- Since it’s only a week left until the great River Phoenix’s (1970-1993) 50th birthday (the 23d of August), I thought of making a humble and symbolic early present to him and his wonderful family - Heart, John Lee, Rain, Joaquin, Liberty and Summer Phoenix and Jeffrey Weisberg ❤️ Here’s a little longer compilation of some of my favourite Phoenix family’s moments! By the way, I wasn’t able to find any interviews with Liberty, however, you can spot her in the video too!

@@joana9039 No problem - it's a great video! :) I have been into this family since I first watched 'Stand by Me' in around 2001! I'm not entirely sure what I think about the family's time in the 'Children of God' cult, and just how badly that affected River (as it very clearly did). The parents have a lot to answer for there I feel. But even so, they seem like a very loving, close family which is beautiful. I was lucky enough to meet Joaquin, very briefly, in 2013 and he was very nice! I'd love to know more about Liberty....she's the sibling we know least about, although I have seen some footage of her, and I know she's had two marriages and five children (although one sadly passed away in 2002!). Anyway, keep these videos coming! :) :)

The dark past of the Phoenix family will always remain unclear to us and River's fate is just absolutely devastating 💔 However, I'm grateful that the family was able to pick itself up and reestablish themsleves after all the hardships ❤ And you've met Joaquin? Glad he left a good impression on you - he seems so lovely and genuine from afar! ❤🌼🌷❤ Yes, I would love to see more of Liberty too, but, when I think about it, I respect her privacy and dedication to her children, work and being a mother 💕 But I had no idea that she experienced such a horrible tragedy of losing her own child - it's so so sad 😢 I want to believe that her family was there to support her ❤
Joana yes - since River was the oldest, he would have born the brunt of that cult’s treatment, and I believe it has much to answer for in his adult life and subsequent problems - and no doubt his parents pushing him into the showbiz life, when he clearly didn’t like the attention! It’s difficult because obviously, as much as I’ve read up a lot on his family, I don’t know them, so who knows how much he loved (or didn’t) truly love the way he was brought up! I’m very mixed in my thoughts and opinions on it! I do think they’re absolutely wonderful in all their animals rights work and being such amazing advocates for veganism and living a healthy, green lifestyle and all that! They don’t let the fame go to their heads - it was Joaquin’s year this year to get all the recognition and sweep the awards.....I’m SO glad he finally received his well deserved and long overdue Oscar - but he didn’t milk all the glitz and glam of it - he used the attention he gained to speak out about all the super important issues facing the world - animal abuse, human abuse, how humans abuse the world, how important it is to be forgiving and kind to each other ❤️❤️ and finally, managing to say a few words about River when he got his Oscar! ❤️ He might come across as a bit strange and unfriendly at times, but I honest to goodness believe it’s just shyness and a dislike of lots of attention! He has proven he’s a good guy with a heart of gold! Yes, I did indeed meet him back in 2013 at the BAFTAs! My friends and and I went there with the hope of meeting him - the weather was dreadful(we got drenched and freezing cold from the rain and snow), and typically for us, he was one of the last to grace the red carpet. Everyone was screaming for him, but I think he heard me because I called out ‘JOAQUIN PLEASE - YOU’RE THE REASON WE’RE HERE’, and he swerved and came back to us! Someone actually caught the footage and posted it on CZcams (it’s called ‘asprey party and Bafta red carpet - Joaquin Phoenix and Jeremy Renner’ if you wanted to look it up - I’m the girl looking soaked in the pink coat who grabs him 😂😂). He was very nice and obliging! 😊❤️ As for Liberty, yes, she’s probably the least known about Phoenix sibling - I hear you about her probably just wanting to stay more private and concentrate on her family and work. I don’t know a tremendous amount about her! I just know she lives in Florida running a company called ‘Indigo Green Solutions’ (named presumably after her tragically deceased son), and it’s a company that sells environmentally friendly household products. She is, I believe, also a member of a folk band (or something) called ‘Pine’. She is on her second marriage, the first giving her three children - two sons, Rio and Indigo, and a daughter Scarlett. Indigo tragically passed away from a severe chest infection when he was about 2 or 3 from pneumonia caused by a severe allergic reaction to new carpeting, so I read. She divorced and re married, and has had two more children, another son and daughter, Leo and Emily. That’s all I know (which is actually quite a substantial amount ha ha). But yes, that’s my (rather long) lowdown ha ha It’s nice to talk to you - we clearly have a similar interest in this family! 🙂❤️ xx

Yes, I love the Phoenix family and I'm definitely intrigued by it - they're special 😊 Even though there might be some dark passages in the pages of their history, one cannot help but respect them for what they have done to raise awareness about the problems of our planet 🌍 I actually found Joaquin's award season speeches so meaningful and well thought too. Each of them addressed a different aspect and hit right in the target. Loved it. From today's perspective, his Oscars' speech seems especially moving - he talked about the togetherness and being resposible for the world we live in. During the ongoing pandemic and all the other sad enviromental and political events happening now, his words feel so powerful!

Loved River. Didn’t know a whole lot about the family only that they were in a cult. After watching this they seem to be a very nice stable family/free spirit but parents protected them. Seems Very soft spoken gentle kids well the youngest daughter kind of aggressive/strange. God bless them 🙏🏼

I think when success hits that it is so easy to get wrapped up in the creative waves of that person, and sometimes the narcissist comes out when all the adulation happens, then artists seem to lose alot of driving forces that cause such creativity. Hunger is a great motivator as they say, it's similar to training to fight, hagler said it's hard to get up and run in the morning when waking up in silk sheets
