  • Filmed on 28th April 2019 at the annual King Edward Mine open day this video shows the Californian Stamps running at the mine.
    Because of the unique way King Edward Mine evolved as a teaching facility rather than a working mine lots of the machinery at the mine is still insitue and one of these are the Californian Stamps which when running crush tin ore (cassiterite) into smaller pieces so they can be put through the mill and the tin extracted.
    This video does not do the noise and vibration justice and a trip to the mine should be on your must do list if your visiting Camborne or Redruth. There much more to see and do there so it's well worth a visit.
