    Hi, thanks for the video! Can you please explain why it is a must to use 4 chip bulb for projector headlamps? 2 chip type won't do it? I have 2007 Auris.

    • @artworkslights
      @artworkslights  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Hello. It is not ' a must'. You can use 2-chip design as long as these 2 chips can cover 360 degrees(not perfect but recommended) of the back part of headlamp's housing with light. In this situation light will get through the projector lens properly and onto the surface(road). At that time 4-chip design was at close to that as could be acquired for a low price.

    Hi. Thanks good vid.
    I bought some hir2 9012 led bulbs for my 2016 auris hybrid.
    Unfortunately they dont light up. Nothing at all. Will i need some canbus error resistors.

    • @artworkslights
      @artworkslights  Před 3 lety +1

      try to see if you have connected it right, and check if the old bulb works. Usually, if led kit shows some kind of a sign, but doesn't work properly, then i may need to be canbus, but if nothing at all, then something may be wrong with the actual kit or the car.

      The origional bulbs in the auris work fine..leds were ordered of ebay, new.
      The instructions did read may need resistors if they flicker or dont work. whats puzzling me. if your auris didnt require resistors nor should mine.if leds are faulty surely they can't both be faulty one should atleast work..which brand of led's did purchase? Appreciate your reply my freind..big thanks.

      try putting 12-14 Volts to the LED and see if it works. LEd kit that I used was no-brand , because manufacturer sold it to marketing companies. I should be doing review or a kit soon bought from another company.

      like I explained in this video , you have to make at least 2 small holes for air circulation. LED conversion that produces any more light than oem bulbs need fans; led chips heat up and they don't like it.

    Hi there bro. may a question. Does H11 fit in fog lights for Toyota auris 2015? its same model like your car. What about Headlights it is HIR2? Im confused coz HIR2 works for low and high beam?

    • @artworkslights
      @artworkslights  Před rokem

      H11 is for fog lights, I. think in Europe, but there were also bulbs H16, that were different . HIR2 which is 9012, I think, which is very similar as 9006. It's not the bulb that works as hi/lo, it's the headlight.

    In the Auris I believe it's not necessary to drill holes on the plastic cover. The headlight itself has big air vents underneath for air circulation. Correct me if I'm mistaken. 🤔

    • @artworkslights
      @artworkslights  Před 11 měsíci

      it is not necessary only if you can find the right LED kit, that will not get very hot, especially in the summer With holes you can get extra 6 month of life(approximately)

    Any difference in terms of brightness? I believe it is whiter and may be more glare in foggy and snowy days. Even worse if it is too blue like police car emergency light. Thanks for showing us how to replace the bulb.

    • @artworkslights
      @artworkslights  Před 4 lety

      in terms of brightness it got a little bit better. Cool white or Something closer to 5800K color temperature makes it brighter at night comparing to stock bulb. Haven't seen much glare o the road. They are not blue, I would never recommend installing blue lights into anyones car's headlights(its more for show, than help). Owner of the car says that headlights perform better, but not that much in comparison to a new car's lights that come with HID or LED from the factory. Another person has exact same car and installed my LED kits into that car and lights are barely better than stock. Unfortunately, I did not have all my tools to see what the problem is, but I can only suspect. I have another video on this channel where I took headlights apart and showed projectors... I am also waiting for a client to stop by with his car, where I will do inspection on his without taking headlight apart, and will show what could happen inside the headlamp sometimes, that bulb conversions would not help to resolve. Thank you.

    • @rondhole
      @rondhole Před 4 lety +1

      @@artworkslights excellent explanation, thanks for sharing the facts, I am overwhelmed with various kinds of LED and stay with Halogen. What I know, factory LED headlights are dimmer than factory HID from Panasonic-Philips in Toyota I ever drove but whiter than halogen. Brighter than most 1000 lumens 9006 or H7 bulbs but comparable to 1800 lumens 9012/HIR2 in modern Toyota.

    • @artworkslights
      @artworkslights  Před 4 lety

      @@rondhole Halogen bulbs do not produce its rated lux for the life of a bulb; it starts degrading after about 2 month and just getting worse after(getting dimmer)sometimes color temperature plays a big role in what our eyes sees on the road. When choosing headlights there are a lot of things to consider. I think LED lights are more stable out of all, but don't forget that every headlamp is designed for different source of light and when "we" try to make some kind of changers toward something better, we still use universal solutions, but trying many of those available to decide which would work better for us on cars that we use. And because of consumers and our demands, manufacturers use innovative technologies, otherwise we would still be using sealed beam reflective lens headlamps.

    • @rondhole
      @rondhole Před 4 lety +1

      @@artworkslights Thanks for the information, I mix my 4 years old and new bulb and they looks the same from outside and perform the same from driver view but I changed only one out of curiosity. The 4 years old bulb has thin powdery tungsten on the surface which is normal . I agree with you that LED generally give more light but need to fit the beam pattern as close as possible with the original bulb. Indeed true, good LED with good driver will perform well. I drove VW POLO TDI and the light is much dimmer with H7 bulbs than the Auris 2015 with HIR2, the brightness are noticable, the HIR2 in Auris is almost 2x brighter than in POLO from driving position.

    • @rondhole
      @rondhole Před 4 lety

      @@artworkslights just got an update from Authorities, it is not Legal putting LED headlight bulb. The only solution to be legal is getting E certified whole headlight unit, not just the bulb since AutoLeveling is mandatory for LED in Europe. Toyota have bi-LED from dealer.

  • @rondhole
    @rondhole Před 2 lety +1

    The lids is supposed to be sealed or closed all the time. Even with HID conversion kit, we need to put seals on it. Making a hole on the headlight is not good, bringing moisture and corroded the mirrors which is aluminum on plastics

    • @artworkslights
      @artworkslights  Před 2 lety

      Original headlights have ventilation holes in them right from the factory. By making a small hole closer to the LED bulb conversion, you just creating a flow through that area. Hole needs to be put in certain area where water would hot get on it, not just start drilling left or right. I don't deal with HID Conversions.(dead technology, poorly made and more problems later)

    • @rondhole
      @rondhole Před 2 lety

      @@artworkslights Yes, but it has a sealed system in the lens. The hole is like the hole on the fan of the back of the LED bulbs, nothing to do with the hole you make. The headlight in Auris is not sealed, that's what the cover is for. Once something gets in like bugs, dust, salt, you will regret it. I can guarantee you have a terrible light beam pattern on such LED. HIR2 is already very bright at 1875 lumens and cylindrical symmetry. LED has no cylindrical symmetry, HID may be the best for this application but not that simple and too obvious if it has been modified. If you want to make a comparison at night, make sure you have the ISO, Aperture, and exposure time in the manual to give the exact same camera setting.e
