2008 jackie chan vs jet li forbidden kingdom
Come on no Church fight scene from the first Kingsman movie
Love It WatchMojo.
Hector vs Achilles in Troy beats Spiderman 2's fight in my opinion. Great list regardless!
Good to see The Raid 1 and 2 in the list. They were out of this world. Gareth Evans deserves more recognition.
Raid 2's Kitchen fight is THE Best martial arts fight scene Ever made imo.
@@sabalghoo I actually prefer Rama and his bro vs mad dog. It was revolutionary. No martial arts movie had ever done a FINAL fight with 2 guys vs the villain before and since the raid. It was long overdue in retrospect.
SPL 2 did it
agree with u@@Tomiwa101
Three Kung Fu Masters vs Assassins from Kung Fu Hustle in ‘05. Excellent fight that still holds up today.
Came here to specifically say this.
The algorhytm put your comment even above others who got more likes. ^^ terrifying how google knows me lol
So hard to pick a favorite fight scene from that movie! Anything with the Beast or the Landlady or the Axe Gang...good call going with this one though!
Undisputed all fights are good
The Buddhist Palm ✋️
"Kung Fu Hustle" (2004)
Agreed
Rama fighting the Assassin in the kitchen never gets old.
Iko Uwais is disgusting and I watch anything he’s in. His fighting style is so nasty.
Main character as ram is in 3 ranks on this list. 2 indonesian movie and 1 indian movie
2014: The elevator fight in Winter Soldier should AT LEAST be an honorable mention!!
Better by 1 million times than bathroom fight in MI. One is about what happens in the fight, the other is just about the actor's doing the fighting.
Nah, the knife fight between Bucky and Cap is better
@@captainfatbat9557That round house kick into the truck was EPIC!
bruh, how old are you ?
@@chibii-chan047old enough to deal with clown 🤡 like you
Honorable mention: Batman v. Superman; the packhouse fight
Yeah yeah. I really hate this movie, but the fight scene is my favourite of all time
Spiderman 2 was a good fight in 2004, but Hector vs Achilles in the movie Troy is among the best fight scenes of all time.
It is also one of my favorite Brad Pitt movies
Forgot about that one. Good call.
agreed. The intensity, music and choreography were just wayyyyy too good
Agreed.
Facts this list is based af
The knife fight b/w Bucky & Cap in Winter Soldier (when Steve gets Bucky's mask off) deserves recognition on this list IMO Also, Shang-Chi's fight on a San Francisco bus was iconic.
And just about any Thanos fight, mainly him vs hulk or the avengers or just Steve, Tony, and Thor.
Exactly 😂
Well, it came out the same year as The Raid 2, so it never stood a chance.
Rooting only for marvel i see😅
Iconic??? 😂😂😂
Undisputed series with Scott Adkins has some glorious fights
I would have to nominate Kiss of the Dragon with Jet Li, that movie is one non stop fight
The fight against the twins at the end is EPIC!! Also Tchéky Karyo is amazing.
Dany the dog too
The Oldboy hallway scene is iconic as it is filmed in just one continuous shot. For Kill Bill, as good as it is, it doesn't hold a candle with Oldboy's hallway scene.
I can see the argument being made between the two fight scenes, but saying that it doesn't hold a candle might be a little exaggerated.
While the Oldboy scene was cool. It didn't have the suspense and excitement of Kill Bill. Watchmojo made the right choice.
Try find out how Bride vs 88 was filmed... Pretty impressive.
Both very good, but 2003 Matrix Reloeaded Neo Merovingian Chateu fight is a must and it was forgotten!
All time one of my favorite fight scenes that one...@@TheBrunopeon
I get why they chose kill Bill… Completely over-the-top… However, of the two, Old Boy’s fight is way more influential. You see it being copied in several films that follow!
Well to be fair watchmojo did say they didn’t blame that!
Oldboy was a better movie all together
2004 was also kung-fu hustle😅 if u want to say over the top
There aren't many 2003 fights I like better than Neo vs. The Agent Smiths (2nd time) in The Matrix: Reloaded, but The Bride vs. The Crazy 88 from Kill Bill: Vol. 1 was one of them.
@@johnanderson9765Lol that Matrix 2 fight doesn't hold up well AT ALL 😂😂😂
Equilibrium has some of the most amazing and memorable fight scenes I have ever seen.
you don't know how much I LOVE that movie. I've paused the moment the puppy licks Preston's face a million times, enjoying his point of no return
"I'm coming" oh boy, aren't we all.
Equilibrium and The Matrix did not make this list.. both highly stylized and incorporating solid martial arts. Its a tough list to make for sure
The High way fight from Deadpool deserved an honorable mention. Also Tenet reverse fight too
2008 jackie chan vs jet li the forbidden kingdom was epic
Legendary
An underrated film, some great action in there.
Ong Bak bar fight scene and at least one of Jason Bourne's fights against other assasins deserve honorauble mentions, at least.
The whole fighting sequence in Ong Bak 2 as well
Jason Bourne was short-changed. As was John Wick. Incredible action!!!
I’m surprised either Ong Bak didn’t make it at all
You forgot Bourne vs. Desh, The Bourne Ultimatum, 2007
... breathtaking!
Exactly my Thought
shaky camera....so, nope.
Totally! It’s seriously one of the, if not, the most realistic fight choreographed fight scenes in a movie!
@@UmbraFulgurit wasn't so much the shaky came but the frantic editing that lessened it for me.
2020 I definitely go with Tenet's forward vs backward fight. That was sick.
I repeated that scene so many times... good choice and well choreographed
I was shocked that Tenet didn’t make on this list. I agree wholeheartedly.
The fanny pack fight from Everything, Everywhere, All at Once was incredible.
Mission impossible fallout bathroom fight is one of my favorite moments from all of the mission impossible movies
....from cinema history.
As far as hand to hand combat goes, regardless of how you feel about the movie, you have to admit that warehouse scene in BvS was top tier action, especially for a Batman movie.
That's not fighting scene. That's massacre scene. 😂
Still one of the best fight sequence and one of the best scene featuring Batman in any medium!
Ben was the best brawler Batman. He looked menancing in the warehouse fight. One of the best batman scenes ever
Glad you had The Protector in there. Tony Jaa is really underrated.
I was really hoping to see a fight scene from any of the Ong Bak movies as well
@@jovanimorales7084 There are a lot to choose from. I wish Tony Jaa was more well known.
I loved The Protector and Ong Bak. Tony is AMAZING!
The stairwell fight sequence from Atomic Blonde was nothing short of breathtaking badassery
Can't stand Charlize but she was amazing in that film!
I see what you did there. 😊
Not having any fight from the Matrix is crazy ,since it basically inspired most of today's fights
Maybe because 1 the best fights are in the first one that came out in 1999. Neo vs morpheus, the hallway shot out, the bullet time and neo vs smith
2It was either a standard one vs everyone from matrix reloaded (both the one from the mation and the cgi fest wirh the smiths) or a DBZ knockoff from Revolution. When in 2003 you have the bride vs the crazy 88 or the iconic hallway scene from old boy
@@motor4X4kombat Chateau Fight goes alongside with Bride vs. Crazy 88 and Oldboy Hallway Fight.
Good point! Major snub!
John wick 4 got robbed. The camera angles and weapon combo with the timing of everyone trying to stop wick was probably the best action scene I have ever seen. Never have I seen a action movie give a overhead shot inside a building as they move from room to room very cool 😎
It looked a lot like a real life hotline miami scene and it was awesome for it
It was magnificent, but Extraction 2's scene was better... barely.
The warehouse fight scene in BvS is far much better than the joke fest of civil war (2016) 😂
Totally!
2016 probably belongs to the train zombie sequence in Train to Busan.
Gotta admit yeah, youre completely right
That's the Goat action sequence of CBM , how did they not include it bruh
TOTALLY left out the fight between Donnie Yen and Colin Chou in Flashpoint (2007). What an AMAZING fight scene
Came here to say exactly this!! It showcases so many different fighting styles all in one, grounded, semi-realistic scene. And it's SOOO perfectly long and drawn out
If you guys make a similar video covering the 80s & 90s, then it should be brimming w/ Jackie Chan fight scenes. Especially since he and his stunt team currently hold the record for most wins in the Best Action Choreography category of the Hong Kong Film Awards, receiving the majority of them during the 20th century: Project A 1&2, Police Story 1&2, Miracles, Drunken Master 2, Rumble in the Bronx, Who Am I.
RUMBLE IN THE BRONX!!!!!!
For 2023 John wick chapter 4 " Staircase" fight at the end was epic nothing comes even close.
Every Wick movie should have been on the list! For 4 I'm partial to the club fight but that's just because I'm such a Scott Adkins fan!
shout out to all the editors, who made these sequences gripping and awesome to watch
The bane fight is iconic for 2012 don't get me wrong, it's amazing but everyone sleeps on the Ryan Reynolds movie safe house. The fight at the end of the movie is one of the most brutal and visceral fights I've ever seen and I think it's technically better fight than Dark Knight
I heard that! 👂
Agreed
2014 was great for action movies
john wick
kingsman
captain america the winter soldier
and of course the raid 2
in any other year scenes from these movies would have made the list but you just can compete with the raid
I’m surprised the iconic fight between Anakin/Vader and Kenobi from Revenge of the Sith didn’t make this list. Everything about that scene is perfect, like the set design, music, and the lightsaber fighting itself as one betrays the other.
I agree. I was shocked to see that this fight scene from RoTS was not on there.
The stairway fight blows it away. They made the right call
You're joking. That scene was a waste of time. The fight in Episode I - The Phantom Menace between Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan, and Darth Maul was a bunch better, and actually had story purposes. The fight you're describing literally had a scene where they just swung their light sabers at each other, not even attempting to attack, defend, or gain advantage.
Oh dammnnnnn forgot about that one. Yeah that one definitely needed to be in there. Actually as much as Episode 1 and 2 were trash storywise. There were 3 amazing fight scenes from all 3 of the prequel movies. Episode 1 - The unbelievable fight between Obi Wan and Quigon vs. Darth maul. Episode ll - The epic Anakin and Obi Wan vs. Dooku fight then Yoda coming in to steal the show. Episode lll - The absolutely grandiose side up side fights of Obi Wan vs. Darth Vader and Yoda vs. The Emperor. Epic.
Only the outcome isn't. Is against everything the series built until then. One on one, no one can defeat Anakin, not even Yoda, or Palpatine...or both.
I think my favorite part of the Ip Man fight is the fact that it wasn't just "person 1 takes their turn, then person 2, then person 3", but they're actually using their numbers to try to assault Ip man.
Also, is there a version that covers not just movies but shows? I ask, because the hallway fight in season 1 and the stairway fight in season 2 of Daredevil were frickin' AMAZING!!!
As much as I love the MI6 bathroom fight, the best fight scene of 2018 must have been the Iko Uwais - Joe Taslim final fight in 'The Night Comes for Us' (also the fight scene involving the female assassins). For 2010, I prefer the 'Kick-Ass' final fight over the 'Inception' one, and for 2020, the first/ final fight sequences in 'The Old Guard' are the better ones imo. Also, I would have preferred the 'Oldboy' hallway fight over the 'Kill Bill vol. 1' one. Plus the overhead action shot inside the building in 'John Wick 4' was so dope!
Thank you, was waiting for this comment someone recognizing the great fighting scenes from The Night Come for Us !
Julie Estelle (The Operator) was so badasss
@@jovanimorales7084 indeed
Honorable Mention: Chateau fight from The Matrix Reloaded
The Bourne Ultimatum Jason vs. Desh, not only is it the best movie of the originals, it’s also the best fight scene as each movie only progressed from its predecessor. No music, just grunts of struggle, violence, and a realism that hadn’t been achieved to that point.
Kill Bill’s fight scenes are literally legendary, I got chills seeing the Bride beat ass
Soanks a bad guy with her sword'Go home to your mommy!'
Too silly. Uma just overpowers everyone.
I'm convinced WatchMojo has never seen Upgrade. ANY of the fights in that movie are EXTREMELY well done in nearly every way.
That's atomic blonde fight was dope. I didn't know Charlize Theron had that in her and it's incredibly impressive.
This list was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥.... Very good choices
Thanks, this was such a nostalgia trip!
Amazing list! Thanks for giving flowers to Iko and Tony!
The most realistic knife fighting scene I saw was in a small independent movie called The mercenary that was released in 2020 . The lead actor was Dominique Vandenberg who also coordinated the fight scenes in gangs of New York. I found out from IMDb and other sources he was a real life soldier of fortune and French foreign legionnaire . It made the scene even more compelling and gruesome
Amazing fight scenes. Now I’am 100% sure to watch the Extraction movies.
One of the best new (?!) franchise.
Born the ultimatum.
Borat, the fight scene.
The intro of Casino Royale (007)
Thank you for including both Raid 1 and 2. What made them standout is every fight in the movie did not feel like it was a choreography. It really felt like a brawl and everyone involved was hurt.
2014 - elevator fight from Captain America The Winter Soldier. Or the highway fight
Cap & Bucky vs. Tony was 10x better than the airport fight. People only talk about the airport fight cause of Spidey's debut but sure Watchmojo.
Agreed. Civil War is my favorite movie. Or even Cap and Bucky, winter soldier.
Every fight in civil war is perfect fight scene...
Need wayyyyyyy more Donnie Yen in here. His fight scenes in his movies are almost unmatched year by year.
Totally agree.
For example:
Ip Man vs Master Z in Ip Man 3
The final battle in Flash Point
The boss battle with Jackie Chan in Shanghai Knights.
Ip Man and John Wick should have dominated this list.
Knife fight at the end of SPL is considered one of the best with Donnie in it
Donnie yen vs NIcholas Tse in raging fire was other worldly
Bane versus Batman in the pit from _The Dark Knight Rises_ was heart-stopping, especially with Bane’s monologue throughout.
Fight fuckin sucked are you kidding? The fuck kind of punch does Bane do at 13:16? That shit looks so goofy it makes the movie even worse.
@@sliceofgames8558shut up
Bane 🎉
_Fight fuckin sucked are you kidding_@@sliceofgames8558
This is another example of 'who' is fighting as opposed to what happens during the fight.
It's Batman - take that away and same seen is - nothing.
Go watch the Extraction fight again, and compare to Dark Night Rises. I don't even like the movie extraction but - Gawd Damn 23:26 that's a fight. Put John Wick in its place...i'm sorry, I know but it is what it is.
How is Cap vs Winter soldier not even an honorable mention
This and This!!!..
Because it can't hold a candle to the Raid 2. The worst fight in either raid movie is better than anything Marvel has ever put out. Cap vs. Bucky might be awesome, but it can't stand with the giants.
the night come for us has some awesome fight scenes.. atleast an honourable mention
The Raid 1&2 dominating two years, as well as Extraction 1&2, shows how good they were.
Batman warehouse scene was supposed to be at least an honorable mention in 2017.
not even an honorable mention best batman fight scene ever that was 2017 fight scene best thats a slap int he face
Can't wait for Extraction 3
You left out the slow-motion fight scene from 300. That was epic.
And basically the entire second half of Apocalypto
The first time I saw the staircase scene in The Protector I was flabbergasted by how great of a choreographed action sequence it is. It's still the closest thing I saw to a video game brought to life.
I also remember thinking that the fight at the end of the first Raid movie was a little underwhelming compared to all the amazing action sequences there are throughout the rest of the film. That hallway fight sequence they mention in the video is by far my favorite fight scene in the movie. When he stabs the guy in the leg and then proceeds to drag to knife from his upper thigh down to his knee and the way he keeps smashing the guys head in the wall as he falls down his just so insanely brutal and satisfying.
Can't argue with the kitchen fight in Raid 2 though. That one was excellent. Same for the bathroom fight in Fallout.
An honorable should have been the old boy tribute fight from guardians of the galaxy volume III.
Wow, this list is legit. The majority of your selected scenes were also my choices as well.
You forgot the forest fight from transformers revenge of the fallen.
That was the best cinema fight in my case.
2006 City of violence had a brutal climax much like the bride vs crazy 88 fight, its worth mentioning.
Absolutely agree on that choice.
For 2008, I got Jackie Chan vs Jet Li (Forbidden Kingdom)
As someone who has trained in MMA for years now, this list is nothing short of amazing. There are for sure some fight scenes that deserved to be mentioned but overall this is awesome! You guys should do an animated list of fight scenes for sure (I better see Kung Fu Panda on that one LOL)
Despite Mission: Impossible Fallout being a classic fight scene, There's a number of scenes in The Night Come For Us that tops Cruise and co.
2005’s fight not being Anakin vs Obi Wan in Revenge of the Sith is embarrassing
It really shouldn't be close also
There was nothing exceptional in that fight in my opinion. Episode III was a pretty terrible movie and this scene is no exception. Especially, considering that the staircase fight scene from The Protector is their choice for 2005, this isn't even a debate. That scene was leaps and bounds more impressive than the final bout between Anakin and Obi-Wan.
From a lore perspective, Obi Wan shouldn't have won that fight. And yeah, the fight scene doesn't have anything special in it.
@UmbraFulgur What fight did you watch? From the cinematography to the choreographed duel to the emotions, the stakes of that fight, the music. Nothing special?? That's one of the worst takes I've ever heard, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
Lettys fight scene in the subway in fast 6 in 2013 was epic
I'm glad both "extraction" movies were included here... incredible fight scenes and you picked the best 2....
I would like to add Hitman, 2007. Many good fight scenes. The Pullman train car scene against the other agents is a standout.
Just checked quickly if you included both "The Raid" endfights, so i can continue to respect you ;-) You passed.
2001 also had Jet li vs the twins in Kiss of the dragon
Blood and Bone is one of my favourite movies and it's so great to see it make the list here.
MJW is one of the best martial artists ever. So....yeah.
Glad you put the bus fight from 'Nobody' in here. It's a wonderful pagga, and how it finishes is surprising, but perfect.
I know, right?
I clicked this vid literally thinking "If The Raid 2 kitchen scene isn't in here, I'm reporting this channel". Kudos for that
Welp, both the Raid films are there so I'm okay
FAIL for not putting the Kingsman church scene as your 2014 listing (yes you gave it an honorable mention) but that and the Crazy 88 scene in Kill Bill v1 are the two best fight scenes of the century so far
That was a great scene!
I mean the raid 2 final fight was pretty dope
It’s good, but it pales in comparison when you juxtapose it to the Raid 2 Kitchen Fight Scene.
When you subtract the Edgar Wright flair from the equation, you are left with a fight choreography that is inferior to a lot of Asian action movies.
Any fight in Raid 2: Redemption clears Kingsman easy. That fight was mostly spectacle with good music thrown in. The final fight in Raid 2 needed none of that.
So basically you've never watched Raid 2
Raid 1-2 still has the best fighting sequences and Old boy hallway fight close behind!
I love the shout-out to old boys corridor scene in my opinion it is a masterpiece in cinematography and one of the best plots ever!!
JW 1,23 and 4 has one fight that should be on this list
Both fighters from the Raid movie clips were in John Wick 3, both I think are silat grandmasters.
What makes the John Wick fights work for me is their authenticity in how they "feel." He gets exhausted, punches and kicks get sloppy, and John takes noticeable hits. Many martial arts films do choreography in a way that's very clean and well-performed, but even in MMA fights, you notice how some effective moves look like effort is being put into each hit, which I think JW does well. When other movies try to be compared to John Wick, I look for the authenticity of weightiness to determine that.
The one-shot fight scene in Atomic Blonde (2017) was epic. Charlize Theron gets an A+ for that one.
My favourite movie fight scenes from this video are Spider-Man vs Doc Ock, The Massage Parlour fight and the Civil War final fight
Your one mistake is that you didn’t mention the duel on Mustafa from revenge of the sith, never mind the speechless choreography, the emotional weight on the fight is unmatched
Rush Hour 2 is a brilliant film. 😂
Some of the fights from the film upgrade were fkn sick!
The Grandmaster had several amazing fight scenes in it, especially the opening battle in the rain.
I thought 2021 would be either Final Steppenwolf Battle from Zack Snyder's Justice League or Spider-Men vs. Spidey Villains from No Way Home
Man, Bane and batman fight is one of the worst in the trilogy. They clearly only hit air and Batman punches like granny
I haven't seen 2020's Oner so I can't speak for its fight scene. But of the 2020 movies I have seen, I would put the final fight in The Hunt at the top of the list. The kitchen (etc) fight scene between Crystal and Athena goes _way_ harder than it needed to, and it was insane!
The movie was "Extraction". "Oner" is what they called the fight scene.
Good picks there Mojo. However I feel that streaming services have excellent fights as well. Daredevil and Netflix's Kate are excellent candidates.
You got 2014 all wrong. Kingsman fight was the best of the decade.
Nope, the raid 2 was miles better
The end fight in the raid is probably the most underrated fight scene of all time.
Can you do top 10 best movie fight scenes of each year from the 80's and the 90's
Spider-Man 2's train scene is the only right answer for 2004.
Thank you for the update, WatchMojo..!! I think Ong Bak (2003) had the most realistic fight scenes of all. 🤣
As ridiculous as it was, I would’ve put the shoot off in Sanford from Hot Fuzz on here.
Tenet fight in the airport deposit with one going forward and the other going backwards in time is pretty amazing.
Atomic blondes stairway fight is one of those ones I never forget. Surprised Wanted isn’t on this list though
Raid 2 fight wins, but give an honorable mention to the Captain America vs Winter Soldier fight. Arguably best one on one in Marvel.
Just watched The Raid the other day, incredible fight scenes, a fun scenario for a movie.
Santa vs the kill squad in Violent Night
The Raid : Redemption And The Raid 2 Is Always Have a Badass Fight Scene Ever
