Received mine about 3 weeks ago and have nothing bad to say about it so far. Swapped from a mk6 golf gti as needed something a bit better for economy. Runs great and looks awesome in black!
Still a fun little car in its own right. Definitely feels the most spacious in its class so probably doesnt feel much different to your mk6.
Looking at getting one, what mpg do you get if you donât mind me asking?
@@rudgeautos3378 40 to 50
I would say it depends on your driving style. ;). But I'm averaging around 40 and only using it as a nip around so thats pretty good going.
Bought an FR plus 110bhp (same as FR sport) last September after having 3 Peugeots (206,207,208 GT Line) and the for me the Ibiza pisses all over the Peugeots. Far more comfortable car. better handling, and a lot easier on fuel. Currently getting 55/ 58mpg from the Ibiza. Struggled to get 50 out of the 110bhp 1.2 208.
I just ordered mine...same color. Took it for a test drive and it was soo different after driving a vauxhall gtc. Smaller, lighter but didnt feel cramped. Less horsepowers but because its lighter than the gtc its still nippy. Cant wait to get it
Is the chassis fragile ? When i touch others the sound is shit compared to german chassisđ
After my test drive I said the same thing about the âdump valveâ sound đreally like this car have ordered one but it isnât coming for a bit yet unfortunately, looking forward to it though. Great review also
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it and Iâm sure youâll enjoy the car when it arrives! Nice well put together little thing
All turbocharged engines have a dump valve đđ»
@@Trappygit yes but not all are audible
@@Trappygit yes when I was editing the video I thought this would be picked up on, what I meant was more the typical aftermarket dump valve sound as heard on more modified cars! Its very pronounced
@@ItsDanLatham an atmospheric DV then đđ» I've got an old Saab that is quite pronounced an a standard recirculating DV too. Even my Volvo S90 will make a little chirp if persuaded.
I'm looking forward to the Ibiza - I ordered an Xcellence Lux 110 DSG yesterday for March delivery. More kit than the 2020 Volvo!
I had a mk4 Ibiza as a first car was a tdi sport pd130. Mapped it not long after to 170+bhp and over 300+ of torque. Was really quick for a first car so will always have a soft spot for it
I wanted a fabia VRS with the same setup but couldnât afford it at the time. Shame those old diesels are going extinct now!
Watched your video for the first time & I'm so surprised how you only have 4k subscribers.
Really thought with a video with this quality content you would have had 200k+ subscribers
Very high praise indeed, thanks for the kind words!
@@ItsDanLatham Keep up the videos, they're really helpful!
Great review technic. I agree with you that its a shame they dropped the 1.5. Good video.
Great review mate, wish you done the 1.5t variant. Im in-between this and an arona, need to go test drive both.
I drove both ibiza and arona back to back and theres more similarities than differences. Hope you enjoy when you decide!
Great job. Had one for 2 years now and am about to do a long term test review for my channel. Canât see anyone else has done one yet?
Will subscribe and check it out!
Great straight to the point review! Are the beats speakers any good?
Thanks! I do quite like the beats system, its by no means high-end but it packs a punch and is well worth the upgrade if budget allows. Having a dedicated subwoofer takes the strain of the main speakers so the quality is better.
My fr sport has the white vents which looks a whole lot nicer in my opinion, only downside is qt night the lights reflections block the wing mirrorsđą.
I don't know why, but in the last year it was going to be sold, Ford priced their Fiesta ST at squarely 29.000 GBP in Italy.
it's surprising to watch reviews made in other countries say that the ST could be gotten for amounts close to a still ordinary FR 110bhp Fiesta.
Great review just got a ibiza Fr from a gti 7 feels a big downgrade but for what I use it for around town itâs nippy smooth and quite fun to throw about looks nice too, wish Iâd done more research and got the FR sport instead of the FR 95bhp! Wheels are better on the sport and get climate digi dash I only paid just under 15k though so not bad for two year old car!
wow, they should bring this brand car to South Africa
It blows my mind that they are not making a Cupra version of the Ibiza. It would look amazing, they could also replace the fake exhaust tips with real ones but in the same shape. Considering the competitors, the Cupra Ibiza traditionally would be more in the direction of the sporty i20N and Fiesta ST rather than the comfortable Polo GTI -> no sale cannibalism inside the Volkswagen Group. I just dont get it.
Iâm in a similar mindset, the only thing I can think of is that they are holding off for the release of the all electric Cupra Born, which will have around 230bhp in a similar sized vehicle. They are moving the brand over to electric as swiftly as they can, so maybe they just didnât see the point in spending out on extra development for a âhotâ version. That being said, there was no cupra last time either, and with this new model they have even dropped the 1.5 150 option.
Not just a cupra the fr alone used to have good performance the mk4 fr had 150bhp nearly 20 years ago
Here in Greece you can get the 1.5 150 hp âverison also the 1.0 tsi can become a 125hp engine with racechip alone @ItsDanLatham
I got the 2020 version fr with all these options, except for the panoramic roof and beats audio back in December last year.
In my opinion the interior was better In the 2020 version, plus I only paid ÂŁ15,600 from new..
Maybe because of all this business with the lack of chips...?
I've just bought the 2020 model dsg one, I can 100% agree with you on that interior looking much better than the 2022 model which I don't like
The new steering wheel is made by true leather or like in the previous model by sinthetic leather? Like the seats?
There's also Skoda Fabia mk4
Finally someone who mentioned their height. I am also 6ft and wanting to get the ibiza, did you feel you could do long drives and remain comfortable?
Yes, it has enough room inside with the chair lowered for day to day driving!
@@ItsDanLatham Cheers Dan, appreciate the review and reply
What is your top 5 similar sized czrs please ? No GtI bullshit just normal ones
Hyundai i20 is good, vw polo, new renault clio, entry level mini, mazda 2, vauxhall corsa - they all have pros and cons but all pretty decent in terms of the newest models.
@@ItsDanLatham isnt ibiza better than i20? Rank i20 clio and ibiza plz
Just bought 1 now they have the rear camera.
Can I ask what you thought of the sports suspension...was it comfortable enough on the roads you were driving on? Thanks...
Yeah definitely not as harsh as some of the cars designed with performance in mind. Felt about the same as your average hatchback such as a fiesta etc.
Thank you for the video
Do you consider fr version as a sport car?? Or more like a sport look (especially 1.0 110hp)
Itâs just a sport trim and their most sporty features. Its nippy but not fast. Unfortunately they did away with the Cupra which was the true sports version of the Ibiza. Most cars of this type have a âsportâ trim that doesnât necessarily change the cars feel too much.
@@ItsDanLatham I agree with you that most cars of this type have a sport trip and not performance . I think only new fiesta st-line with MHV (and older versions) is something between the standard sporty looking version an the hot hatch version.
Ibiza is obviously going to be good if based on the polo. Just as always the polo has a better interior and the Ibiza has a better sportier exterior .I've had a new polo twice as a courtesy car. First was a non turbo hated the engine soo gutless and slow when you need to get a move on. Second one was a turbo version 90bhp. It may only have extra 10bhp over then on turbo but had soo much more torque. Wasn't fast by any means but acceptable for normal daily driving
I think Seat interior is far nicer, I find the Polo very bland. Just my opinion of course after driving both.
I got a fabia 110 mk4 style for the price of a base 1.0 polo (mpi gone in polo 95hp turbo)
Are seat still around. Not sold in Australia
Still popular in Europe and the UK! Not sold in the USA either.
Why is the video frozen at the and?
I have no idea. Seems to be a youtube issue.
Is the boot space the same in the standard FR as the FR sport?
Yes, best in class at over 350L
@@ItsDanLatham ok cheers
looks great from outside but not a patch on peugeot 208 inside and manual handbrake, really?
208 is definitely another league inside, my mum has one so will probably do a video on it soon
@@ItsDanLatham yeah peugeot are nailing interiors, bad move by seat because its the same dash in this and the arona, so worthwhile creating a great dash. I had the ibiza and the interior build quality compared to peugeot is behind also. Peugeot steering also feels more weighty but thr ibiza handles corners better but the 208 has better engines and auto gearbox. Seat need to up their game.
@@dancooper2072 only thing I dislike about the peugeots is the steering wheel positioning. I do think the VW stuff needs an update. The korean brands I think are doing the best family cars at the moment. Every kia/hyundai I get in is a joy to use.
@@ItsDanLatham This doesn't bother me ha, heard car reviewers say this but doesn't faze me, don't really understand issue but maybe I'm the right proportions. The auto is a joy! Mines the 130. Yeah agree, I'm no fan boy to any car brand really but its gotta be said that peugeot are knocking it out of the park ahead of everyone. Seat have got abit lost in the whole cupra thing and then made cupra electric only but cupra buyers can't afford electric and dont want electric. VW are in a mess recently, creating so many different brands, the ID and Cupra thing all just seem so messy should be one brand, different drivetrains, easy.
I should add I mean future cupras will be electric only, they seem to have Cupra as the tesla now, whic I don't think is what people want at the moment, I just don't think we are anywhere near ready for electric yet.
Wait so do they make these 2022 with the 1.5???
Apparently they still do in certain places in Europe, but not here in the UK.
@@ItsDanLatham oh ok thanks for letting me know
Is the 110 engine a 5 or 6 speed manual ?
6
6 just bought 2 nippy
im stuck between this the 2022 polo or the hyundai i20? what do you think
I know it may not help but i am going for the ibiza. I try to help with telling you my train of thought. In switzerland i can get an 150ps (about the same in ho) of the ibiza. it does not drink that much more in tests than the way more weak i20. the i20 n line is fun to drive but i really donât understand the fuel economy. It drinks a lot of fuel and just feels cheap inside. But the bose sound system is. ice. The Polo is just way to expensive for what it does. In reviews there didnt seem to be more quality or better features to exist compared to the Ibiza. i hope i helped
1.5 still available in Europe in both Ibiza and Arona
Interesting, not something they mentioned to us. The engine was popular here in the Golf/Leon.
I have just ordered the Ibiza 1.5 FR sport plus with DSG to replace my 1.4 2018 Ibiza FR which is upgraded to 205 bhp. I'm in Tenerife, delivery late February.
@@ItsDanLatham The 1.5 Evo is still available in the UK on the Arona with the DSG box but not the Ibiza đ
That engine comes with mandatory DSG junk though... @@ItsDanLatham
do these come with stop start?
Yes standard, as far as Iâm aware it comes on pretty much every modern SEAT
Yes
Only thing that is bad is the fake exhausts. Terrible design in my opinion.
I don't mind em what I do mind is the airvent decoration it looks cheap and cool at the same time
