    There is absolutely no car on the roads like this, it is beautiful (a piece of art), very responsive, and comfortable. The other cars which come anywhere close to this may cost you twice or perhaps three times as much. The only problem??? I live in Maine, USA which means it has to stay in the garage for at least 4 months, snow and salt on the road are my enemies.

      @@mfmf100 generic car platforms mean that really... if you were to work it out from the history... it's very likely all a bunch of Buick. Can't remember off the top of my head which saloon car chassis the 350Z is based on, but at that time Nissan was 50% owned by Renault. All the corporate cars are the same sandwich, basically, but the 00s Z platform is very much generic saloon car - as the designer of the 240z said - it is very similar to say a bluebird or the leopard, and at least it has proper double wishbone front suspension, rather than the dreaded macpherson strut, which is only really suitable for aircraft undercarriage wheels - and are largely a trick to improve crash safety - using the collapsible steering system to write off the vehicle as profitably as possible.

    I bought a 2019 370Z sport coupe all-black 6M and love the car. It's an old-school performance sports car with some modern-day refinements but at its heart it is a narrowly focused driver's car, as I exactly wanted. The design philosophy was based on the Porsche Cayman S with the intent to match the performance as closely as possible at an affordable price to purchase and to maintain. I like the S-mode rev matching and have played with it but I still prefer manual blipping of the throttle during downshifts, to maintain my touch and sense of timing for the gear changes. Since the car is such a capable car in the handling department, I can focus my efforts on refining my driving techniques to get smoother and more precise handling. The car makes my daily drive to work and back, plus my occasional road trips in the canyons and mountains of Northern California, a real treat in trying to perfect my driving skills. It's not the car for everybody, or even most, but for those who appreciate what this car was designed to do, and not do, it is a real gem at an affordable price. I recently added Hotchkis stiffer sway bars front and rear which virtually eliminated body roll and greatly sharpened up the steering response, with the tradeoff of somewhat more ride harshness.

      @@Greylin91 If you're a driving enthusiast you won't regret getting one; you'll only wonder why you didn't get it sooner. What I also forgot to mention about the car is how much it turns heads when I'm parked at a curb and there's pedestrian traffic walking by or when I'm stopped at a light. Part of that may be due to the fact that I had a multi-stage paint correction and ceramic coating done on the car that gives the car a very deep wet glossy look that always looks as if it's been freshly waxed. I'm in the process of having some of the bright metal badging removed or blacked out, making it look even more sinister and aggressive.

    The thing about owning a Z is that it's in a class of its own that hardly exists anymore. Besides the Miata, BRZ/86 and the Z4/Supra, there are very few modern roadster offerings at all. This presents a problem when racing as you are, at least in theory, either punching well above or well below your weight most of the time, but what's crazy is that I worry much more about losing to awd turbo hot hatches than I do V8s.

    And it's internal. Which means you'll be fucked by labors costs once it's out of the 35k mile warranty.

    • @MotordyneG35
      @MotordyneG35 Před 7 lety +1

      On my G35, the slave is external and it still fails too. Easy access though being external. Buy it from O'rileys auto with a lifetime warranty for $40. Replace it, for free, every time I flush the slave cylinder. GTR brake fluid is what nissan called for the help make the slave last longer, it does seem to work. I did a stainless steel line and wrapped it DEI heat tape to keep the fluid from turning black. I figured the internal design would keep it away from the heat, but then I saw it was actually a design flaw from stretching the lip too far in the cylinder and thinned the metal too much, not heat is making them fail. Mine is external and sees the elements is why it fails so I think they put it internal thinking that would solve that issue. Having to drop the transmission to replace the slave is ridiculous, in their effort to make it last longer.
