A decade later and this line is still awesome

@@kidz4p509 the Joker has done so many bad things that he thought Batman wouldn’t give him the cure and instead let him die as punishment for everything he’s done. But Batman said he would still give him the cure if he had the chance. Which made Joker laugh because he didn’t think Batman of all people would actually be willing to save him
yeh, even tho he didn't deserve to live. he still let him live
If you think about it, the Joker's death is as brilliant as it is karmic: Joker isn't afraid of dying, he is afraid of not going out with a bang and at the hands of Batman. He goes out with a whimper and at the hands of his own idiocy, instead of Batman killing him as he always intended. A killing joke indeed.
I both hate you and respect you so much because of that last line. And I don't know which one beats out the other
If you grink about it, the Boker's death is as grilliant as it is larmic: The Boker isn't afraid of dying, he is afraid of not going out with a grang and at the hands of Shlatman. Even though he died in such a non spectacular way, he wasn't upset. He had finally heard his other half, who was so stern an joyless, say something he thought was genuinely funny, and died laughing. With a smile on his face.
He isn't wrong, it is funny because no sane man in the planet would give the cure to someone who has been doing the same old acts over and over.
...and still went to hell.
A hideous smile... the type of smile which Gotham despised for years...
(P.S.- don't you feel that Joker was like a child who wanted too much attention albeit the wrong way ? I mean, we do not remember bad people in the same way as in which the good ones are... Joker was pretty much the destruction lover.... just in the name of being remembered and people spat on his grave and defiled it... can't say I liked the Joker as a person but as an antagonist he was necessary)

@@nicegoatdoctor8224 that actually is pretty funny...
It's been years since the game came out and I still can't get over that ending scene. I love the detail how in this moment all of Joker's goons were so shocked and stunned at his death and at the fact that Batman of all people carried him out as a gesture of respect (or as proof, but it most likely was a bit of both) that they don't even think of attacking and just get out of the way.
It's also amazing how gotham's mob bosses can be so different from each other, while the Joker is adored as some kind of demigod by his followers, the Penguim follows the asshole boss archetype and the first thing his goons do after he is out of the game is trash talk about him.
Or,because Joker is dead, the person batman continues to allow him to live and break out, they probably thought Batman finally gave up and killed him

@@carsenmaxwell3336 It's quite clear the knife stab made him drop it as its supposed to be cruel irony that the Joker's own demented actions led to his death

heath ledger
@@C.Program_079.EXE. Every single time somebody says a joker actor was great, Heath Ledger is always mentioned...Yes, Ledger was and will be one of the greatest Joker actors of this century, yet he formed a different kind of Joker. Hamill morphed to a comical Joker, the one with a bunch of goons and a comically brutal plan in his pockets. Carried out Joker's body instead of Thalia's. Just explains their whole relationship in a nutshell.
Yep. Batman and Joker are on both sides of the same coin. They both exist because of Gotham's corruption and the criminals who thrive in crime.
Can you sum up their relationship ? I don't understand why he did that
@@GAPLATER Batman and the Joker need each other, they both feed into each other's various mental illnesses. Batman has a hero complex and needs an arch nemesis on par with himself to keep his crusade against crime going. Likewise, the Joker needs a hero to battle to fulfil his need for attention and a sort of inverted hero's complex. Joker will never make a trap or situation that Batman can't get out of and Batman will always stop to engage in their own twisted form of banter before a fight. They're almost like lovers in a bizarre way and each knows the other better than anyone else. In several continuities, one or the other have become jaded and borderline catatonic when the other has either died or retired.
It's because Talia's body blew up when Joker blew up the floor. Or the League of Assassins took her body while Batman was fighting Clayface. Batman had to bring out the Joker's body to confirm he was dead.
@@tsukopara2054no, Batman doesn't need Joker. The killing joke already prove that.
I don't know...First time seeing this scene when I played it was soo heartbreaking
The cheering from Joker's goons turning into disappointment
The fact that they don't even jump batman because they're probably thinking of the latter

In The Return of The Joker (Batman Beyond movie), The Joker dies in a flashback saying: "That's not funny. That's not..."
But here he says: "That actually IS pretty funny."
And both of their scripts was written by Paul Dini.

even if it's written by a different writer, arkham origins and arkham city still connects really well especially the whole bats-joker relationship started when batman saved joker from falling and even in the end, he's still willing to save joker, which is why joker finds it funny.
I love how Batman just leaves after putting joker on the car. He’s just like “I’m done with this shit, take him he’s yours now!”
@@existing-is-pain What do you mean by "technically murdered him"? The Joker stabbed Batman in the arm that held his cure, causing him to drop it. That was the clown's fault.
@@Samuel152I guess not only the titan not only made Joker dying, but also made him more dumber
The sad thing about this scene is that Joker is dead but batman lived. However, Mark Hamill lived and Kevin Conroy has passed on. You can just imagine joker carrying batman as he walks out of the theater, mourning over his favorite arch enemy.

Poor Harley, Catwoman watching from the building Joker will be missed.
He's busy haunting Batman in Arkham Knight..
I don't get it! She still loves Joker after all either Joker or his henchmen to tie up Harley back to the Steel Mill.
@@johnsantos507 More accurately, Joker tricked Harley into thinking she loved him. Her father suffered from a mental illness that got him killed/drove him away (depending on the interpretation), and since Joker is also mentally ill, he used that to take advantage of her naïveté and sensitivity to the mentally ill. Harley Quinn never really loved the Joker (though she thought she did), she just pitied him, and Joker used that pity to manipulate her. Even the Arkham games describe her as one of Joker’s victims in her character bios. It’s an abusive and one-sided relationship that Harley really needs to escape from. Seeing him dead in this scene would’ve been heartbreaking to her despite all the manipulation and abuse he put her through.

God received The Dark Knight today in Heaven. RIP Kevin Conroy, the definitive voice of Batman thank you for making my childhood awesome.
I like how all the thugs just let Batman pass and didn't fight him. That just shows respect.
More like a combination of shock, sadness, disappointment, and fear. Joker has always presented himself as an unkillable psychotic genius who could go up against a legend like the Dark Knight.
To see Batman gently carry his dead body means the Joker wasn't invincible at all. At the end of the day, the Joker was mortal like everybody else.
They also 100% thought that Batman killed him. Like even joker thought Batman was gonna let joker die.

It’s weird how every good villain’s best scene is almost always there death joker, Andrew Ryan, light yagami, etc
This was done so well. It's like, now that the Jokers gone, Batman's job as a crime fighter is a lot easier, and he's somewhat relieved he's gone, but he hates himself for feeling relief.
Joker and Batman in some weird way gave eachother purpose for each to exist. Joker never even bothered to reveal Batman's identity because he knew that would be the end of Batman.
@@CoolNinja925 I believe that Batman’s identity is the one thing Joker doesn’t like because to him it’s all a game to break him. If he knew who he is, then it’s as if the game’s already over

He did in Arkham Knight, in a way, when Batman kept having hallucinations of him.

In a way this makes it a fitting death for the joker. Its basically batman confirming that despite all the death, atrocities, and carnage the joker has done he would've saved him. That has to be the apitiny of insanity. So much it rivals the jokers
