One of the best songs I’ve heard in the past 10 years....and their Canadian! Ya for us! Well done guys. Keep up the good work. If this song doesn’t get you pumped or bring a tear of joy and excitement... stop listening to music.
This song reminds me so much of some of the 80"s music!!!!!! Takes me back and reminds me so much of some of the great music, then...... Great song!!!!!!!!!

There's movement in the stillness. Our hearts will be the sound, so we're raising our voice together, no way were standing down! We won't back down! That's one of the most beautiful lyrics I've ever heard.

Dear Rouge, just saw your show at Richmond hill centre, simply amazing, So appreciate the 110% effort despite the crowd being small. I was totally impressed by the polished professionalism and the skill level of your band. Especially considering a lot of the songs are quite complex and require the band to shift seamlessly from bass and guitar to keyboards and back.
CBC Radio 2? or CHUM? When I lived at 74 Howland, near Bloor and Bathurst, CHUM was the #1 pop station. Now, back home, I listen to CBC 2 Nightstream, and try and ID the songs from their playlist, then find them here.
That's exactly what I do, too!! There's a great french station in T.O., that plays a lot of great french stuff CHOQ fm, while CBC Nightstream is on. I'm usually going back and forth between the 2 stations (that is, when I actually do have time to listen to the radio). My problem with CHOQ, though, is that my french is so terribly poor to non existant, that I've had absolutely no luck finding any of the great songs I've heard there. :'(
I was lucky to catch this song on the radio when I was in Vancouver a few years back and I was hooked. What a shame they're completely unknown in the US.
Bad blood is indeed one of the best tv shows I ever seen. Music is also awesome.nevwr heard before about dear rouge . I m now collecting all their songs
That's why I'm glad I live just across the lake from Toronto. CFNY 102.1 is my favorite radio station. There's a lot of fantastic music that never gets air time in the US. Our radio stations push mass produced cookie cutter bands who's songs all sound the same.
Honestly the singer and her man are two of the nicest people I've ever met in my life. They performed in my hometown (Ridgeway) at the Sanctuary for the arts (above brimstone brewery) a few years ago, they answered every question in a meet and greet after the show (for free), said how much they loved Ridgeway. Totally blew me away.
This song has a sound that draws you in like a sirens call, like a song that plays as the credits roll of the greatest movie you have ever seen and you keep watching and listening because you don't want the magic to end. Keep it up Drew and Danielle!
***** It's blocked in the US because they're afraid this woman's voice would dethrone the no-talent hacks like Miley Virus and Taylor Swif.....what's her name!
robtec88 Dear Rouge is not "blocked" in the US but they do have laws for their radio and television content to meet the minimum American content. Just like we have CAN-CON laws of our own to set the minimum for Canadian content. When it comes to Canadian artists blowing-up in the US (the ones that don't have wealthy friends in the business working in the US), unless they tour exhaustively in the US, they can really only rely on certain cities along the US border that pick-up Canadian radio stations to spread interest in their music. Buffalo, Detroit and Cleveland are good examples of large American cities that can pick-up our radio stations that push 50,000-watt+ signals and actually report listening to a lot of Canadian radio content broadcasting from the surrounding areas. But these cities by themselves are really not influential enough to spread our music around the country....unless the song is incredible and can't be ignored.
Hope to see/hear a lot more from these two in the coming years. I think they're one of the best "bands" to come out of Canada in a very long time. I love they're musical style/leanings, and her voice... it's just absolutely amazing! Great stuff, all 'round!

Thanks for posting the lyrics. Though to me, the 5th line of the 1st verse sounds more like "but the light gave us a rest" at 0:47, listen... you can hear an "st" sound that finishes the word, rather than a "th" sound. Works either way.
+Tacia Amostis acute observation my friend, that can tell how deeply you were involved while listening, and besides the lyrics are meaningful not like Taylor Swift, stupid bf stories. The word in songs have their own pronunciation, the singer uses his own way of pronouncing the words, like the band "police" song "in the name of love", there's a part where he use the word "justify", the way he sang that word" justify"was so eloquently done, that it gave a total new meaning. I love this particular song, no one can top that for sure..:)

The path is drawn, we won't get off track
Vision changed from black to gold
And we were frozen in our steps
But the light gave us a breath
Vision changed from black to gold
[Pre-Chorus]
Ground below us shaking
Air we breathe is changing
Clouds above us clearing
[Chorus]
There's movement in the stillness
Our hearts will be the sound
So we're raising our voice together
No way we're standing down
(We won't back down)
[Verse 2]
And there's a calm before it breaks
Our action's not erased
When stages come to life
[Pre-Chorus]
Ground below us shaking
Air we breathe is changing
Clouds above us clearing
[Chorus]
There's movement in the stillness
Our hearts will be the sound
So we're raising our voice together
No way we're standing down
We won't back down
[Bridge]
With every second, shadows lift
Every moment, closer still
Can you feel it?
[Chorus]
There's movement in the stillness
Our hearts will be the sound
So we're raising our voice together
No way we're standing down
We won't back down
We won't back down
