  • In this guitar lesson I will show you how to play a vocal melody arrangement of "Escape" by Rupert Holmes. Better known as the "Pina Colada Song." This tune has a really cool guitar part utilizing triads in different parts of the neck. We're going to keep the integrity of the song while adding in the vocal melody. We will do this by using 3rds and 6ths in between the chord changes. By continuously revisiting the triads used in the song between melodies, it will help bind the song together so there is not any gaps as we switch between rhythm and lead. I'm playing the rhythm slightly funkier, and the guitar solo is arranged in a Clapton like fashion. A great song to use as practice for working on your rhythm and triads. Until next time, practice with a beat and have fun! @borderlineguitarguy
