milk. Ghee from buffalo's milk is commonly consumed in Indian household for food. While Ghee from cow's milk is used in Ayurvedic medicines and for treatments. Both the Ghees are good and it's a wrongly publicised that eating Ghee makes a person fat. Yes it can make one fat if consumed in high quantity. So moderation is neccessary.
One should check what they buy. (emulsifiers, additives, preservatives etc.). If in doubt they can make Ghee at home.
You have some information. But not the entire picture. Ghee is made from pasteurized milk nullifying a lot of benefits.
@@leeniesevy-perahia7911 😄😄😄 I have tasted various ghee brands, also have seen it made in homes over yrs. Cheers.
But only from unpasteurized milk. Don’t you get it. Pasteurized means processed. Anything pasteurized is never going to give the same benefits.
@@leeniesevy-perahia7911 to make ghee the milk must be cooked right? All ghee is pasteurized by that understanding. Are you special needs?
