SCRIPT:
This is Numark’s newest DJ controller, geared towards beginners who wanna to get started in DJing.
Included in the Platinum FX, besides the basics, is Serato DJ Lite, two 6 inch capacitive jog wheels with - built-in color displays, 4 deck capabilities, 16 performance pads, 4 inch tempo faders, and exclusive FX paddles - similar to the ones on the Pioneer DJM-S9 and Rane 72.
Starting with the performance pads, they have a solid feel to them and are pretty responsive.
On the right side of each deck, you have a long 4 inch tempo slider similar to professional-grade equipment; which is often not present on small controllers.
I particularly love this, as it makes it super fun and easy to Beat match tracks, and adjust BPM’s.
In the center of each jogwheel is a built in color screen, which makes viewing important track details, such as their position, BPM, and running time, a lot more easier.
These jogwheels feel excellent when beat matching tracks. Their size and weight makes making precise beat and tempo adjustments quick and easy.
Now, moving to the mixer section, you have your standard 3-band EQ, volume faders, crossfaders and track selection knob. And all these components feel solid. Especially the faders. They all feel buttery smooth.
But the game changing feature of this controller, is the FX section. Numark decided to go with FX paddles for this unit, and I find them incredibly intuitive and fun to use.
The quality of the paddle is amazing and with how much weight you can feel when using them - I’d even argue that they feel better than the S9. Also, having dedicated buttons to select your desired FX such as Echo, reverb and more, is also great for selecting effects on the fly. It definitely beats going to your laptop, and selecting each effect one by one.
Speaking of laptop, this controller’s software of choice is Serato. And it works perfectly with Lite and Pro. Every feature and functionality this controller offers, integrates wonderfully and smoothly with the software regardless of versions.
And 90% of all your DJ needs as a beginner, can definitely be answered with this controller, and Serato DJ Lite

Is this compatible with virtual DJ
@@bimsbadejo1148 yes it is.
Reins Phoenix thank you
I was waiting for someone to comment “It’s not the equipment, it’s your skills that matter” 😂
That'll probably be you! Thanks for the comment and compliment :)
🔥🔥🔥👌😂😂😂
You’re everywhere, don’t you?
DJ Carlo Atendido 🙈😂😂
Perry Ell yeah, most active on CZcams.. After the Coffin dancers, of course 🤣
DJ Carlo Atendido, you helped me. I see in recommendation your video about 2 years ago. Then I start with djing and I think you help me so much. Djing is my life now. Thank you Carlo so much.
You're welcome buddy! Just happy to help you out in any way I can :)
I'm an Old School DJ from the early 90's, back then it was the Technics 1210 Mk2 and a Numark Mixer, and after watching your video, and the Perfomance Video, i got itchy fingers, just when i'm going to a Club, so i went ahead and bought one, 10 minutes ago! - So, from the bottom of my heart, Thank you very very much, this is like christmas all over again, except, now i'm very excited! ;o)
Thanks for the review Carlo ! Good job as always. I'm a DDJ 400 user, and i admit that i'm kinda jealous of the new Numark's screens + 4 channels :D
This is the inspiration am talking about. you are the best you made me start my CZcams videos tutorial on how to mix. More love for you bro
Thanks, man! Just trying my best to help the community out!
This is great! The first time I pressed play was on a Numark Mixtrack Pro 3 😅 What a journey it has been! Keep it up DJ Carlo 💪🏼
Wow! Those were the days! Thanks, buddy! Hope you give this new product a shot!
DJ Carlo Atendido Will definitely try it out if I can get my hands on one!
This thing fixed every problem people had with the Platinum and added more. I'm impressed
That's true! Hope you give this controller a shot!
That's actually a great price for this kind of controller
It's crazy. The paddle effects are soo good!
I love that they included color displays into their jog wheels at this price level. However, for that price I still prefer the DDJ-400 from Pioneer, which also has lots of features and includes a full rekordbox license. (So no lite software)
@@d0ubleg78 so Carlo wich1 wud i prefer to get ?
@@d0ubleg78 other than the full rekordbox licence, is there anything this doesn't have that the 4oo has?
I'm interested to know.
I own the old Numark mixtrack platinium and I love it, it such a fun controller the jogwheels are great and everything on the controller is quality. By far the best one on the market for the price and the new looks even better! I highly recommend it👌
Thanks for that! I agree with you 100%!
I love your videos, great information, and amazing editing!
Glad you like them! Thank you for watching! Woot woot!
Looks made for beat matching with the pro size tempo slides and joggers, ideal for starters.
Exactly! Glad you caught that!
Amazing video Carlo Arendido. Your videos are honest and well made. Thanks for the info.
Thanks Karel. Really appreciate that you mentioned honesty :) I really try to be as sincere as I can!
Bought this one used, but it was practically new and unused, for 165$. Cheaper than cheaper controllers. And I like its features more than some more expensive ones.
Its worth the full price too
It's pretty good value for money tbh! I'm just not a fan of the heavy jog wheels as a scratch DJ
great tutorial, beast of a DJ!
Thanks, Lewis! Thanks for checking out my latest video :)
Superb review! Thank you so much! My girl is just going loooooove her birthday present!!!! ✌
Ohhh that’s awesome to hear! I wish you all the best with that birthday present!
Planning of buying DDJ 400 but here it comes. Big jogwheel, wide range tempo, and the effect section. Looking forward for your recommendations. More power!
This could be a good contender!
@@djcarlo I rest for a while to prioritize things and want to go back again. Need something to practice and make sets more interesting. I like the club layout out on the DDJ 400 because on my recent gigs we use s9 and cdjs. But im torn between rekordbox and serato. Serato user since then but want to explore new things. Its just my hobby but need to decide maybe for long term goal but dont want to invest too much right this time.
After few years whats your thoughts on this controller compared to say FLx 4 and Hercules dj 500
Still wondering
Did they do a tension adjust on the fx 2 and did the keep the quality feel of the controller? Thank you very informative videos 👍🏽
Best entry level controller of 2020/21 Just purchased one of these and could not be happier, first mix sounded like it was out of a club. If you are planning on manual beatmatching DO NOT I repeat do not buy a pioneer entry level controller, the pitch faders on them are so small and sensitive it's a beyond a joke and the DDJ-SB3 doesn't even have a cue mix button for mixing through your headphones late at night, thank you numark !!!
I would like to see a remix set with this controller. More importantly, how would the paddles behave compared to knobs.
Might consider this once it comes to my country (MY).
Good suggestion! Wait till Saturday and you'll have your answer ;)
Oh sweet! Looking forward to that!
I have the number scratch there very good and the line faders are post fader to brill.
I glad this controller exist. As soon as I saw the FX paddles, I was like "YES!!!"
Are you gettttinnng this?
@@djcarlo It's the only controllers that has fx paddles. And, it's cheap. So, yeah... 😁
That intro flex was so dope🤤🤤Master🤯🤯
Edit: This controller is also amazing...both in pricing and performance 🤯🤯👍
Thanks buddy! Glad you enjoyed it! 😁
@@djcarlo Love it🥰
Just bought it and I couldn’t have asked for a better review.
PS: Holy s**t that scratching at the beginning caught me off guard. 💪🏻
Great! Glad you're enjoying your brand new controller man!
Can't wait to get this djcontroller
You'll love it!
Great review, one of my favorites! Question: do you know if the stock fader can be replaced with a innofader?
That is unlikely!
This one seems awesome, you have sold me on this. It seems like it has everything that i wanted on a beginner console, for a good price and i never heard of this one.
Hope you enjoy it when you got one!
demo scratch is actually impressive for bundget controller. and same wheels as on top denons. and screens .the value is crazy
Awesome.... Which one is the best on scratching this one or the mixtrack fx...? On your opinion
Hopping for the next video mixing with this awesome New Mixtrack Platinum DJ Carlo Atendido. :)
This Saturday ;) Wait for it out! It should be goooood
Hey Dj Carlo got a question buddy I currently started a few months ago with a ddj400 but want to upgrade and go with Serato so that I can stream via Tidal any recommendations thinking about picking up a ddj sx3 or maybe even getting turntables with the s9 mixer as I love to scratch and mix lol your videos inspire me. Watch em everyday. Thanks in advance!
Numark just had to drop this after I got the DDJ-400 lol,. The visuals on the jog wheels are convincing me, but I love Rekordbox!
Sup DJ Carlo, would u recommend this with Serato Pro or the DDJ 400? Thanks so much man been watching your vids to learn how to dj, thanks for the great content!
Both are awesome combos! Choose which software you want to use!
Hi, thanks so much for all your great video !
Brand new beginner here.
I just can't found anywhere the info about the sampler pads. Do we need to be with Serato DJ Pro to be able to add sample with the 4 pads ? I use the free Serato DJ Lite. and I try many times and ways to add something but nothing work. Thanks so much again !
Hi Carlos, I liked the review of the numark controller to my way of seeing, I liked it and I'm thinking of buying it. And the price is attractive for this controller.. keep doing those videos like that it's very interesting .. saludos amigo 🙏👊🎧👍
Thanks Luis! You've always been so supportive! :)
Can you change the color of the spinning lights on the jogging wheels? Or change the speed how fast the light turns? Need to know ASAP thank you
Amazing video thanks
Thank you so much! 🙌
Hey I’m starting to get into DJing and trying to get my first set of decks. I’ve been really looking at the DDJ 400s but with what’s going on at the moment. I’m not able to get them delivered to me till June/July time at the earliest. Could you maybe do some sort of comparison of these decks to the 400s and would these work with rekordbox? I’d like a controller which isn’t too basic and easy that it can get a bit boring but nothing too complicated or hard to start with
This won't work with Rekordbox DJ, but that is a good idea! Thanks for the suggestion!
I hope Dj Carlo can make a comparison between these two controllers.
I own the previous version the Mixtrack Platinum and have found the effects strength using the touch sensitive slide bar at the top not too user friendly. It’s fab for skipping through a song quickly though, which the Mixtrack FX doesn’t seem to have. I’m definitely torn between sticking and upgrading, but at the same time I’m just a bedroom DJ so don’t think I can handle anything too fancy yet and justify the upgrade to my wife who already puts up enough of me 😅
Lol thanks for sharing, lad. Hmmm perhaps you can get something your wife would like hahah
DJ Carlo Atendido hahah well my current controller was my birthday present 1.5 years ago from her, but it’s only since lockdown have I found your amazing channel and been following your tutorials that I’ve discovered lots of new ways for transitions and techniques, although most have been on your DDJ-400 and using Rekordbox DJ I’ve found it can be replicated on the Mixtrack, but I’m still on Serato Lite, which doesn’t give me options for the brake function when pressing the play/pause button and cross fader for scratching.
Good review as always. How do you think this competes with the ddj 400 as the premier beginner controller?
They're both good controllers! Just depends on what software you want to use :)
This man is amazingly talented in explaining……who knows his stuff…😊
Just trying to spread the knowledge here Chaminda!
I am not a beginner dj...but I did purchase one of these to use when I'm DJing at Spanish events. That more beat matching. Love the jog wheels and pitch control.
Gotta say, it's a pretty great controller!
@@djcarlo yes it is. So I obviously just tried it with the Serato DjLite....now I want to try it out with Serato Dj Pro. I downloaded the Dj pro 2.3.5 version but it's not reading my control. Am I missing something,m
I love the thought of this controller. Love the fact that have access to the effects on the controller. Is this compatible with Djay pro on a ipad?
I believe so! But I haven't tried it myself but it should work.
That was real helpful my friend. Sorry to ask, but if you had to compare this with the ddj-400 which one is better. Being a turntable DJ like myself looking for my first controller. Stay safe bro 👍
I love it so the player so much that I wish I could get it as my birthday gift by June 3... anyway like someone said right below the comment box it is not the player that is good but the person using it,,, YOU ARE THE BEST KEEP INSPIRING US GOD BLESS YOU FOR WHAT YOU DO,, CUZ U ARE DOING A GREAT JOB...
Hi DJ Carlo, thank you very much for your videos that help a lot. I follow your scratch videos and I love how you scratch on this Anderson Paak remix. Can you make a video tutorial to reproduce this scratch (scratch transformers)?
Which controller is best among numark and ddj 400. I face certain issues with the equipment as I'm CDJ user sometimes I mess up if I try some other players. The jog wheel of pioneer is like I can do anything but I get worse if I switch to try out something else. So please suggest does the jog wheel works fine like CDJs
Hey Carlo. I bought this controller and it's really cool! But for whatever reason I cont seem to get this controller into vinyl mode.
Is there a setting that needs adjustment in serato? Any help. is appreciated.
Thanks for the review. I really like the digital readouts on the jog wheels. I currently have the Pioneer SB2 and want to upgrade to something with slightly larger jog wheels like these and I like the dedicated FX buttons on this controller. Can you recommend a controller that is similar to this but a step or 2 above it in terms of features. Thanks again!
Check out my video on Best DJ Gear! It might point you in the right direction! :)
@@djcarlo thanks!
Is there a difference between this one and the Numark Platinum DJ model?
DJ Carlo, I haven't deejayed consistently in 20 years & need this in my life. This looks like a keeper. Does Serato Lite allow you to use your music from iTunes?
Yay! Thanks for watching! Apparently, not.
Hey, nice video! I'm thinking of buying this, because I want to start DJ'ing. Where could I buy this or isn't it released yet (when will it be released)?
I'm sure it'll come out soon! Standby!
Hey Carlo, great videos as always. Have you tried this controller with an ipad? Algoriddim? I'm curious to see if it works
I haven't! But that's an interesting suggestion!
So Did you try it with Ipad yet is it’s compatible?
I returned my SB3 for this. I figured if I was going new might as well get a fresh controller too!
Realllly!?!?! Good luck with your new controller!
@@djcarlo Thanks for all of the great videos! I started out with a Mixtrack Pro II in 2013 and wanted to modernize. I was stoked about the SB3 but also know those jogs on that new FX are great quality! And like you said, those effect switches are really nice in the middle. I won't be a scratch champ so it works for me!
How bad is this controller for scratching? Do you think I should get the ddj flx6?
Is it possible to set a 16-bar loop on a track, from this Controller without having to go near the screen ?
What is better - pioneer DDJ 400 or Numark mixtrack platinum FX? Thanks awesome video.
Depends on the software you want!
I have this controller. But where do you get the scratch samples from?
Good info, bro!
Thanks, man! Will you get this controller?
oh i just love scratching that sound
Thanks buddy! Hope you can learn more from my tutorials! What did you think of the review?
Started off with the Mixtrack Pro 3. Great for learners, although the loop and auto loop function was a bit confusing compared to the DDJ 400 I got next. Hopefully they improved that side of it. That aside, I'd recommend it to anyone looking to buy their 1st controller
Thanks for sharing your input man! I totally agree with you!
@@djcarlo loving the reviews, Carlo. Keep up the good work. Also keep the tutorials coming. Learned a hell of a lot from watching your channel 👍
I just started djing and Im currently using the numarktrack mixtrack platinum that came out in 2016 I believe. I really just started using it a couple months ago! Do you believe the latest version is worth the upgrade for a newbie?
Nope! Get something more professional!
Just bought these but stupid question how do you listen to the other track while the other is playing through the headphones so you know to mix ? Is there a way
I have a set of Reloop turntables and the numark scratch, but I use this a lot for smaller gigs where I don't have a lot of space or want to deal with bringing my decks.
Indeed! I do enjoy the feel of the Platinum FX and how convenient it is to bring around.
Mine arrived yesterday but the program Serato DJ crushed on me at the end of a mix still in the trail period if it happens again I will send it back
YOUR THE BEST BRO FROM PHILIPINES
I wish to be the best in the world!
Is the Denon Prime Go Dj Set coming or not ? : )
We shall see!
I think this Controller is perfect for my friend who want to buy a beginner controller!🙏🏻
It's perfect for a lot of people!
@@djcarlo Yes I think that too
Hi Dj Carlo, i have a simple question: how much big of a trauma Will be moving from a Vestax vci380mk2 to this, regarding the faders? I'm not a turntablist as good ad you but i like my faders smooth and responsive. You Say they are so but how they stand a ccomparison with Vestax? I'm looking into this controller because of the Rotary led on the screens. When i do jughling or scratch Is too hard for me to go back to the start point precisely. Thanks and big up!
Great concerns! I actually wouldn't recommend this one for scratching because the jog wheels are pretty heavy. The faders start out tight, but loosen up over time. Now the only thing is, I've never used the Vestax one so I don't have any point of comparison
Damn this is a beauty.
It truly is! Thanks for showing your support!
I know right? This dude looks hot af!
Oh... you were talking about the controller?
Hi I just get this controller. There are something moving and sounds like dropping a bit inside the both jog wheels when I am turning the controller upside down. Is it normal?
Hi, I’m getting a connection error when trying to use virtual Dj with the new Numark platinum fx mixtrack....any suggestions
Have you tried restarting factory settings?
Do a comparison of this controller to the pioneer DDJ 400. I just bought the DDJ 400!
The 400 is good! Hope you keep it!
Yeap I want this video for a review 😁
Yaaay! Thanks for viewing!
Can you get a USB turntable to use deck 3/4 with this and serato? I know you have to buy DVS and pro.
Hi DJ Carlo. Would you say the newmark or the ddj 400 is best for beginner DJ. Thanks 🙏🏻
Depends on the software you want!
Is this Controller works with Algoriddim Djay?
I’m curios if this can sync with iPad or is compatible Djay pro app Please if anyone can help.
Could anyone tell me how these compare with the Pioneer ddj-sb3 as these are the 2 i'm considering to use to upgrade from Numark party mix
I did a video comparing this and the SB3! Check it out!
Hey Carlo what is the background song playing at 0:22 ??? I love that beat ❤️❤️ please let me know
Oof, I can't really say because I got that one in a background music back. It didn't have a proper title so I can't tell you what it's called. Sorry!
Hey I’m pretty new to DJing and I currently use the NS7 2 which has ZLR outputs in which this one doesn’t. If I get this controller what wire or chord would I need to run my controller to my Speakers?
Uhhh this controller has only RCA outs :(
Can this be used with ipad pro and djay ai?
Bro are those 8 pads controls 8 samples or 4 only per channel?
hi carlos would u suggest this or the ddj 400, i hear good things about this controller, and i like the digital jog wheels but i have been seeing some reviews of people saying they can hear a whining type of sound sometimes, and this can be caused by poorly built electronics
have you ever had the issue with this controller?
None at all! This controller has worked perfectly for me. But, if you're a Rekordbox user, you can go for the 400. If you're on Serato, go with this one
please answer , my output L&R aren’t working on this controller , i bought this controller yesterday. I put the L&R cords in it and it doesn’t work. but for the other controller i have , it works .
This could be a cable problem or a routing problem... Good luck!
I just bought the 2016 Platinum now they come out with this lol
Hello, DDJ - 400 or Numark Mixtrack Platinum FX? :)
Question... Is the mic wired to the RCA outputs.. or does it have to be connected to an interface??
Nope! It's wired to the RCA outputs via an input on the controller itself. So no need for other soundcards or soundboards if you plan on using a mic with the Mixtrack Platinum FX :D
As someone who plays on an S9 and turntables or ddj Sr I'm definetly swapping my DDJ SR for this, I only use it for bars and corporate gigs and the paddle effects, tempo sliders and big jog wheels make it a game changes, got so used to the paddles that I can't go back to knobs, f that
Paddles for life bro! Nothing beats it!
Need Guidence, It is a great video but I want to know How to use beat fx like pioneer in numark ?
Whats about Scratch, i m new at Scratch, but i like a lot, can i use this?
Just curious which one would you prefer pioneer sb3 or the NuMark platinum ? Both are $250.. hope to hear from you.
Hello there! I got a review of them including the other two here: czcams.com/video/J5qJ05GPDuo/video.html
Can you plz do a Comparison on which controller to buy between DDJ 400 and Inpulse 300 and Numark mixtrack fx... It will really helpful
Good suggestion! Let's see what I can offer!
@@djcarlo Thank you!! It would be really helpful 😊
Is there a top notch in the middle of each eq button?
This will work perfectly good for me
Great! Go get it!
the Numark definitely packs the functionality in a small package but lacks the selection for output ports. Definitely on my wishlist.
Side note. Can DJ Carlo use it for some KPop EDM mix? I can provide a playlist 🙃
Good point you make there, but the controller is really for beginners, but I get ya!
Kpop mix? Sure send me a tracklist to askdjcarlo@gmail.com
Here's my selection for KPop songs that are I think perfect for mix
open.spotify.com/playlist/0YO3bvkMmRT2qZ9k8R8cky?si=MBjNCnj8Q8KguM8k4TLorQ
Ps. You're the coolest DJ props on being so awesome
Seems to offer a lot more for the price. You like it better than the Rev 1? Great review. I’m debating on the two.
Personally, I prefer the REV1 because I scratch. The Platinum FX has heavy jogwheels, so they're pretty difficult to use for my routines. Otherwise, this would be a better all around controller for everyday use
Can i use this as a regular mixer using 2 turntables? If not, is there any other model that you can recommend that i can use as a mixer that supports serato?
Nope! It won't work like that bud. Also, I recommend the Ddj 1000, 800, and prime 4
It looks cool, but definitely sticking with my SB3 which I should receive tomorrow actually ! :)
Nice video tho, I wish I had this to start with instead of my so old Hercules DJ Control Air+
That's still an awesome controller to use and have!
@@djcarlo You are talking about the Hercules ? Hm... The jog wheels are not so responsive, you can only activate 1 effect at a time, you can mess your session up with the MIX / CUE mode which is not easy to get at first glance, the cross fader has 0 resistance to it... And the Air infrared sensor fx thing is such a kid feature. But yeah I guess you can still find worse, but I'm at a time when I need to upgrade in order to get better. But you can still do some nice things with it, thats true.
I think first song is another version of “Come Down”. How did you get that song?
Get the songs via the links in the description! 😁
Could you do a review on new Numark Mixrack Pro FX, please...?
