No kidding! Rental property is a nightmare from what I've seen. The owners spend a fortune for upkeep, have a major hassle to get renters out who refuse to pay and then spend time, money and energy to fix places that have been trashed by people who take no pride in anything, much less a place they are renting or just squatting in.
I think what the unanswered question is ………are all the renters currently paid up. If not, the property owner is making a viable solution to his right to sell the land.
True that. Heartbreaking. I'd say if he was situated in the 'burbs he could have sold it as a turnkey business, but these mid-town and downtown parcels (1) can't be built today, and (2) will be sold if they can be sold. Too many headaches, uninsurable, and thanks to climate racism the bare land is among the few places developers can put a slab.
They’re used to leaving Third World countries now they can leave a Third World trailer park they’re not even giving us a courtesy of learning the language and they’ve been there for 10 years.
Why is it that the people interviewed do not speak English? The owner has the right to sell his property! The owners sold the land. New owners are going to use that land for the purpose that they bought it. If you wish to control the land that you live on, you must own that land. RENTING IS TEMPORARY. Its not permanent housing.
And most of these landlords are not renewing tenants leases as a way of getting them to move instead of evicting them, then turn around and up the rent for double to the next tenants 😢
@@maryhobbs4183 I would think that they would at least pay the tenants for their homes since they can't move them. If you own that home, you should at least get paid what that home is worth, plus a little extra for the inconvenience of being kicked out. That should be a federal law from state to state.
@@vickieclark5931 Why. You rented the lot only. You have no right to the property or to stay there if they owner wants to do something else with their property. If your trailer is do dilapidated that it can't be moved, or you don't have the money to move it that's on you. The previous landowner nor the current one owes you anything. You have already received what you paid for and its now time to move out.
Why do they feel so entitled? It’s not your property. You have to leave if they don’t want you there. Stop arguing, use the time to find somewhere to go.
We lived in a nice, clean, quiet trailer court for decades. We got along with our neighbors and helped each other if we saw a need, we raised our sons there and were happy. But around 2010 the properties around us began to be developed and affordable housing soon sprung up seemingly overnight, I told my wife it was time for us to move but she was reluctant because it was cozy and her plants were thriving, not To mention the memories we had there so I emphasized every day that soon our quiet would be interrupted because developers would most likely buy the court and move everyone out-and one day we would be too old to move when that happened. We went house hunting and found a house a few miles from where we lived, moved in back in 2021. My point is that mobile home parks are nice for temporary housing but the ideal situation is to own your own home, there are more responsiblities but no landlord to throw you out.
@@ven-venvybz8775 Yes, but it’s less likely unless you stop paying your property taxes, mortgage, or the government takes your land claiming eminent domain!
Such a dump. I can sadly see why the new owners want to remove the trailers etc. Paying rent does not give you the right to live somewhere for life. It gives you the right to live there for one month. Go somewhere else to live if you are unhappy with the landlord.
This is why squatters act like they have rights to other peoples' properties, because people who are renting do not accept when the OWNERS of the land or property make decisions regarding their property. If the owner decides to sell the property then you have to move on. Pack your stuff up and leave, it's not YOUR land. I know it may be tough to find accommodations for the low prices they were paying there, but that time has come and gone, and now they have to all move on. I wish them all the best.
and also they got notification 6 mths ago n waited till last her to complain about things not getting fixed, heck their trailer in video looks deteriorated
It doesn't matter how long you've lived there. It's not yours; it belongs to someone else who can do with it as they please. As long as you are lawfully notified that you must leave, then you must leave. This is why some landlords just do month-to-month leases - so they can tell you to leave (in most states) with only a 30 days' notice. Six months' notice is plenty of notice to find another place to live. In fact, it's very generous. This is not a "What is/is not fair" issue - it's a "It doesn't belong to you" issue. Whole Community: Doesn't talk to one another or do anything as to alleged living standards prior to getting eviction notice(s), then they come together to sue the landlord.
That's what happens when people live around people who speak only their native language. All the TV channels down there are in Spanish as are the radio stations.

About 20 years ago they relocated people from a trailer park in Milford Ct. that had been there since U.S. 1 was a rural road back in the 30s. The holdouts made out pretty good. They were moved to a nicely wooded quiet area and got new Mobile homes and land ownership in the deal.

Uhhhhhhh...did they not realize that they were only renting and that eventually having to move was a foregone conclusion? The owner has every right to sell his property. As long as the renters were given whatever notice required by law, I see no story here. They are not being "evicted." Their lease is coming to an end.

I remember hearing about this months ago. How long do you have to have before you get out. They can't afford repairs cause the owner is battling court cases I'd bet. Selling it to someone else would get them out financially. But the new owner can do as they see fit. They can sign new contracts or close the trailer park.
Now you see a lot of people in China saying they're not used to being middle class when we were used to being middle-class when they started stop buying homes in Arizona to rent out as an investment knocking buyers out of the market. There's nothing like the city wanting your land or investors or builders and all they want to do is put up expensive apartments that no one in this world can afford anymore and houses with 90% of people who have bought home say they regretted as of today.
And the landlord can claim exactly that, the deplorable conditions are not fixable while residents live there, so he has to close the place. So, if you don’t have any empathy for these people then why make fun of them? No matter what that place looked like, it was still their home. My God has recent tragedy after tragedy not teach you anything? Apparently not.
I had a good friend who purchased a mobile home park They trashed his trailers, they would never pay him, He had to go back to work after he had retired . He is a great guy and now he is broke. Ask them to prove they have been paying The reporters would never ask that
No kidding! Rental property is a nightmare from what I've seen. The owners spend a fortune for upkeep, have a major hassle to get renters out who refuse to pay and then spend time, money and energy to fix places that have been trashed by people who take no pride in anything, much less a place they are renting or just squatting in.
Rent to own . They pay for the maintenance.
These people must believe that if they get the news involved and try to get the public sympathy then they won’t have to move. They want to dictate what the owner does with his property. How many of these residents are not in this country legally?
Immigrants that escape from marxist tyrannical countries must reeducate and adapt themselves to survive in our capitalist, free, lawful countries. Don't bring your marxism with you.
That’s Miami fyi , I left that city 21 years ago and it was hard to find English speakers and they were all legal residents of that city, many were there from the 50’s
Well if that's owned by someone else then they don't have any rights to the the property.
Very true. We must try our best to manage our finances and build an emergency fund.
In some states residents are given casH to help in transition. Probably not in Foriduh..
Well done I love your way of thinking.💕💫
You can still own property, but here in America, they will take it away.😮😢
@@ven-venvybz8775 Yes, but it’s less likely unless you stop paying your property taxes, mortgage, or the government takes your land claiming eminent domain!
@ven-venvybz8775 can you explain that?
Such a dump. I can sadly see why the new owners want to remove the trailers etc. Paying rent does not give you the right to live somewhere for life. It gives you the right to live there for one month. Go somewhere else to live if you are unhappy with the landlord.

If you have been given proper notice then it's not the property owners problem you haven't made arrangements to move.

About 20 years ago they relocated people from a trailer park in Milford Ct. that had been there since U.S. 1 was a rural road back in the 30s. The holdouts made out pretty good. They were moved to a nicely wooded quiet area and got new Mobile homes and land ownership in the deal.

All over the country, investment corporations are buying the parks and jacking the rents sky high! If you can’t pay, they can give you 60 days to move your mobile home, or they can legally TAKE IT! It costs $20,000 to move one, and there’s nowhere to move it TOO. They can turn around and sell it or rent it out, and you’re out on the street! Google ‘John Oliver mobile homes.’
