- 5 MINUTE RULE FOR INSTAGRAM GROWTH (INSTAGRAM STRATEGY) / Can you really grow your Instagram account in under 5 minutes a day? You know I’m not a big fan of wasting time. So, in the time suck of social media, I had to figure out how I was going to grow my Instagram account without being glued to my phone. And I’ve cracked the code, my friend. I created a 5-minute rule for Instagram growth and last week, my account passed 122,000 followers (even though I haven’t posted in over a month on my feed and I’m super minimal about the time I spend on the platform).

Tela Holcomb She literally says she only spends 5 minutes a day doing this “5 minute rule”. Sure maybe she meant she does one of these things for five minutes, but she never says that’s the case and calls it the “5 minute rule”. Also, I don’t think anyone is like saying this to hate on her. She has some really good methods for growth. But those who of us who have spent a considerable amount of time growing our Instagrams (56k in one year baby 🙌), just know that this seems oversimplified. That’s all ✌️

Guys, she literally says you can pick one of those things to do within the five minutes (4:08). Of course, if you do every single thing for every person, it would take much longer.
Instagram in a nutshell: using dozens of manipulative and dishonest "growth strategies" on people and call it social engagement. So this is what social interaction looks like in the 2020s 👌

Big take always. Do this in five minute increments, don’t do it all at once
Section one
Existing audience
Any followers or engagement that day - send them a voice message or personal thanks. Or video message, ask what they hope to get out of this.
Polls
Info on what the followers want. Especially for new masterclass or webinar
Questions :
After posting new photo, go like all the comments on the previous post.
Step two find like minded accounts.
Don’t be cool, be friendly.
Search keywords or tags within niche, and save content while at it.
Go through hashtag list, interact with people.
Once relationship is built, follow up, week or months later.
Answer dms.
Something like that

Thanks for the info! May I suggest that you make a review on a mobile app that I personally use called Pixe. It's a hidden gem for Instagram and I think that your subscribers would really love it.

Another tip is called STRATEGIC COMMENTING guys. Simply going to places where your target audience is gathered and actually joining in on the conversation helps a ton

I’ve really for the most part given up on trying to grow my Instagram. I’ve been stuck around 12k for a while now. I was pleasantly surprised coming across your video because it actually made sense and it gave me an idea or two. Yesssssss! When you just post and bounce of the platform, it's no wonder your account isn't growing. We post 1 single feed post in 2019 and Insta was still a solid 5-figure sales channel for our brand.

I will definitely start incorporating the voice messaging to clients. What I’ve noticed recently though is when I use questions in my Instagram stories, I get a lot of spam. It’s so annoying! There must be a searchable way for people to see questions because the comments are from people obviously wanting to grow their own business, but whom I am not friends with. That being said it is still valuable as a lot of the followers respond as well.

I love the dedication that you actually timed yourself doing all of that! But honestly, you don't need to do all of them at once. If you have a few minutes before work or something like that, be intentional with them. Don't just scroll Instagram, use one of these tips for those few minutes :)

Just make sure if you save someone’s content in your posting it on your own page, that you ask for permission and give them credit
Thank you for the great ideas!! One question, what do you do for the comments/DMs that are trying to treat IG like a dating site? "Hey baby girl" "Hey beautiful" I've tried being polite and respectfully respond with something like "Hello, how are you?" "Hello, I hope you have a great day!" But a lot of the times it gets weird on their end.
I personally freak out when a stranger sends me voice messages or when they ask me what I want to see. I'm like idk... I just liked your photos hahaha. Instead, I comment back on their photos or watch their stories and maybe reply on one of them.
I love how personal you are with your audience! I for sure already make effort to interact with my followers, but the voice messages in DMs is a great idea! Thank you!

I don’t feel like I have enough engagement to do video messages and stuff but I love polls because people do engage a lot on my stories. Any insight on that? Why people are all over my stories but not posts?
The biggest takeaway was sending voice messages and video messages. I didn't know you could do that but will start immediately! Good stuff as always Sunny! You are my hero!
I am starting to apply a similar concept: spending only 20 minutes a day on ALL the social media sites I use. So this would break down to five minutes for each platform I use. Can you guess what those four platforms are?

It’s interesting because I see girls who are really good with their aesthetic & content, but they barely engage with people who engage with them, then I’m confused as to why they continue to gain followers if they limit their engagement...??
When IG made changes that were geared toward authentic engagement, that didn’t bother me any, becuase I engage regularly with people; the ones who comment on my stuff & peoples stuff that I follow. If I leave a comment on someone else’s post; whether it’s the poster or a follower who comments to me, 9/10 I comment back- unless it’s negative or low vibe, then I leave it alone & don’t feed into it.
I do the same! I try to engage with people that engage with me, love hyping ppl up and making them feel good about themselves, and I try to answer their captions or read what they have to say! What’s your Instagram? Want to follow each other? 💕
The Authority actually, I bought her CZcams course a year ago, & it’s amazing quality & content packed! So I wasn’t referencing Sunny, I was referencing a lot of what I see on IG with different models & influencers who don’t engage rarely at all
