The same philosophy worked for Mike Macdonald before he left Michigan to be DC of the Ravens. (Both Mike Macdonald and Jesse Minter were Ravens coaches before they came to Michigan.) And if Baltimore ran with those concepts, you know it can work in the NFL.
(And, of course, Macdonald ran it so well, he got his HC job out of it in Seattle. So Jesse Minter can be very successful. Like his time at Michigan, you worry that he might be too successful... but that is why you develop the next man up, like the Harbaughs like to do. Steve Clinkscale, for instance, also has an aggressive mindset and has worked a few years under Jim Harbaugh, Mike Macdonald, and Jesse Minter.)

There's talk the Packers might cut Pro Bowl IDL Kenny Clark in a cost-cutting move. I doubt that happens, he is too good. But the Packers do have a plethora of good young talent at that position. If Clark did become available, then the question would be can the Chargers afford him. They'd be in a bidding war for sure. But if Clark did through some small miracle become a Charger, he would be an immediate upgrade, and elevate the DL and the entire defense.
