Powerful message concerning God’s truth concerning homosexuality. As Followers of Christ, we don’t have our own opinion... just the unadulterated Word if God. Don’t take anybody word for truth. Study the Word for yourself!

    Romans 12:2 (New Living Translation)
Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
    Romans 1:28 (New Living Translation)
Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done.
A creation/creature should never put himself above his Creator.

Its your judgement that homosexuality is a sin, two people in love is not a sin, God never said any such thing.. Where in the Bible does it say, two of the same sex in a loving and committed relationship are sinning?
This is all gender based, male / female. What do you do with people born both sexes, intersex (AIS)? They were created by God, yet at birth, with your concept of the Bible, sin for the rest of their lives, no matter what they do. We know God does not create sin. This along proves your take on Cor, Rom, Tim is incorrect - homosexuality is not a sin.

“… Massive blazing glory exerts its gravitational pull on every piece of our lives” can u explain that in simply English ? I don’t get it. God’s glory has such a massive impact on our lives. Would that be right ?

As Christ taught, worshiping God in mind, spirit and soul, is the first Christian commandment and love of ones neighbor is the second. One should thus strive to respect the Holy Word of God using all one rational and spiritual abilities. This means reading scriptural texts in their linguistic and cultural context. Acute scholarship using the best available evidence available to us in our time is thus not only an option, but an actual requirement.
Based on this imperative it can be found that the Leviticus passages are referring to idolatrous worship of Canaanite fertility gods. Not loving, faithful and eduring partnerships - which in modern language (though typically not in times past) are referred to as 'marriage'.
Paul's choice of Greek words indicates (via the Septuagint which is the 3rd century BC Jewish translation of the OT into Greek) a direct reference to these passages from Leviticus. He is thus referring to specific kinds of idolatrous worship many of his day practiced in parallel with Christian faith. In the same context, but separately, he adds to this by condemning lustful behaviours - also condemned in the OT - whether sexual (opposite or same sex), greed, sensuality, etc. That same-sex attraction is not of itself lustful is now a common fact. This is based on regular experience, empirically based information, and a growing scientific understanding of sexuality as distinct from sex, is merel.
The above offers only an outline of deep(er) scriptural study. It is produced to the greater glory of God, and shows than the standard understanding that same-sex attraction is to be unilaterally ruled out is simply not scriptural. This supersedes previous interpretations precisely because lexical knowledge unknown in previous times, and the onrush of new empirically based knowledge, reveal more of the mystery of God's Word. (Should you balk at scientific evidence consider that, contrary to now defunct scriptural understand and official dogma, virtually no Christian believes the earth is the centre of the universe.)

Your English language is so deep and profound. However to understand the truth of God as a layman, the use of simple easy to understand English in your sermon is always the best sermon. Too many big words used. So it doesn’t serve the purpose.

"discerning", meaning listening to me, me, me, because I have 'discerned' EVERYTHING that scripture could possibly say about Romans, 1, and I'm right, right, right. Everybody else is wrong, wrong, wrong. Therefore my voice and God's voice are one and the same thing. Shameful

@Greg L David Gushee, who was once very conservative on this issue, until he met gay people and realized that was wrong, refers to this as 'selective literalism', - Who reads Timothy with all the lunacy about women as if it's THE WORD OF GOD and says, see here, see here, he uses THIS WORD which means..;...? There are all sorts of incoherent texts in the New Testament which cause all sorts of discussion. Because this one is about gays, well it just has to be taken literally, - you see, THEY REBELLED AGAINST GOD, That's why they became homosexuals!!! It's Crap!

@Greg L It's David GushEE - You'd do well to look him up. Try looking up 1 Timothy 2:11 - 15. Try convincing anybody that THIS IS THE WORD OF GOD, that this is God's TRUTH, because IT SAYS RIGHT HERE IN THE BIBLE. - It's called selective literacy, and the fact that they throw this baloney at gay people instead of anybody else, - like women, shows how hypocritical it all is.

You asked, Where does the Bible does it say two of the same in a loving committed relationship are sinning? Matthew 19:4 shows Jesus describing what a committed relationship looks like. Your argument for people with both sexes is called an exception fallacy where people bring up extreme examples when the most common occurrence of the situation is very straight forward. The Bible is very clear about this being a sin along with many other things being sinful like adultery, lying, stealing and etc.

@@tonyc2569 - It does not say anything about 2 in a loving and committed relationship - nothing.
A trio of Iowa-based religious scholars penned an op-ed, reminding readers that despite popular opinion, the Bible does not simply define marriage as between one man and one woman.
The argument against same-sex marriage is wholly unsustainable debate about marriage equality often centers, however discretely, on an appeal to the Bible. Unfortunately, such appeals often reflect a lack of biblical literacy on the part of those who use that complex collection of texts as an authority to enact modern social policy.
The Bible's definition of marriage can be confusing and contradictory. A primary example of this is the religious book's stance on polygamy, a practice that was embraced by prominent biblical figures Abraham and David. Various Bible passages mention not only traditional monogamy, but also self-induced castration and celibacy, as well as the practice of wedding rape victims to their rapists.
There are some people he may never be able to convince.
Many politicians have made a career out of using the Bible to justify opposition to hot-button topics like same sex marriage.
Those that use the Bible aren't necessarily interested in the truth or the complexity of the Bible. They are looking for one ancient sound bite to convince people what they already believe. Anyone who argues that "the Bible speaks plainly on one issue, especially something as complicated as marriage ... haven't take the time to read all of it.

Craig D ...I will have to respectfully disagree with you and the trio of Bible scholars on this topic. The Bible makes it very clear numerous times on the subject. It is so clear that a layman such as myself can easily understand this. We all have a tendency to pick and choose the things out of the Bible we want to embrace as the truth. I personally struggle with a number of things considered sin in the Bible, yet I accept it as truth regardless.

@@tonyc2569 - Of course you can disagree. Scholars disagree, and yes we pick and choose. The Bible is truth, the original that is as the Bible has been re and mis translation many times over the years. Thus the scholars disagree and we pick and choose which Bible is the 'real' one Changes in language complicate, one this that dose not change is God's love and grace. I have 6 Bibles, when placed side by side verse to verse they do not say the same thing. Its contest, and the history in the time the writings took place. God Bless

Craig D ...The Bible has been remarkably preserved in manuscripts, but I don’t think the translations vary on the essential theology on what C.S. Lewis called Mere Christianity. You are definitely correct when you say God abounds in grace as He has seen fit to save a filthy wretch like me. I have enjoyed our exchange and God bless you as well.
