  • Little to NO fray technique!!
    Please note, while using a wood burning tool, to have a tempered glass cutting board over your mat when cutting so that you don’t melt your mat, and cut in a well ventilated area and/or wear a respirator. You are burning plastic when cutting and there is smoke that occurs.
    Please excuse the quality of this video. I was working with new equipment, so bare with me.

    I am so glad I saw this video before I started mine. I recently picked up all the items to make a sunflower one for our front door. I saw this pop up and watched so I just ordered a wood burning tool from Amazon and I will get it Friday. So I know what I am doing this weekend. I may have to go get some different color mesh to make more flowers. Thank you so much for showing us how to stop it from fraying.

    Wish there was a LOVE button, as this is the best Deco Mesh Tutorial I have seen yet! The wood burning method to cut the mesh is simply ingenious!! I have a hard time finding the 10 inch rolls locally so being able to cut up the 21 inch rolls without all the fraying is a life safer!! Thanks so much!

    Thank you Michelle for the update. I was so inspired by your other tutorial that I went and purchased all the supplies months ago. My 1st wreath is not even completed as I was dismayed by the fraying. With it being spring now I wanted to add a flower to my door, and now I start again. The wood burning tool is awesome and I'm glad to have one on hand.

    A wood burner is also great for cutting poly silk and lame fabrics. You do need to go quickly and with a light touch. Using a metal ruler helps cut a straight line when using it on fabric. I've used this method for many years, takes practice but well worth the outcome no frayed edges.

    As well, when doing the single petals do they go in each hole on the grid? Thanks!

    • @ANobleTouchCrafts
      @ANobleTouchCrafts  Před 7 lety +2

      Thank you Shelley! Go in about two inches, then there are 18 double petals around it.. then move in to the center for the single fold petals and I just put them in side by side.. you might skip a hole in the grid here and there.. but for the most part, it's right next to each other.

    A Noble Touch - will the Plaid wood burning tool also help with the fraying using jute/cotton deco mesh? Appreciate your help.

    • @ANobleTouchCrafts
      @ANobleTouchCrafts  Před 6 lety

      Marian, the wood burning tool is only good for the poly mesh.. the jute and regular burlap it will not cut. It needs to be the plastic poly burlap or poly deco mesh.
