    20 years, over 4 Million CR-V's later and still Hondas' CR-V enters 2017 with a bang!
    New from the ground up is the 2017 Honda CR-V. The SUV that helped start it all is back in fresh new duds ready to wow all those who are graced with its presence.
    Whether you choose the LX 2.4 or Touring 1.5T, you'll be treated to the best in the business in terms of reliability, practicality, styling and more.
    With a new all wheel drive system for the new year, Honda has ensured that their consumers living in the snow belt are well cared for regardless of what nature throws their way. And for those chilly mornings heated front seats and mirrors come standard on the EX trim and above. You can even add a heated steering wheel to any model!
    Driver and passenger alike will appreciate the plethora of cubbies, cup & bottle holders, padded surfaces and USB charging ports. Rear seat passengers will especially love the additional 2.1" of legroom that have been added, along with the reclining rear seatbacks.
    Phenomenal on road handling characteristics blended with stellar fuel efficiency and a quiet ride are just the cherry on top of this award winning SUV.
    Available in four trim levels, four new exterior colors and three interior colors finding the right fit won't be hard. Not looking back once you've parked may be.
    Grappone Honda is located in Bow, NH just south of Concord and only 20 minutes from Manchester. Conveniently located at the intersection of I89/I93 - come see why we are Driven to Amaze!

    This is one of the best auto reviews I've seen - comprehensive, useful information, clear, concise, and a nice (useful real-life AWD demo) wintry trip through a charming New England town! Thanks for the great video. I'll be checking here first for reviews from now on.

    I bought a 2018 CR-V LX and I’m loving it to the fullest. Plenty of power, room, and features. It has superior handling. The sound system is powerful. The only thing I can wish for is the CD player. The 2018 doesn’t have CD players, but I can do without since most of my music is listened via Bluetooth. This is a 💯 knockout. Way to go HONDA 💪🏽.

    Great review. Leased a '17 EX-L in Deep Olive Metallic. The review was spot on. The car is sometimes so quiet at low speeds that it seems that the engine is not running. One thing he failed to mention is the ACC when engaged in low speed traffic will bring the car to a complete and if the gas pedal is not engaged for about 15 seconds, there is a "stopped" information message that comes up on the main screen in front of the driver. If the car ahead begins to move, the cruise control picks up on that and the car returns to the control status. Pressing the "resume button or just a light touch on the accelerator will do the same thing. I am 74 and this car is easy for my creaky old bones to get in and out of, very comfortable with the heated seats and I truly love the adjustable lumbar support for my tired old back. I have driven this car for extended times - over 3 hours at a stretch with no discomfort or problems. I test drove nearly every other compact SUV and dollar for dollar the CRV came out on top. Price was negotiated down to $28K with a $291 through with my local Honda Dealer (Stirling Honda) and I am well pleased with everything. I may be a bit biased as this is my 3rd CRV - 2002, 2009, 2017 and they have all been virtually bullet proof with nothing more required except routine maintenance. Couldn't ask for more!

      I'm sure those videos are meant for the passengers. If your looking at videos while driving, that's called "distracted driving" and a $500 fine and 3 point against your license my friend.

      What are you talking about? Who said anything about watching these videos when I'm driving? I'm talking about wanting to see the road he's driving while I'm watching this video, sitting here at home. My suggestion was for him, so next time he edits his next video, he'll hopefully place the other video in the other corner so we can watch the POV video.

  • @subsk93
    @subsk93 Před 7 lety +1

    Thanks for suggesting me to watch this video! I really liked it! Definitely, helps me in choosing an SUV that I would want by narrowing down my choice of preferred cars from 3 to 2 - Honda CR-V and Mazda CX-5. I agree that this year's model does look more handsome than last year's, a friend of mine also showed me a picture of the Honda CR-V 2018 and that looked even better. Considering a number of features that you get in an EX model I am certainly impressed, it definitely distinguishes itself as a better utilitarian as compared to the CX-5. However, CX-5 does have a more elegant look, with the more luxurious feel and better driving and handling performance. Although CX-5 can't match the EX model with the lesser number of features it offers for its CX-5 Touring model.

      I got the EX myself. For me it had everything I was looking for (heated seats, moon roof, Honda Sensing) without the added cost of leather. I ended up swapping out the headlight bulbs to something brighter than the stock halogens and I am fully pleased, no wishing for the Touring headlights.

    That windscreen wiper - headlight feature, I noticed that my 2015 BMW 330 did that. Although it is also possible that the dark rain clouds here made the environment darker and the auto-lights switched on.

    First, THANK YOU for doing a review on the non-Touring model. I am strongly considering the 2017 CRV to replace a 2010 Subaru Forester. I would love to hear your thoughts on the differences in features between the EX and EX-L (aside from leather) as I am weighing pros and cons, especially price. Thanks for the review; it was VERY helpful!

    • @GrapponeAutomotiveGroup
      @GrapponeAutomotiveGroup  Před 7 lety

      Funny you mention that, I went from an 09' Forester to the 17' CR-V. Aside from leather, the differences between EX & EX-L are few. The EX-L adds two tweeters in the rear for a total of 8 speakers (same radio as EX), a power passenger seat, memory for the power drivers seat, an auto dimming rear view mirror and a power tailgate. In this trim you can opt for the Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System ($1k) - keep in mind that the GPS in your smartphone is equal to or better (so long as you have a cell signal) and can be streamed to the headunit via Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. The EX is equipped with heated front seats, a moonroof, smart access, Honda Sensing, Display Audio headunit and so much more - I absolutely love mine! I am also averaging 30-33MPG per tank of gas with ECON on, A/C off most of the time in a 50/50 mix of city/hwy driving. Let me know if I can help you out with any other questions!

    for the vibration test the older 2015-2016 vibrated hard when the vehicle was at a stoplight or stop sign, to simulate the vibration the car has to be in drive with your foot on the brake not in park mode if its anything like the 2015 and 2016 it should vibrate then. I have a 2015 and have since had honda fix the issue but thats how you can test for it.

  • @zroger73
    @zroger73 Před 7 lety +1

    My 2008 Infiniti G35 would lower the fan speed while listening for voice commands. That feature has been around for years in brands other than Honda. My 2017 Ridgeline does it, too. Wiper-activated headlights have also been around for many years in various brands. Automatic high beams have been around since 1952 when they first appeared in Cadillacs and Oldsmobiles. Although Honda has made improvements the last several years, they've historically been somewhat behind the technology curve - instead choosing to keep things simple and reliable. Unfortunately, their implementation of some "cutting edge" technology hasn't worked out so well. I've enjoyed the seven Hondas I've owned including my current 2017 Ridgeline RTL-E, but some of the higher-end tech doesn't work as well as it should. The previous CEO of Honda really hurt the company. I'd still rather buy a Honda than any other brand, but they're not what they used to be while their competition has made significant improvements.

Neither of us noticed any as we drove about in the city/stoplights/traffic etc. This is an entirely new engine for the CR-V and since Honda was aware of the issue for the 2015/16 model I'm sure they eradicated it for 2017.

    • @GrapponeAutomotiveGroup
      @GrapponeAutomotiveGroup  Před 7 lety

      The HR-V is a compact crossover based on the Honda Fit platform whereas the CR-V is a small crossover based on the Honda Civic platform. Both offer available AWD, come with CVT transmissions and can carry 5 people. The CR-V is definitely the larger, more mature of the two. It also comes in more trim levels with more standard and optional equipment. The HR-V gets better fuel mileage and is easier to maneuver and park in tight places. I recommend checking them both out back to back to determine which fits your needs, budget and personality best!

    I've been hearing complaints about wind and road noise, how is yours doing?

    • @GrapponeAutomotiveGroup
      @GrapponeAutomotiveGroup  Před 6 lety

      I wouldn't say it's enough to complain about, but it is is something Honda could work on. 98% of the time I have music going, but when I don't there is some wind noise around the B pillars around 60 MPH, that changes to mirror noise around 70. It is not obnoxiously loud, just there. As for road noise, it's pretty well in check. There is tire noise, but again not enough to be bothersome to me. I'm sure different tires will have an effect on this, I have the stock Bridgestones currently but will be switching to dedicated winter tires soon.

    • @308_Negra_Arroyo_Lane
      @308_Negra_Arroyo_Lane Před 6 lety

      Yes, all the CR-Vs come with ANC now. To my knowledge it is working (you can't turn it off to test), like I mentioned the tire noise isn't loud. I would recommend taking one out for a good drive and listening for yourself if the road noise that makes it into the cabin is bothersome to you - I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

      Geoff G, it seems to depend on what type of device you are using. CarPlay/Android Auto will show album artwork, as will Pandora. It is possible that something such as an iPod or MP3 player will also, but for that I can't comment since I didn't try it. Maybe an owner can though.

    Over all it's been a good car-really nice re-design. But keep in mind I've had mine for only 3wks now. There is a slight lag on exceleration-but is good once it goes beyond that initial 1 or 2 sec. My only complaint at this time-BLACK interior!! It shows EVERYTHING and I am driven mad by it. I have the EX-L 4 WD. It is an easy car to drive, responsive, nice road feed back. AND it's pretty quiet cabin-the one thing which caused me to buy a Toyota 4 Runner back in 2006 over Honda.

      W-_-T I was thinking of getting fwd and winter tires on it because there was no difference. and I hate the fact that if one tires wears out all 4 will need to be replaced is that still true on this car?

    • @omgitsme435
      @omgitsme435 Před 7 lety +1

      In general they'll wear out around the same time regardless. And if you notice the front going first, people also rotate the tires. It's not like this car is a 300HP RWD. But AWD does help cornering grip and less hassle off straight line when you need the power. AWD also carries a higher resale later, people just like having it, if not needed anyway
