I watched another short before this one that explained the difference which is that chicago stuffed pizza has a layer of dough in between the sauce and cheese whereas deep dish doesn't and has the cheese and sauce touching.

Sausage looked raw asf, mah dude u failed hardcore
A layer of dough in between? I can't see that later being nothing but under cooked. J S

@@danny_hampton that's because the issues appear in long term

Everyone hates on it until they try it. My girlfriends from florida and always shit on deep dish, took her to chicago on the south side where I’m from, loved it. She wanted to bring one home
@Jackopolius "girlfriend's" as in "girlfriend is" I suppose
Having tried on class trip to Chicago, it sucks imo.
I read this in Chicago voice, best thing i did all day 😂😂
@@JackopolyWasTakendude seems to have some self respect. Doubt it.
yeah no when I moved to Illinois and took a trip up to Chicago my wife and I tried it and regretted it
this is a cold weather pizza. evolved and adapted for the Chicago climate, in which the thin floppy new york slices would surely perish
I've only been to NY. Is Chicago colder than NY?
I live in northern maine much colder than Chicago and your comment makes no ticking sense

Him being extra by mimicking Chicago accent boosted authenticity and made the video extra as hell 😂
It was awful he tried so hard it ended up sounding like an Italian mafia boss from new york
I worked at Giordanos in Chicago and this is pretty much perfect. Still do it the same way at home
Bro as being born and raised in Chicago I gotta give you a A plus that looked really good and authentic stuffed pizza

I’m from the east coast and I never thought I’d like this type of pizza until I went to Giordano’s in Chicago and it’s that good 😌
Casciani's in Hodgkins outside Chicago has the best stuffed pizza I've ever had. it feels like it weighs about 40 pounds in the box. They also make a great, medium, thick regular pizza. Giordano's is excellent, especially considering it's a chain. But it's not a big chain.
the point is that no one is saying that it's bad, it's just that it's not a pizza, it's a really good torta salata (idk the english name of it, i just know the italian one) and yeah, in italy we eat something similar, but it's a different thing
@@zemat762 would it be better described in English as a type of pie?
You think that’s good, wait until you try Malnatti’s.
@@zemat762it is a pizza, the deffenition of pizza is broad, in fact the use of the name pizza predates the use of tomatoes in italy, there are types of pizza that omit the tomatoes or cheese or sometimes both.
The term pizza likely originates from a roman flatbread called Pannis Focaccus (might have misspelled it)
I can respect your opinion but the term is literaly so broad that people dont even know what the orriginal meaning meant, although people do have ideas that it first started from flatbreads with toppings.
An early example would be people topping flatbreads with figs, rasins, seasonings, and other stuff.
as a chicagoan we do not sound like that 😭

I’d say the top crust makes it a meat pie

Normal pizza isn't a pie.
@@KJB-46 You're wrong, but thank you for your contribution?
@@eXpriest nope not at all. You're confidently incorrect I guess.
@@KJB-46 Define pie.
I think people are too pretentious about what constitutes pizza. Italian pizza has always been a very casual food, and the right way to make it is whatever way you like best.
Really, deep-dish pizzas aren’t so far off from Torino pizzas, one of the many regional variations that still very much count as pizza.
Screw pizza , that’s a whole ass cheesecakez
Oh yeah. I'd eat that
Cheesus Christ!! I wanna make this
Looks delicious
For those saying don't abuse allergies. As a pizza maker it doesn't matter if they're faking or not. It's better to just get it done then guess. We are happy to accommodate even if you wanna accommodate your diet.
Chicago moment 💀
This is not a casserole, it is a pie.
A pizza pie.
"Cheeseus" 😂😂
Real pizza-pie.
It’s a “put it in my mouth and call it whatever you want”
Chicago stuffed is the fucking BEST
deep dish is a whole category of deep pizzas, so if it looks like a deep dish then it is a deep dish
What I learned from this video is, don't make your own crust. Instead, just buy it from the pizza place.
It's a Pie....a Pizza Pie... Beautiful ❤️
Showed this video to my lactose intolerant friend and he immediately combusted.
Looks amazing
When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie
Chicago pizza (stuffed and deep dish) is the only type that should be allowed to be called a “pie”. The dough is closer to pie pastry and it has some depth. Any other type of “normal” pizza is just “pizza”.
Also not sure what you consider a casserole, if this could be potentially considered one.. does that mean an apple pie could be a casserole?
Needs about double the sauce brother, maybe put in a fair amount on top of the sliced cheese before putting in remaining items.
No diss, still looks bomb; I would not be complaining if that was put in front of me!❤
Not only do you not understand pizza but you are definitely not from Chicago
@@DankOrDie You’re high.

That crunch was music to my ears
Bro thought we wouldn’t notice that BEAUTIFUL smile in the corn thing idk
This is a legit fix to the original soupy chicago style pizza. Look at how it maintains itself without losing any flavor.
Edit: that is true pie. Like he said , it's closer to a pie than pizza. But since pizza is called a "pie" as well, then why tf not, makes it live to the nickname properly.
it’s that crust over the cheese. When it’s just cheese it melts and pull the sauce with it. The extra crust acts like cardboard in a book cover.
Idk why America is so opposed to savory pies in general.
Deep dish is not supposed to be soupy...if your deep-dish pizza is soupy, you are at the wrong place. In my opinion, Uno/Due gets it right...the "sauce" is just whole Roma tomatoes that are hand-crushed.
The brother's that started Giordano's back in the 1970s based their stuffed pizza on their mom's pizza rustic (Easter pizza). I think they were better before they became a chain (when they were still at their 63rd and California location), but they still make a wicked pie.
@@MikeB3542 great insight. Thanks for the info Mike. :)

Y’all really skipped right past the pie classification and went straight to casserole
Man i hear tht "BAWSTON" accent creeping through 🤣
crust is well done, got me craving a deep dish
Its heaven in a dish😊
That ain't a pizza no more
Sure it is, it's a pizza pie
I just made that for dinner, 1 sausage salami and mushrooms, and the other artichoke hearts salami and mushrooms. Bomb
Prefer cheese instead sauce on top. But I’m sure this tasted amazing.
indeed it is amazing, it may not be to many people and I can respect that but I had a slice of chicago stuffed pizza and it was amazing!
What I liked about it is having the sauce ontop makes the marinara flavor really pop out, with typical pizza you tend to get mostly cheesy & meaty taste which is good, but this is a more unique taste.
The one I had was called a "meat lover's" pizza and it had three types of meat in it, the thick layer of cheese and meat allows them to not get drowned out by the flavor of the sauce on top.
Over all I just found it to be a unique taste and a good balance of flavor. Sorry for the long write, and to any reading this that doesnt like chicago stuffed pizza I have this to say.
I respect your opinion, you have a kind you like and thats whats important. ^^
Try Chicago thin crust pizza. It's what real Chicagoans actually eat. Deep-dish is mainly touristy food.
fasho , I only eat Giordano's once every 5 or 6 months I love beggars or Italian fiesta, but it's plenty of other spot with great thin crust 💯
This remind me of that one scene from the boondocks
"Grandad you cant serve this to customers it will cause....death"
Bro whole point of cheese being at the bottom is it acts as a protective layer for the crust since the grease from the sausage will make it soggy but the cheese being under the sausage will stop it from seeping into the crust.
not a pizza.
not a casserole.
it's a pie.
It's chicago style, but it's also the definition of deep dish 😂 it was cooked in a dish.. that is deep.
This reminds me of the other video of a restaurant Chicago deep dish pizza that literally all the sauce came off the pizza like nothing. Unlike this one that had retained its integrity. Good stuff bro
"Cheesus" 💀
There is no such thing as a disturbing amount of cheese
It’s a like a cheese cake, pie and a pizza all in one
Cheesus, indeed✨
I sure would like to try one of those, at least once!
"Is this a pizza or cholesterol"
Since there's no sweet produce involved like apples or berries, it can't be pie.
And since there's a little extra work, compared to regular pizza, I proclaim this to be Chicago Pizza Quiche!
How can it be a quiche if it doesn’t have egg?
@@nooneinparticular469 it definitely ain't Pizza, so is it Pot Pie? Or Wellington, or ShakShuka?
No it's not even En Croute......just Avoid this Abomination.....it fails on so many levels......Burritos beat it hands down Everytime, no matter the ingredients!
If I decide to buy a pizza and get drunk on a weekend, I don't want to risk drowning in what is essentially a kiddy pool full of marinara and cholesterol. That being said, deep dish is certainly a guilty pleasure of mine and one of the most common things I make in my cast iron besides skirt and potatoes.
the way you said chicago sounded like a stereotypical asian man
It's a pie.
A heart attack pie.
A Cheesy Pizza Pie 🤤
Uhhhh you call it whatever as long as I get a slice!!!
I don’t care what it is. I only care about three things, does it look good, does it taste good, and will it kill me instantly?
No, no, yes
No, yes, and I am willing to take that risk.
That’s pizza and the most beautiful one that I have ever seen 🤤
*cooks it in a deep dish*
“This is not a deep dish pizza”
From Chicago, work on your Chicago accent. Stuffed and deep dish are used interchangeably. That is deep dish
This guys accent changed like 3 times I swear.
Sir that's a pie 🥧
INDEED, a Pizza Pie 🍕
I had one of these with like 1.5 lbs of tiny pepperoni scorches to perfection on top once in chicago during a layover. Im a southern man and proud of it, but id be the biggest yankee ever to have that pizza regularly. Sign me up Chicagoans
People who knock Chicago Deep Dish have not TRIED it. Too bad we can't find a decent one in Texas. Texans think Little Caesar's is gourmet.
Pizza is a flatbread, not a pie lol. That thing in the video is a pie
Pretty sure pizza is more about ingredients then bread shape? It’s got pizza dough, sauce, and cheese. That makes it a pizza
@@nevermore7285 well we often associate pizza with the ingredients but pizza seems to be derived from a flatbread. One of the predecessors to the pizza, if I am not mistaken, is a piece of bread that Romans ate off of like a plate. In fact there was this flatbread, which was referred to as a pizza, which people at in Italy 500 years ago. (There's a video called "500 Year-Old Pizza VS Today" where this guy shows how this pizza was made). So if that flatbread is a pizza and pizza napoletana are both pizze ("pizze" = plural of "pizza") then that means that pizza is more about flatbread than just ingredients. Not all pizze have tomato sauce. Look at the pizza bianca. Also, while the true etymology of the Neapolitan word "pizza" is unknown, it seems to come from the name of the Greek pita flatbread. I know maybe I made this reply too long but I just wanted to explain all the reasons. Oh, and btw I found a dictionary which said that "pizza" and "focaccia" are linguistic cognates, meaning that "pizza" is likely more about flatbread than anything
Deep dish pizza is only pizza if it can hold it's Integrity
Stuffed is decent. But I prefer deep dish. Stuffed gets dry when reheating leftovers. No need for the extra bread either.
for how much time do you let the pizza rest?
I can hear the italians screaming and crying
