I like how Batman made the big dramatic walk out holding jokers body all the way out of Arkham but just left Talia's body in the theatre

Talia’s body was gone if you look during the fight likely took to Elliot Memorial Hospital in Knight.

What makes death the greatest joke?
Notice how batman didn't go back into the rubble to carry talia's body out and carried joker's instead, that's true friendship

Chuck Merry do you know of how much I laughed at that reply? 😂
What happened to her body anyway? It wasn't there during the boss battle.

I was surprisingly sad when I saw Joker die.
Connor Kenway You wanna know something funny? The Joker has been killed more than most major criminals in the DC universe. Batman (1989), Arkham City, Return of the Joker, The Dark Knight Returns, The Killing Joke. I'm surprised we don't think of it as a running gag like we do with say Goku from Dragonball. All hail the many dead Clown Princes of Crime.
KazeAizen The Killing Joke murder isn't universally agreed upon though :P Thats just an interpretation of the ending.
***** Either way I still think he's been offed more than any other super criminal in the DC universe. Hell he even got it in the Injustice timeline.
*****
to be fair if Grant Morrison say that's what happened I kind of have to agree
CommonKTD Understandable :P I'd agree if Moore said it
The fact that all the criminals outside the theatre cleared a path for Batman makes this scene even more iconic
Can you imagine the shock from their perspective? They are seeing Batman- Joker's arch enemy- carrying his body in a respectful manner, not wanting to fight or even saying a word. He's calm, yet clearly not in a sound state of mind. They cleared the way out of respect for the one man who carried their boss's body out of a building after a long, intense night of Hell on Earth.

Why do people always put "one and only cures" in glass vials? How about a metal cylinder?
Well said.
"This can save the world, it took years to develop...Lets put it in a fragile Glass container".
Your not wrong
but freeze did make other glasses but i don't remember what happened to them
I think it runs the risk of causing a reaction in the metal or contamination by the metal. only an assumption though
He didn't carry talia out but carried the joker out instead .. Really shows a lot about both characters
That's because Batman really loves The Joker and Joker loves Batman. That's why Batman never wanted to kill The Joker.
Zakery Dalbosco And instead of sticking the knife in his neck or something, he stuck it in his shoulder.
Its like a freak show, joker didnt even bother trying figuring out who batman is,the real fun is putting him to the test
Hey Z, educate me. Why do you say they love each other? Do you mean a respect for each other in context similar to war enemies or rivals? Or do you mean umm errm? Batman and the Joker's beef has been depicted in different ways from hostile and violent, to Batman being the "bigger man" and not trying to kill him.
***** I mean, Batman loves Joker inside, but hates him on the outside. But The Joker loves Batman in a psychotic way.
Joker always has the last laugh. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go cry now.

I'll prep the wake

JMoneyGaming937 DAMNIT Harley Quinn!!!! Go rustle Mr. J a proper wake!
You are crying for maniac?! What the fuck is wrong with you? This clown is insane and killed millions. He deserved to die. Disgusting that you would cry for a psychopath.
One reason why Batman doesn't kill is that he himself knows first-hand the damage a murder can do to a victim's loved ones. Murder would create a vicious cycle of vengeance and violence - something that Batman wants to end. The day Batman kills is the day he becomes the thug who murdered his parents.
This explanation is so good that it should be integrated into all Batman works.
Yes , so he just cripples them for life :)

"Do you wanna know soemethg funny? Even after anything you've done, I would've saved you". ----That actually is pretty "Funny". The writing for this game is brilliant. Even though Joker is an insane lunatic, Batman was able to have a heart and saved him, if Joker didn't attack him desperately, then the Joker could still be alive. Regardless, such a brilliant game, can't wait for Batman Arkham Knight next year. :)

11:35 I remember getting chills at this moment.. I was sure batman was going to give the cure to joker but then when he was silent for a while and said ” you would just break out again” I fr thought he was going to let joker die. then in an instant joker attacked batman and the cure fell. Next chills came when batman said ”i still would have saved you” propably the most powerful scene in a video game maybe ever
same
"Every decision you've ever made ends with death and misery..."
And Joker's next decision led to his own death. That's some nice writing.
The fear he shows when he broke the cure is fascinating as well. After all the death he's caused, now he has to accept that he'll suffer the same fate as all of his victims. But he can't. Deep beneath all the sadism and egomania, after all the slaughter he's caused, he's ultimately still afraid to die himself.
It's both sobering, but also quite pathetic in his perspective.
Yup. Joker is charismatic and all, but he’s genuinely a piece of shit. That’s what makes his character and relationship to Bruce so beautiful
@@Gemidori Not only that, but the extra bit of karma was that for the entire game Joker was dying slowly and painfully. Which is what I would expect for someone who usually kills with Joker gas. A very horrible way to go and it's by no means a quick death
The symbolism of Batman walking out carrying Joker’s dead body with the background saying “Joker The Immortal”. Even in death, his legacy is still alive and well.
It’s a twist on Cain & Able
No, it isn't. In Arkham Knight, the only mention he gets outside of Batman's head is Gordon's memory of cremating him, and a few thugs occasionally mentioning him.
It's strongly implied that after the events of Knight, Joker would eventually just be forgotten. And it makes sense - there were far, far too many extremely memorable villains such as Scarecrow who arguably caused more chaos. I mean, Scarecrow coated Gotham in fear toxin for Christ's sake. Nobody's gonna think about the mass-murdering clown after that.
His legacy won't be alive and well for long. I'd be surprised if he got mentioned even once, even by Harley, during Suicide Squad: KTJL.
The Joker just doesn't win. Anybody who thinks he does is misreading the subtext.
@@Resi1iencemaybe not to Arkham Verse, but to us fans everyone knows joker is Batman’s nemesis. No other villain comes close.
@@insaneyogurt4993 like the painting at the beginning of the Catwoman DLC, right?
@@amiablanket Yes, it's a portrait of Cain and Able from the Bible.
I never understood why Batman gets blamed for killing The Joker, and he himself never denies it either. Joker only died because he stabbed Bruce, causing him to drop the vial. Joker essentially doomed himself.
+rinraiden He's probably too tired to explain anything, u see, getting threatened by Strange, protocol 10, Gotham's poisoning, witnessing so much unstoppable death, especially Talia and Joker... All in one night. This is one of the darkest twist Batman has ever faced and it's truly emotional.
+rinraiden It's the court of public opinion. The only people who know what happened between the Batman and the Joker are the Batman and the Joker. And with Joker obviously being dead, it's Batman's word against his. No one is going to believe that Batman was trying to save him (in fact, some would probably think Batman is crazy for doing so) and Joker unintentionally caused Batman to fail at it, especially Joker's followers. Harley became so difficult to console, that Batman could have given a detailed explanation of what happened and she still wouldn't believe him. So Batman doesn't bother wasting his breath.
Finally someone understands
Well,he is batman, not because he is tired,he always knows what he is doing
People blame him cause of what happens with Joker in Arkham Knight, where it is revealed that Batman did not plan on saving Joker.

Her body disappeared when Batman was fighting Clayface. And he carried out Joker'a body to show the world that the clown was officially dead.
Batman should have thought something was up when no blood spurted out of Clayface when Talia stabbed him.
When Hugo Strange was stabbed by Rā's al Ghūl, there was no blood on the sword either. So, you could understand why he didn't think of it.
Wesley Wiggins
I was joking. I understand that a T game won't have blood everywhere.
HE STABBED HER FIRST
+Weaponised Inkling That's a sick reference you're making there.
Wesley Wiggins there was blood on his outfit tho (sorry for responding late)
My Theory: Batman knew full well how Joker would react. He knew he'd stab him from behind, causing to drop the cure through no fault of his own. Batman made that whole "I put you away, you escape, people die" monologue knowing what was going to happen next. Make no mistake, Batman WAS fully prepared to give him the cure and he had every intention of saving his life, if only Joker hadn't stabbed him, causing him to involuntarily drop and break the vial. But he did, and in the end of the day, Joker's death is 100% Joker's fault; he died IN SPITE OF Batman's efforts to save him. Batman finally found a way to get rid of his greatest enemy without breaking his One Rule, and it worked.
That whole ending was basically one ultimate, glorious Batman Gambit to end all Batman Gambits. And IT WORKED.
Wow! Never thought of it that way 😮. Awesome comment!

imo is one of the most chilling and Incredible scenes I have ever witnessed in any videogame and the only one to make me cry.
The way Batman carries The Joker through the streets of and exit of Arkham City as the orchestra intensifies is beautiful. I believe even though Joker is evil Batman still sees him as the person he wanted to save but didn't need saving. In the end Joker won, in a way, he took a part of Batman's soul when he died leaving a void that couldn't be filled.
With “joker the immortal” behind his dead body too!
"Joker won"
Theeere it is. Someone who sees that the Joker was laughing and doesn't read the subtext. At all. The person who believes there is no way for the crazy villain to lose, ever, under any circumstances.
The Joker fucking lost lmao. Not only did he die, he died knowing he failed to make Batman lose control. Even his final laugh can be interpreted as a bittersweet, defeated chuckle as he gasps on his own dying breath.
And he lost even more when he invaded Batman's mind in Knight - locked away, failed to make Batman kill, doomed himself and died with a bitter grin on his face.

Aged like a turd in the sun
How are you feeling about them now?
This wouldn't have happened if Batman hadn't put the cure in a tiny, fragile test tube.
To be fair, it was Freeze who did that. Plus even if Batman knew of the risk, he wouldn't have had the chance to warn Freeze because... well... Freeze was trying to kill him
Galvanizer I disagree. After the fight with Batman and Freeze Bruce holds him down and gets a chance to talk to him. I guess Batman just forgot to tell freeze that because of all the fuss, or he didn’t want to waste anymore time then he had to.
And it wasn't a very smart move on the Joker's part to stab the arm he was holding it with.
Actually, after the fight, both Freeze and Batman discovered that the cure was stolen from the vault. They did not get the chance to put it in a precious, robust container.
A test tube that breaks when Batman drops it but doesn't break during that massive explosion during which Batman hits the floor really hard with it in his hand.

I like the (probably) unintentional foreshadowing in Arkham Asylum.
Before Joker shoots up with Titan, he says “I have nothing to live for!” And aims the syringe to his chin, mocking suicide.
Ironically, he really did kill himself then and there, he just didn’t know it.
I never thought about that... huh.
Isn’t it weird that a game has a better ending than most movies in the past decade, he’s a psychopath yet we cried that’s master writing for you.
For some odd reason, video games tell better stories than any movie, TV show or book (though, its debatable) could.
It's mostly because of the limitless opportunities the devs have when creating the game and then the story. Game development and plot mixes very well.
Just found out about Kevin Conroy's death a few minutes ago and I was very shocked and saddened by this news. Rest in peace dark knight, we will always remember you.
I love how the ending scene, where Batman carries The Joker's body out of Arkham City, actually mirrors the painting of Cain and Abel in the first shot of the game's opening cutscene. Cinematic genius.
I think the arkham series is the perfect incarnation of batman, equally goofy and serious
My thoughts exactly.
I honestly love the Joker but when he said to batman "I killed your GF, poisoned gotham etc. And we all know your gonna save me" I grew angry and i really thought to myself he needs to die...If that were me obviously but when he died I kinda felt sort of like crying lol than it killed me when harley quinn saw the Jokers body ;(

To anyone doubting if he's dead, they cremated his body in the Arkham comics (some may say "oh no it's the comic he can come back in the game" but take with it as you like). Not that I don't want Joker, these past 3 games with him has been awesome but if there's a sequel, I'd rather the main bad guy be another main baddie in Batman's rouge gallery. Everyone needs to come to the realization that Joker is dead in the ARKHAM series. The Arkham franchise is a separate entity from the films and comics; in other words, it's not canon to the comics. The developers in Rocksteady have made it clear that Joker is dead, and that he will not be returning for Arkham Knight. Now, Batman may experience flashbacks or hallucinations involving the Joker, but the Joker will not appear in person. Arkham Knight is going to be brilliant, even without Joker.
Totally agree. And we get my boy Scarecrow to do battle with this time. I loved Joker since I could walk, but Scarecrow is my joint favourite and I'm dying to see him in action. Besides I have a bit of a grudge against Joker these days because of the whole Black Mask incident in Origins.
Haha! Please be the main villain, I really don't want to be mislead again.
Same. Black Mask and Scarecrow are the best. Maybe Black Mask's chance to shine was ruined, but hopefully Scarecrow's won't. I did like Origins, but I was super pissed off about the whole Black Mask twist. I would like to see him in Arkham Knight, maybe under the employ of Scarecrow.
I'm pretty sure he just means inhabitants of Gotham.
After looking it up, I think it mean the remaining inhabitants of Gotham, hence REMnants. No I don't even own a current gen console. I have a 360. I will get a current generation console when Arkham Knight comes out.
Batman's lover died: The end.
This game is SUCH a masterpiece!!!
It’s been 12 years since this game came out and the ending still gets me. Joker had worked tirelessly to try to get Batman to break his moral code and in the end, Joker died by his own hands. Batman got the last laugh but at the same time, he felt empty inside because in a way, they both needed each other. Batman was silent the whole time because he was mourning on the inside and was never the same again. RIP Kevin Conroy, you will forever be the greatest Batman!
12:21 when someone says suicide squad is good
"That actually is... pretty funny!"
*dies
That aged well...
Remember the painting at the beginning of the game, the one that is covering the safe that Catwoman opens? It pretty much foreshadowed the part at 13:42
I think it’s called “Duality of men” or something like that. It shows Cain and Abel. It actually makes sense, because Cain killed Abel and then carried his body, just like Batman did.
No more of this iconic duo. RIP Kevin!
I think Joker and Batman have a serious Love-Hate relation ship
Why doesn't anyone notice that Clayface got killed by Batman? He killed off two villains in one night.
he also killed ras al ghul and solomon grundy
Eh, I don't count Ras as it seemed like he dies on his own and Grundy is already, dead. So yeah.
but still
Ras al Ghul isn't dead , his body disappeared and ras can't die because of the lazurs pit with makes him immortal
thats in the comics in the arkham series hes fully dead the only reason why hes immortal in the comics is because their is always someone to take him to the pit but the pit was destroyed in arkham city(different universe from the comics
What makes this ending so excellent is how powerful the Joker's death feels. When Batman walks out holding the Joker's body, it's as if he's carrying the corpse of God himself. Harley Quinn and all of Joker's goons are at a loss for words and even Catwoman drops by to see it for herself. The music is sombre yet angelic as befitting the funeral of a larger than life person. Only Gordon can muster up the composure to speak and all he can do is ask what the hell has happened. And all the while, the man who knew Joker more than anybody else, the one who was there when it happened, can only keep his eyes dead ahead and lay the body of his arch nemesis down and leave without a word. The whole world comes to a halt as Joker's body is brought by, as everybody knows that the landscape of Gotham just changed forever.
joker is the King thats why the world came to a halt if it were any other villian dead the world wouldn’t care... joker was Gotham’s biggest underworld Don.
When Batman cuts clayface it's seems pretty satisfactory
13:20 Man, this final scene is a scene of Beauty
Joker and Batman have always been each other’s true love. They complement each other perfectly
It reminds me of the phrase that Joker said in Batman The Animated Series: "Without the flying rat, crime is not funny"
practically as you say, they need each other
And thus, the legend of one of the greatest villains in history has finally come to an end.....
you will be missed, Mr. J
Screw what the critics say, this is my favourite game ever made.
EnderEthan 14 I’ve never heard anyone call Arkham City bad lol this is like everyone’s favorite arkham game
The critics say that this is an amazing game lmao what the fuck are you on about
This literally had the best story outa every arkham game no one ever said it was bad if anything its the best
You’re definitely the type to call a game like GTA IV “an underrated gem” lmfao. This game has like a 96% positive rating
I just want to deny that he is dead but we all know the truth, no matter how may theories we come up with. :(
Batgirl Bubbles Go back to the Power Puff Girls!
Thuto Molefi Excuse me?
Batgirl Bubbles Bubbles, the blue Power Puff girl. Is your name not a reference to it?
Thuto Molefi Not really, but I see what you mean! You must be really creative :)
Batgirl Bubbles Aww shucks
1:40 Talia, listen: before you die, i need to tell you something
What is it?
I DONT FUCKING LOVE YOU!
talia u got a fine ass
CCHEZER The voice actor is much more better
Rado Heineken But they had a child you know. Batman's son.
samuel david say what?!!
Rado Heineken You don't know? Bruce Wayne ad Talia al Ghul are Husband and Wife (Don't know if they were married) but they have a child and his name is Damian Wayne
Remember, it's not just funny that Joker effectively sealed his own fate; it's funny that Batman, having made the reasonable argument that saving joker here dooms many more to die, would still have chosen to let him live. That's what Joker finds so funny.
Remember when we all thought joker was alive because the cure was in batmans other hand after he woke up? Lol Arkham knight put that theory to rest
When in the game did he say that I don't remember
+Ricardo Gomez It would have been super lame if the Joker had turned out to be alive.
I never saw half of the events in this game coming. What a masterpiece!
in my opinion this is one of the best DC universe games ever made, along the batman route, I just love how the ending isn't happy yet isn't sad its sort of in the middle however its very powerful
I have a feeling Talia Al Ghul might return in Arkham Knight...her body disappeared which means that the servants will take her to another Lazarus pit
***** no Xbox 1 or PS3?
what do you think Spent Lizard ?
Delon Luu Haven't played it yet. I'm still working on Arkham Asylum.
Spent Lizard Ah I see
Spent Lizard Good luck, Arkham Asylum was such a great game, but Arkham City was even better! Arkham Origins was great, but it wasn't better than the first 2 games, but still great.
Idk about anyone but Arkham Series games feel so much better playing them around the holidays !
Batman is a maniac so much worse than Joker. He realises that keepen villains alive means death to thousands of civillians, but he don't give a shit 'bout that. Collateral damage. Cause fighting villains the meaning of his life just like meaning of Jokers life is a kill for fun.
What u said actually makes sense.. nuff said
You see the ending - Thalia died, but Batman don't even blinked. But when Joker dies he about to cry like ten years girl. Cause he lost the one that keeps him alive and busy.
U should be saying that to all the heroes then
luis G ayala Frank Castle disagree with your post. Ghost Rider also
I think this is one of the most interesting side of batman as a character. There does seem to be some truth behind the idea that batman can not exist without his enemies, more specifically the joker. I'd consider myself a pretty avid comic fan and I can't really think of another character thats more defined by his rogue gallery. Just ask anyone and as soon as you say batman the next thing to come into your head is joker, 2face, mr freeze, riddler this list goes on.
I've always enjoyed looking at the batman character from a analytical angle and even in higher forms of writing I'd say its still somewhat uncommon to have a protagonist tied in so deeply with your antagonist where one without the other is not really a story at all.
Joker's laugh when Batman said he would have saved him, gives me chills every time.
Now I really want to play Harley Quinn's revenge
Wondeful ending, but is no one talking about the positive pregnancy test near Harley's old suit?
That'd be because in the dlc they reveal that she wasn't really pregnant.
Yeah, I watched it, but it's really sad how she lost the child :'( Thank you though!
Lol clayface just wanted awards like joaquin and heath. He knows that playing the joker gets you an Oscar.
RIP Kevin
