This video was filmed at a weekend seminar I taught in Kansas in September 2013. This clip looks at the application of the "lower block, punch, step across, block" sequence.
This short clip is taken from a full weekend of training and viewers should be aware of that. The applications shown are part of a much larger methodology and the nature of this short clip obviously means the overall context cannot be communicated.
If you'd like to learn more, please attend a seminar or see my DVDs / Downloads which are available form the shopping side of iainabernethy.com. "Beyond Bunkai: A Holistic Naihanchi / Tekki Shodan Close-Range Flow Drill" would be the DVD / Download to view in this case.
    All the best,
    Iain

It's nice the way he breaks things down & makes sure people are clear about 'where he's coming from'. He also offers options as 'nothing is guaranteed' in an altercation.

Very nice Bunkai. I’ve been a maratial artist for near 40 years and have watched many of your videos. I am also a jazz guitarist and don’t understand why you teach things so well and have music that is nowhere near the level of what you’re presenting. It actually is A very low standard for what you are presenting. So many of these you tubes other than yours do he same thing. Why even have such music? When it really lowers the presentation of so many who have great Bunkai. Raise the level of that out of respect for the Masters, or have none at all would be much better than what I hear as your introduction and ending. Much respect.

Thanks for the kind words about the bunkai! Personally, I like the music :-) CZcams has a library of copyright free music people can use; so it’s likely you’ll hear the same music across the various channels. I pick the punk and rock stuff that appeals to me personally, but I appreciate it’s not to everyone’s tastes :-)
