I noticed that thread wasn't mentioned in the video, unless it's not considered a tool. But for those wondering about what thread to use, I thought I would leave a few tips. I've noticed polyester is the most common thread used in fursuit making. Poly is going to be more durable than cotton. In regards to thread weight; I've heard people say they like to use upholstery grade since it's the strongest you can get, but other makers get along fine with standard weight. Especially if you're using a sewing machine. Some machines don't like to sew with the heavy thread. Hope this helps! ❤

To go along with the clothing rack, I also recommend a scuba hanger!! I started using one recently and it’s a game changer! So much stronger than any other hangers I tried, which would ultimately break 😵💫
The fun things about scuba hangers is that they also have glove an boot specific ones! Excellent for hand and feetpaws

This year's the year I finally give it a shot, and your videos have been extremely helpful! Guess I need to go find a thift store to get a used sewing machine instead of the Singer I was looking at hahah
I have a lil note about the pins. I like the shorter ones with the round heads for sewing ONLY. It goes through my sewing machine better and less chance of me getting stabbed with the long needle. But I do use the long floral needles for pinning foam down and glueing fur down because its easier to see and harder to lose in foam/fur

What's the best way for a new fursuit maker to get started making fursuits for other people when they don't have a body of work to show off and get commissions?
