I’m a beginner of ASL SK1, and keep searching and reading tutorials from bgg and CZcams in recent months, obviously you are the Best! Crystal clear voice over and graphics, in depth explanation. I will stop my searching, you are the best and only one I need, hope you keep working on it, SK2,3…. Thanks again 🙏
There are of course some very minor errors; however, I think you have done a bang-up job and this is a great intro into the world of ASL. Great work! The only thing I would "correct" is to call the sides of the counters "Broken" and "Unbroken". "Good Order" is a very specific definition. That's it!
Wah-hooo!!!! I was hoping you would cover this eventually, and so was the wife! It took many years for me to grok ASL Starter Kit 1, and every time me an' the Mrs. sat down with it, we would have to relearn it. :( This will aid us in playing the game immeasurably, and we especially look forward to seeing you tackle routing. Have fun! 😁
Demolition Charges: Rule 23.1 ASL. The defender’s TEM applies to the resolution of the attack, but leadership modifiers do not. Old fella here; not familiar with ASLSK. No TEM for flame thrower. Enjoy your videos, great presentation and voice. Carry On.
Nice video. On the morale check portion it should be mentioned that a final DR equal to a unit's morale level results in the unit becoming Pinned. Also crews, which are MMCs, can self rally without a leader. 10:50 units can double-time without the presense of a leader.
Thanks for the clarification! For some reason I have it stuck in my head that the double-time ability is only triggered by a leader. Love your channel, BTW! Everyone be sure to check it out!
Wow! I love your Tide of Iron tutorial, i used it to the learn the game. I’m excited for this one, as I just got asl starter 1 a few months ago, but every time I’ve opened the rules my eyes glaze over. Cheers!
Outstanding video. I would say that your vids together with ASL ACADEMY bootcamp vids, stews sk vids at Vasling with stew are great places to start the never ending ASL learning journey. Other good vids and written as well , including Jay Richarson’s written SK tutorials.
Awesome tutorials! I am so glad you do these videos. The majority of the games you have on this video I already own so watching these helps me so much in the learning process. A few of your games convinced me to buy some too
Glad to see you're finally tackling the holy grail of wargaming. P.S. just one correction though. ELR only reduces if the morale check exceeds the ELR number and not equals it as indicated in the video. Might want to put a correction at the start of your next vid
Thank you for this really great video. There are many war gamers in Korea who are interested in ASL, but they struggle because of the language barrier. Can I ask you one favor? Can I dub your video in Korean and post it on my channel? The source will be clearly identified and no profit will be made. If you allow it, Korean war gamers will be very happy.
Just bought this after playing original Squad Leader for many years. I’m learning that they seem to have added a ridiculous amount of complexity for seemingly no benefit. Why do you need a special rule set for smoke? What exactly is so difficult about throwing a smoke grenade that makes it likely to fail? I’ve thrown smoke grenades…you’d have to be a drooling idiot to not be able to throw one successfully.

Great graphics, great VO and great video length!!!
A very clear explanation of the counters in the starter kit.
If you could compile your rule content into print, the result would be far more readable than the actual ASL and starter kit rule books.

I encourage people to use everything that's out there. This is a complex game and you need all the help you can get.

Very useful! Thanks!
Very well done! Looking forward to future installments.

Great visual explanation! Cant wait for the next episode.
Great stream. Look forward to the next one in the series.
super!!!
Wow! I can't believe you have crossed this line into ASLSK!
Thank you very much for making these!!
Ben, you are SOOOOOOOO good at this!!!!
With the recent update to the ASL rules, the eRulebook is now 714 pages. Just some light reading. Laughing face emoji.
Just leave a copy in the bathroom... and take lots of bathroom breaks. You'll get through it in no time. Thumbs up emoji.
This was a great video
In the ASLSK rules, DCs may only be placed.

You may. Go ahead.
@@harsh-rules Thank you on behalf of Korean war gamers.
