I have been injecting steaks for over 30 years now and I have found that you need much stronger flavours. For some reason, as you have now discovered, a lot of flavours disappear when you cook them in the meat. I use mixtures of kecap manis, soy sauce, honey and Garlic powder. Pour the ingredients into a bowl and heat it up and mix it. Heating it up is important to liquify the honey so it can push through the needle. And use that big ass horse needle you have, not the small ones. I have also used this method with a lamb on a spit. It was amazing. :)

It looks like the sauce injections with a fat base just rendered out of the meat. The ketchup, with a base of tomatoes and lots of sugar, held up well and provided a stronger ketchup flavor. A sweeter thicker sauce should do the trick. Kecap Manis thinned with some apple cider vinegar, or some spicy pepper jelly thinned with brandy would be interesting.

Amazing work Roel, fellow dutchie here, I've always been a fan of meat and even though I don't always barbeque mine you got me into buying some nicer meat from a good butchery nearby once in a while. A few weeks ago I bought me and my dad a cote d'boeuf for on our barbeque! It was a few degrees overdone but still red on the inside and amazing nonetheless! Keep up the amazing work!

Have you tried ketchup with chili sauce on a well-done A5 wagyu steak? It's to die for.
Mustard makes more sense, just goes hand and hand with smokers/grills. Be interested in what a A1-Sauce injected steak would be like. I actually use A1. Anytime I get a big steak and the flavor gets to much after eating it for so long, I introduce A1.
the real question is... would a steak that have been to space taste the same as a regular steak??? and how about if the cow lived on the moon?

I really hope someone who's good on a cnc and good with gas builds you some miniature firenadoes to put around the place, would look pretty cool in the evenings and putting different elements in it can change the colour of the flame like with copper sulphate.

I eat my steak with a pat of salted Kerry Gold butter on top. Not sure it would inject well, though, unless you add more flavor like garlic and herbs. You could try a Marsala style sauce, red wine, or bleu cheese and BBQ sauce combo…

Pesto Rosso. inject some Pesto Rosso adding a bit of Chilli oil, flavour the outside with some salt, put it on the grill and 15 min later you´ll be happy.
Instead of alcohol in to fruit, what about fruit in to steak? :) Also bacon grease, honey, kecap manis, rice wine vinegar and your favorit spice mix in to a injection sauce. Also, never seen anyone take a whole roast and do 2 different injections split halfway on the roast... might be a interesting experiment if you can get 2 different flavors from the same steak

I’ve never used catchup or mayonnaise on steak. Steak sauce or butter yes. Now a steak sandwich that’s different it also depends on my mood sometimes I’ll use catchup, sometimes mayonnaise most of the time plane

Save the steak juices from the resting plate after a cook. Next cook, inject those juices into the new steak before cooking.

Using steroid needles to inject bacon fat and ketchup into steak, (while making Gordan Ramsey jokes) I think I've found my favorite grilling channel!
You can make an English mustard Injection. Use powdered English mustard, when you mix it in a bowl with water you need to make sure it's liquid enough to inject your steak. This method works and you get a great flavour. Don't overuse the mustard in the steak as it has a strong flavour.
How about:
Pichana injected with chimichurri
Steak injected with caramelized onion jam
Chicken injected with honey
Beef roast injected with a roasted red pepper, garlic and olive oil puree
Steak injected with the pan sauce from a different pan-cooked steak
Steak injected with an olive tapenade
Flank steak injected with a honey, ginger and soy reduction
Flank steak injected with salsa verde
Steak injected with a creamy mushroom and peppercorn reduction
Steak injected with mole sauce
Steak injected with a fruit salsa, made from cherries, peaches, plums or mangoes

I've never thought about it before but this is a cool idea. Do it again but try some of our recommendations. Mine are:

Cheese, Nacho and Pepper Jack sauce
