A lot that is untranslatable in this song. Each line has multiple meanings, and sometimes multiple meanings in a couple of words. The one Spanish phrase I would use to describe any translation is "no sale" (Spanish, not English), which is an exptression meaning, "It doesn't come out", or "It doesn't work in [English]"
Even the title, "Oro Santo" is ambiguous. It can be "blessed gold" or, in the context of the phrase, Gold, my love [saint, dear, precious, whatever the most extreme expression of love can be]. It could also refer to someone who has died, hence "saint"
The "feeling" is that the singer has lost someone, and, if that person were to ever return (from separation, or even from death) the singer would lavish them with the most precious of all things, whether a garment, or by overwhelming love itself, with even an act of worship as someone might venerate the holiest of things.
"Penumbra" and "tundra" have special, multivalent meanings in Spanish, and don't just mean twilight and tundra. Penumbra is indistinct, in-between, like Purgatory or even a dream-state. It is neither darkness nor light, and, in this song, seems to gravitate more to despair than to that period before dawn. "Tundra", of course, is designed to rhyme with "penumbra", but it has nothing to do with either the "tundra" of the frozen north or the frozen south. It's that vast undefinable wasteland, again suggesting the "in-between", whether Purgatory or even just the darkness of sorrow itself. That suggests this has to do with death, and not just separation. The cry of anguish to return is placed in contrast to the actual return of the singer's father, gone for 20 years, but dares to dream that the missing person could even return from the dead, or perhaps, that the singer will meet them in death themself. Kind of "My father, gone for 20 years was dead to me; why can't you just return as well, even from the dead?"
Near the beginning it suggests a lament (not sure why people seem to want to translate that with the arcane "plaint"; as lament is actually one of the words that DOES translate), and that lament is something like the wailing at a wake. At that point the singer is enveloped in gold themselves, or even enveloped with the one the singer is lamenting. The notion of a wake is further supported by the invoking of the presumably dead grandmothers, whose solidarity in death bolsters the vigil of the singer. Even the memory of the old records that first connected the singer with music suggest a journey to death, where life flashes before one's eyes (or memory). But it is ambiguous if the death is for the one to whom the song is sung or whether the death is of the singer (maybe both?)
So, in all of that, the singer dares still to imagine the return of the departed person, and says everything else will disappear so the singer's plaintive, desperate lament can be heard. Time stops.
That's just the first verse and chorus, but you get the picture. So many things going on, and so many levels of meaning. Google Translate just doesn't come close to doing it justice.

Concha Buika learned to sing traditional Andalusian Coplas whose themes are similar to Blues, love, betrayal, sorrow, and longings. Buika is also a flamenco singer and also sings Latin American music as do most Spanish singers. Everybody loves Buika. She can also stand up for herself in interviews. A lady of enormous dignity. I fell in love with Buika from the first note I heard.
