- Joaquin Phoenix is known all over the world as a super-talented actor and unique singer. A future starlet’s mom had been working in NBC casting department, so she knew about all castings and made her kids participate in all of them. Joaquin got the first role on a big screen in 1982, when he played in a sitcom called Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. During all his career, he performed in over 40 works and can boast of dozens of awards. As for his singing career, it is also very successful and nowadays, Phoenix devotes all his time to music primarily.
Joaquin’s mother, Arlyn used to be a hippie, hitchhiking all around the country, until she met John in California. Within a year of being together, they got married and later produced five kids together. Arlyn has always seen the children’s gift to acting as well as singing and so, she even hired an agent to promote them in the entertainment industry. According to the famous performer, he has the best mom he could have ever dreamt of.
The father John was a member of a cult called the Children of God, where he worked picking up fruits. John taught kids to love nature and perhaps that’s why they are all vegans and protectors of animals’ rights.

Jodean is a paternal half-sister, who was born from dad’s previous relationship. Unfortunately, no information is available about Jodean’s professional or personal life as she lives out of the limelight. However, what is known for sure is that she has at least one kid.
River is an elder brother, who was a prominent actor. Some critics say that he was even much brighter than Joaquin. He passed away at just 23 years old, when he went to a nightclub and took a cocktail of drugs. When paramedics arrived, all the attempts to save his life were useless. Until present time, he is missed by the family a lot.
Rain is an elder sister to the celebrity, who is very passionate about music and literally everything that is connected with it. At a young age, Rain and River were trying to make some money singing on the streets. Later, they started performing at different events and eventually became members of the group Aleka’s Attic. She is a mother to one child and a wife to Michael Tobbs.
Liberty is one more sister, who is also in the show-business, being an actress and a singer. She had been married to Ernesto Arch since 1996 and up till 2003. During this time, they became parents to three children who they co-parent nowadays. From the second marriage, Liberty has two more kids.
The youngest sibling in a family is Summer. As all the kids in a family, she began her career as an actress. Today, she is known not only an amazing movie performer but also as a model and a designer. Summer had been married to Casey Affleck for 11 years and together they produced 2 kids.

Apparently, River Phoenix was supporting the entire family after he started making successful movies. I can understand him helping his siblings, but I feel his parents made bad decisions with their lives and all the children suffered.
