      Hello, there Linda and welcome. Thank you, very much. It means a lot to me. I like for everyone, to be able to learn step by step. What I do love, the most when everyone tries and either they need help or they made one themselves. And that feels so good and makes me very happy. I hope you have enjoyed, like and share. This was the second wreaths I made using deco mesh and it was a lot of work but came out beautiful just like yours. I like the added purple that was sweet. For my center I did the spike which was different. I really like your center too. You are so right about it fraying but still look beautiful to me. My order from Craft Outlet came this weekend and I am going to attempt a 9 foot garland to go over my archway in the dining room, so far I will use yellow and Coral and of course I got plenty ribbons (you are the ribbon Queen). I really like this wreath, especially doubling up on the mesh, with the twist to arrange them. Have you ever considered using a straw or plastic paper plate holder as a backing? It generally has slots for mesh/ribbon and can easily be attached to the metal ring, with pipe cleaners. I use it, and I just started doing this. Rita

    Hey girly I have a question for you is there a glue you should use to glue pipe cleaners onto metal??? The glue gun is just not cutting it for me. I have a metal star I'm trying to attach to my wreath and it has no hooks on it or anywhere I can attach wire to it. Do you know of a glue that sticks to metal???

    • @craftingwithhwm
      @craftingwithhwm  Před 7 lety +1

      Metal can be hard I usually drill a small whole in it then use wire to attach. Use a screw driver or other tool to dent the metal where you want a hole then drill there. I have not found a glue that will stick. I hope that helps

  • @DesignedByJeanie
    @DesignedByJeanie Před rokem

    Hi Lori, I watch you quite often and so appreciate you sharing your talent with us so we can learn techniques. One thing I notice with this particular gorgeous wreath is how much fray on the mesh there is. I personally do not like seeing the fray, some people don't mind it. It takes a lot longer to wood burn mesh than use the rotary cutter but it sure does help with the fraying, doesn't completely prevent fray but helps so much. I see that this video is 5 years old, so perhaps you weren't using a wood burner yet. Do you ever use a wood burner or do you always cut your mesh with a rotary cutter. I have bought at least 4 different rotary cutters and can get NONE of them to cut mesh. I watch you slice through the mesh like butter and wonder whatever I am doing wrong!

    • @craftingwithhwm
      @craftingwithhwm  Před rokem +1

      Hi Jeanie! I’m really happy you enjoy watching my videos. I do own a Wood Burner and have used it in a previous video because I only had 21” Mesh and needed it to be 10” wide for that particular wreath. If you’re cutting mesh down the middle then you would have to burn the edges. It’s important to use good quality mesh and a good Rotary Cutter. If you do that then you won’t get very much fraying at all which is why I don’t need to use a Wood Burner. I sell a really good Rotary Cutter in my shop and here is the link. hardworkingmomstore.com/products/rotary-cutter. I also sell good quality Mesh that you can also find in my shop. I hope this information helps and one last thing is that I think it’s very important to use a Wood Burner if you’re making a flower wreath which I will do in the future. Thank you for watching, Lori.
