When Fans Go Too Far...

- Fans are the pulsing lifeblood of esports - without the audience, none of what we love exists.
But fandom has a dark side, too.
The same fans that a pro earns through years of competitive excellence can turn on them in an instant.

Y’all really managed to somehow throw the Olofboost even in this video
lmaooooo
It’s a skill 😂😂
The crab incident
The whole world needs to take a step back, take a deep breath, and remember that we're all in this together.
Fun fact, the guy who threw the crab was actually an hbox fan who had money on him winning the event, he said he did it in excitement.
That raise the question why he have a crab and why his first reaction is to throw it to hbox? So he can get fancy crab dinner?
Why did he even have the crab in the first place?

@@60UGH nope a dude named Eevisu is to thank for it he posted a video a year ago explaining it , look up Eevisu crab story it should be one of the first 2 videos
Passion is great when its positive and terrifying when negative
Hbox was heavily demonized during Melee's heyday, in part because his rival Mang0 was popular. There were other reasons, like turtlepuff in melee. The perp was likely a Mang0 fan.
In ultimate he's more popular as Puff play is far gutsier, and his support for the scene endeared people.
Vtubers sort of come to mind as some have "popular" as their MO. And "antis" are a thing.
Video starts at 11:47
Another interesting topic would be Fans vs Fans, especially at LAN events
0:05 me trying to take a shit in the morning after eating a whole pizza while blasted
We are a sports community, there will be hooligans in our midst. It is our duty to ensure we stay more civilized that the fans of meatspace sports.
Its not a thescore video without them somehow showing the olofboost
Fans of things in general seem to have the crazy sense of entitlement. Like being a fan of K-Pop, if you like a certain group, apparently you're not allowed to like other groups... and the judging that happens is insane. In sports, I always get a chuckle at the fans that say "We won" when the team wins, but "They lost" when the team loses.
I'm a 'fan' of a certain hockey team. But I don't like to associate myself with the general fan base that seems to have a very offputting culture. Still, I like to see the team win, but I'm not going to riot if they lose.
People need to lose that entitlement - quick.
Love the channel and content
I still think it's insane that nobody could smell the dead crab in that room
Maryland is just like that
Love the thumbnail of Hbox is from the Smash Summit skits with Nick Yingling
not even a month ago, a french OW team lost to an American team and a French fan replied to the NA teams post saying in french "at least we still have our towers" and posted a picture of 9/11
lmao that thumbnail
Fandom ruin alot of good shit out there.
i mean the t1 fan trucks and messages are fucking insane, like theres a little bit of weird rationalising of it in this video but its like no? dont protest teams for not performing well, its so wierdchamp. i agree of course with what this video is saying. but most major teams have their fans turn delusional, fnatic, g2, t1 in league specifically also are partly to blame for enabling this culture even. Im a Damwon fan and their fans are turning crazy too, its just such a weird level of self involvement.
are you feeling it now mr krabs?
Where are the brazillian fans spitting on foreign players? Has been a recurring theme for years now.
That was a rotting crab. Seafood rotting smells fucking terrible. Imagine how terrible smash fans smell if someone sat through a whole 3 hour tournament and no one noticed a rotting crab lol
No Maryland just always smells faintly of crab
i hope that, as i watch this, i find that you guys refer to this as a raw crab and not a steamed crab
H📦 and 🦀 did not deserve this
Day 2 of asking TheScore to cover more Rocket League stories
South Korean SKT Fans are so polite😂😂😂
Not sure how well known this incident is, but there was, what I could best describe as, a heckler in the Evo crowd last year during strive’s top 8. During the final set hotashi played, there was a crowd member that began to scream a blood curdling scream. This person was sitting a couple rows behind me. When they let out their scream everyone around me and hotashi on stage during game two looked over thinking someone was literally getting stabbed. Hotashi even said in the post set interview that the experience def rattled him. Not sure if this instance counts but I felt it was worth sharing.
i love that you said blood curdling
Love your video
I remeber thinking to myself, that if FaZe (csgo) completed the trebble with the major, they could shit out of everything for a year and I won't be sad even. And it hasn't mattered, they even got their grand slam. I'm just happy they made it, if they keep bombing in csgo, that's fine, as long as they come back into shape for cs2!
lol a crab 🤣🤣🤣
lol expecting e-sports fans to be well-adjusted adults is too much... what do you expect from people who call themselves "gamers" unironically?
Love the inclusion of common regi L 4:02
Ah Nitr0, I forgot he quit Valorant to rejoin his CS TL
11:22 THAT IS NO FAN, THATS THE FUCKING SPIRIT OF THUGGERY ITSELF MADE MANIFEST
Bro this is the third video on my feed with Hbox's face on it, not involving the actual videos from Hbox. Still clicked tho.
Talk about caster curse.
yay
It's disappointing.
It's been a week and still no video or even a YT Short about Dota2 ever since the biggest patch since Source 2.
Trucking
lol
I'm not sure these "fans" are worth per say... luckily watching theScore is :P
Day 1: Asking to mention Brawhalla.
Imagine being a fanboy
The title and content are the complete opposite of each other on this video and its very weird. Calling acts of harrassment "fans advocating for themselves" is such weird delusional behavior.
League of Legends SKT fans in recent years crikey.
the crap moment
man you guys need some new material.
It's not even the players' fault LMAO. "Just ignore it"? How about the fans act like actual normal human beings, instead of acting like they're living in twitter land
ah yes, Hbox cringiest moment

My dudes, maybe you can put the camera a bit farther away when you’re doing these videos. It’s so close! A bit uncanny.
You really need to get more interesting Videos 😂
First
first
You’re third
stop showing the luck na major
Let em have it. Also it wasnt luck
how do you make a 17 min video about fans going to far and not bring upp anyhig about the massive problem in CSgo and other shooters when it comes to death threats especially when it comes to cheating allegations. youre video really fails to capture the big problems and makes it seem like death threats are a one off and things are not so bad... what you dont want to basch yor faviorite game?
it's going to be a thums down for me on this one
The dude mad about a crab screwed that up bad. He could have turned that into money but instead he chose to whine about it. That's hilarious! Who gets hit with a crab!? What a boner.
11:37 why does the fan lowkey look like Spica lol
The first 5 minutes is just a bunch of nonsense. Could've throw that part away. Wasting my time
Edit: the whole video is, just talking in circle like they're explaining to kindergarden.
