We signed DJ Chark Jr last night & Ive been wanting us to get him in Free Agency for the past two seasons. We've literally added everything we need for the past decade in one off-season. Solidified Right Tackle, Blocking TE's, Big Body RB, WRs with Height & Speed, LB help, quality DB depth, as well as Depth across the roster. The only group that could use more depth is the Defensive Line
we are going to be sneaky good this year. chargers are HEAVILY flying under the radar, only the fans know what’s coming.
And maybe one star cb but maybe we will get that next yr 😊
Overall, Hortiz has done an amazing job but they still don’t have a #1 cb. There are still some questions & concerns with their DT & CB room and they lack depth at safety. Bozeman didn’t have a good season and he isn’t getting any younger so hopefully he can rebound with having familiarity with the coaching & offensive scheme. Hortiz has revamped their offense in just one off-season which is remarkable. It’s refreshing to have a GM we can trust in making the right decisions.
Only thing is, Chark has the second lowest separation rate in the NFL :/
Daniel Riley - how can you say the Chargers have quality DB depth ? It seems like a misconception some fans have about their own team. The Chargers don’t have a #1 cb. There is still uncertainty with who will be there nickel corner. Having big receivers with speed doesn’t necessarily translate to big production.
Gilman is probably, currently my favorite defensive player. He brings the wood. Hard hitting physical beast.

The right tackle in today's NFL game is just a important as the left. That guy in Vegas always attacks from the right side. I respect Crosby's game. Alt will be working for a living on the right side in the NFL. IN HARBAUGH I TRUST!!!

He MISSED 4 .5 games last year ! So his stats would have been there & BETTER then the SO - CALLED MVP"S , when he did play ? PS , Mahomes by far had his worst year , last year & he still gets a ring . QB"S hurt / injured Burrow & Herbert plus a ton OTHERS OR off seasons OTHERS Allen, Hurts , Mahomes is the [ ONLY ] way " Le Mare the horse " wins MVP awards? I think the chargers offense looks a lot more balanced. Around 30 passes and 25 runs a game unless we are dominating or behind by a ton
Sewell still struggled his rookie year after switching to RT so I wouldn’t have extremely high expectations for alt if they put him at RT
Sewell was a wiennie and sat out his junior year...he had not played football for a year before switching. Why does everyone forget this? Pretty understandable that he, of all people, might struggle.
Don’t sleep on perryman I’ve had him in IDP for years. When he’s healthy he’s one of the best

The only thing that kind of worries be about McConkey is his college injury history but hopefully B Herbs works his magic.

They need some solid CBs and a future solid Center to beat KC. Otherwise, the Chargers, even improved, will have tough games against KC.
Only question is who our Center?
I think DD is going to outshine QJ.. I was just shocked when we drafted QJ last year when Zay Flowers was still on the board.. then when we drafted DD I was much happier.. to me QJ has a shot to really come out and ball out and I really hope that he does, but in my mind DD has the size and speed to just create severe miss matches on deep routes.

Quinton Johnson might just do better this year! Staley could not have gotten the "BEST" out of any player...
Speaking defense - there was one game last year (I think it was against the Steelers) in which the Chargers defense flew around the field despite having Staley as HC.
In most other games it looked like they were just walking through the motions. I think that with the new coaching system, the defense will be much improved. Additionally with the new strength and conditioning coach, Ben Herbert, there might be fewer injuries.

Having a couple rookies in Alt and Rice with nfl dads, I'd hope pushes them above the average player. Alt in the 1st and Rice in the 7th is kinda crazy.
