In this video we explore some bunkai for the opening sequence of Tekki / Naihanchi Nidan. Once the techniques have been covered, the video then looks at how we should “add in the dirt” i.e. practise the methods of the kata in context. The emphasis is on applying the bunkai of the kata, in combination with other methods, in a dominating, free-flowing way in order to facilitate escape. This makes the practise of the bunkai more realistic and is a vital step along the way to live practise.
As always, this short clip can’t cover the entirety of the methodology and it is no substitute for learning the bunkai and the supporting process first hand. Such methods should only be practised under the supervision of a suitably qualified and experienced person.
Thanks for the support of this channel!
    All the best,
    Iain

Osu! I started karate at Kobayashi shorin-ryu style, and, nowadays, I'm shito-ryu practitioner. even I never been in a Ryuei-ryu dojo, I practice anan, anan dai, paiku, pachu and heiku, but all bunkais I know about that kata is only omote level. About your karate style: did you ever saw Ohan kata? I never saw it, and I don't know anyone who has seen it.
      regards from Brazil...
