It’s so funny to see the sims go like completely to kid friendly for the sims 4 & they’ve been slowly crawling back to more adult themes. They’re finally realizing that the fans who were here since the sims 1 are not little kids and are actually grown adults
even the sims 4 turns 10 this year, i was a kid when i first saw my friend playing this game at release. I’m not surprised they’re trying to pivot.
FINALLY!!!! Them going kid friendly never made any sense to me because this game is rated “T” not “E” for everyone.
I liked kid friendly and I loved sims 3 because we had cars, could make our own worlds, use our own designs ,etc. We had freedom to create in sims3
maybe they finally realised that those with the most money to spend aren't kids with their pocket money but grown ass adults, the majority of their fans given how old the series is.
I mean, people who were 10 when the game was released are now turning 20, makes sense. 😂

Its great you can make that choice but not everybody can.
I am in no rush to get this pack but as long as there are no reports of game corruption I might give it a shot about two weeks after release and look forward to how modders will enhance, manipulate, and sharpen features if the pack…like they always do.
Also, don't know if you realize this, but modders can then take this new system and make it better. Because to be honest, the mods barely do anything as is.

Can someone explain to me why they're going in a slightly more mature direction for their mostly older teenager to adult fanbase now at the end of the Sims 4's life after trying to be "family friendly" for so long? It's almost like they realized they made mistakes or something...
We say they're not leaks because leaks usually come from outside sources, like dataminers. With the sims, the call is ALWAYS coming from inside of the house. They release information early and anonymously on purpose and _then_ we get legit leaks from people who do some snooping.
I know “technically” its a leak when its not released on official Sims channels, but it very nearly times out every single time the same way. That’s no accident. Its basically marketing manipulation. Calling it a “leak” makes it sound like something you are not suppose to see yet.
I agree. A leak is something you are supposed to be preventing against.
This is my favourite theme for the sims. But I'm suprised that the shadow on the teeser moves in the way it does. It gives ww vibes. I wonder how far the sims team will take all the romantic animations. I can't wait.

I get that ea is leaking stuff on purpose (there’s no way it’s an accident anymore) but I really wish they didn’t leak so much. I miss when leaks used to just be screenshots and box art. Leaking the entirety of the pack really kills any hype for it

Honestly I'm excited glitches or not definitely interested.
I’m not particularly excited about more romantic events and interactions, I often find relationships just don’t matter that much. I’d love if this was an overhaul of the relationship system as a whole, it would be nice to have to care about the social connections my Sims have. That said, I think this is probably just a content update with some interactions and changes to the romance system. It seems the Sims team has started following the “cozy“ trends in video games, I know this isn’t new but I’ve noticed an increase over the past while. Horse Ranch, My Wedding Stories, The cooking update, the pastel kit, now this love and romance concept. These are all valid and very much real life things that a life simulation game should have. However, it seems that a lot of these themes are really giving ‘former self-identifying crazy cat lady’, ‘millennial woman with kids’, ‘live, laugh, love’, ‘Swifties during the RED era’ kind of energy. It’s pushing more mature themes, but also having them be ‘clean’ and lacking character. I’m saying this as a millennial myself, no hate to the moustache finger tattoo Girlies - I see you 💅
Yeah, the game is still far too easy and lacking personality, smexy times are not going to make it mature.

The eyelashes in the one picture I saw looked horrible compared to what we have with CC, so I wouldn’t get super excited unless you’re a console player. I say we wait & see.

Actually, the blog addressed this... for the BASE GAME update:
"Free for all players is the new Romantic Boundaries system that will allow you to customize your Sim's experience with boundaries and jealousy. You can now define how your Sims approach romantic relationships in terms of physical and emotional romantic exclusivity. This allows for Sims to date multiple Sims without impact to other relationships."

Your tone was real off on the comments about a leak and I would say you’re wrong. It does matter if it’s EA doing it on purpose. Because that is not actually a leak. It’s still marketing under the pretense of a leak. A leak by default would imply unintended release.

Nah, it's not a leak if they're the one leaking it. To use your comparison, if you shoot a hole in a water barrel with "the intention to drink" it's no longer a leak. It's a watering hole or faucet. Just put a valve on it

I hope the new release is less lackluster than current base game plus all expansions romance interactions. I am trying to have a very fun and passionate romance with two of my Sims but it’s dry, repetitive, limited, and uninspiring. I would never have played after Sims had the first games released like this.
Unless they havent shared half of the game, this is not worth $40. A pack at most. But also could just be an update.

i was so excited for my wedding stories and that really left me disappointed, so i have to admit i am not really excited for this at all. If it is as micro managed and buggy as wedding stories i could take it or leave it.

and from very talented modders that absolutely know more about the game than the devs

I think the people that think we're going to get something mature are going to be disappointed with this pack.
I think we're going to see a lot of recycled animations, and meaningless traits/ambitions. I think this pack will be particularly buggy af and is going to break the hell out of the game, poor molders.
