Grown man sobbing here as I see the place where my happiest memories as a kid were made. Seeing Premont like this breaks my heart. Thank You for the tour.
Me and husband always stop here on our way to Reynosa Mx- there is a Dairy Queen Shortly B4 you get there -he stops and pees there. Also if you take that street behind there straight down about a mile you will run into an old abandoned football field that is consumed largely by weeds and foliage.
Went there yesterday It was pretty cool damn birds keep scaring us and seen a white barn owl fly out of the windows it was so beautiful . I definitely recommend this place.
@@PhilipAlanPhoto Premont boomed because of the oil industry. It busted in the early 70's. It has tried hard but it never recovered. It was a lovely little town.
I think the school closed down in the late 80s . I did kinder -4th or 5th . After it closed they used it for a catch all storage . It’s full of asbestos that’s why it was abandoned

I saw the original Star Wars movie in that theatre as a kid in the 1970s. I went to Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Grades in that school building.
Hi, I was curious to ask if perhaps you knew why the school shit down? Or why the area essentially became a ghost town. Ty

Please tell me y’all were wearing masks in the school it was shut down 30 years ago due to asbestos and it hasn’t been removed.

I used to work at that restaurant, main street cafe, I used to go to that primary school as well. I miss those days.
Why the decline in businesses there? Thanks for sharing!

What’s the exact address of this location?
"Premont, Texas" in your GPS. :) It's not that big. You can't miss it.
