That’s something I miss a lot about OG halo. The armor permutations meant something in the game, they didn’t just mean “hey guess how I got this, I bought it with money!”. Back in the halo 3 and reach days, you got the armor because you managed to pull something off. I hope one day gaming goes back to that again because that time was a lot more fun than lowering your bank account to get a useless skin

Halo Reach had the best armor customization in the whole series i remember grinding for certain armor sets/peices and in pretty much every halo since i have just left my character default because none of the armors look good or feel impactful. The armor in halo reach felt much more impactful and important, even tho a General actually had same health as a default it FELT and LOOKED alot stronger, like all the time and effort you put in to the game was actually rewarded.
Operator was one of my favourites from reach, just cos it had a relatively unique visor shape without being super boxy or looking too much like EVA or Security. Nice middle ground between JFO and Air Assault

At a certain point all of the others start to look similar because of the lack of variety in visor shapes, the fact GUNGNIR has no visor is why it slaps imo
I find the helmet cool asf it looks intimidating. All helmets have a visor and you know there is a person behind it, makes them look more human in a way, but GUNGIR has a eye hole and look inhuman compared to the other making it look threatening as fuck IMO

They used sensors and cameras to do a display inside the helmet, but because of the uncanny feeling those helmets gave it messed with the moral of the marines who worked around them. (TLDR Helmet doesn't have visor, it's just a sticker :P)
