- Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has opened up on the brewing crisis between him and the Deputy Governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu.
Speaking at meeting with the elders and leaders of the party from Etsako, in Edo North weekend, Governor Obaseki said his deputy’s actions amounted to a coup and an attempt to forcefully remove him from office
You call him to discuss and when he lives he does something else, this was exactly what the monarch remarked of him at the palace during settlement between APC Ize Iyamu and PDP Obaseki.

Don't be too fast if it's as governor just explained to us .and also don't be greedy this is not your time .I know you have everything to be a governor but wait for your time .this time is for the ESAN if as a democrat like you always say then let the people decide not even the governor himself .if at all you have a conscience. You have enjoyed a whole lot for 8 years .don't you think is too soon atleast ?? We will not support this your ambition to be the next governor of Edo state .I know you have the money and human capital as forecast .we will eat your money I am straight out to you .despite the fact that even the current speaker of EDHA is from your Edo North. Please respect the governor he has been a very good boss to you cos from all we all know he always carry you along and never relegated you or undermined you .and I trust him he will do the right thing as a strategist that he is . So don't get the party into another disorganisation because of what you just want for yourself .THIS IS MY HUMBLE ADVISE ..YOU HAVE BERN LOYAL SO REMAIN LOYAL TO THE END .

So the governor should fold his hands n allow the deputy to make arrangement with the newly elected EDHA member on who will be speaker of the house??... Ehnnn na so una be... Same deputy that thinks the governor will not support his governorship ambition's..
The deputy is a hard core politician, Obaseki is aware of what he can do , if deputy could do Oshiomole dirty , Obaseki knows, once he gets his person as the speaker n with his State presence n influence , he could possibly push for impeachment despite his tenure coming to an end....
The deputy understands the power of incumbency as a governor, even right from the primaries....
