WAY more useful than the Stanley stud-finder video I watched.
Wow I had no idea about the outlets and switches thing.
You can also use any magnet to find a screw that is in the stud. Slide the magnet on the wall, and when you find it you will feel it! The magnet may even stick to the wall
In not so infrequent instances, the studs are not exactly 16 inches apart. It can be it can be off either way..
Al Y that's true. Thanks for the feedback.
Does no-one else find this video hilarious?
Q: How do I find a wall stud?
A: Use a stud finder
Thomas Anderson we've all taken on a DIY project only to find out later there was an easier way, right? A stud finder beats knocking on the wall or punching holes until you hit the jackpot! Thanks for watching.
Most people on these videos (like me) have absolutely no home improvement knowledge so thing that seem obvious, aren't. These lowes videos are excellent marketing considering that now their establishment makes a lot more sense to me, and things I pass up on now has value to me. I think I have spent a lot more at Lowes the past year, but I get a lot more done around the house not having to worry about hiring someone.
what are studs?
Did you watch the video?
0:19 "DON'T DO THIS TOO MUCH"; what exactly is "THIS"?
You know, scanning yourself with a "stud" finder? Juvenile humor, but it's kind of asking for it.

@@lowes I chuckled. Thanks for the video. I am hoping to find some studs other than myself in my bathroom without having to buy a stud finder. Any tips for that? I tried knocking and it all sounds the same lol.
... Or just knock n hear for hollow and solid spots. DIY free
