Hey guys, just wanted to come back and say I've seen enough people give valid reasons to unstan groups because of fandoms, I don't completely disagree with unstanning a group because of the fandom anymore. I just think it's something to bring up and discuss because fandoms usually stain the reputation of a GROUP, and I don't think it's right to hold the group accountable for what the fans did, and I don't think it's fair to the group for someone to stop supporting them because of their fans. I understand leaving the fandom because of a group, but sometimes it seems really unfair to me that some people stop being fans of a group because of something the fans did.
Exactly! You can also stan a group without being a part of the fandom! People should learn to enjoy the music, the talent and not looking what the fans do or think

It’s disrespectful to both groups. Both groups have their OWN image and their OWN message and are working hard to be their own name and people can’t just stop linking them to (older) group.

if they’re from the same company, then yes a younger group is the order’s little brother/sibling. ie. bts and txt gfriend, twice and itzy or skz, mamamoo and oneus, bp and treasure, etc. no one means it as an insult.
I hate it when people hate on idols and then just say “that’s just my opinion though” like just keep it to yourself. If you know you’re going to say something that’s going to cause trouble, just don’t say it.
Know when your opinions is needed, and when it is not. Everyone has the RIGHT to their opinion, but they don’t need to always SAY them.

Loona Velvet I hate it when kpop stans say that the lead vocalists are way better than the main vocalists and that the main vocalists should be the lead instead or don't deserve their position. They will even go as far as to say that this X person is very stable on stage therefore, he/she is deserving to be the main vocalist. Why can't they understand that they're being disrespectful or rude? It's one of my biggest pet peeves about kpop stans, they are so annoying.
EXACTLY. People use this to say hurtful or rude things, if you have something mean to say, dont say it at all. Some people on the internet are so rude. They’ll then use the excuse “its the internet, i can say what i want. If you cant handle it, then get off”

I’m going to give an example: let’s say Julie and I r best friends. Julie starts making lots of others friends as well, which is fine, but her friends r being mean to me and r always harassing me and other ppl. But Julie doesn’t call them out, so thus I leave. Y am I leaving the friendship? To keep my mental health intact. I can’t avoid Julie’s mean friends bc they r all over social media and r always surrounded by Julie. Thus I leave Julie to keep myself safe. I can still love and wish the best for Julie but I don’t want to b associated w/ her anymore. *That’s y ppl leave toxic fandoms.* When I defended my religion, bc a big group disrespected it and got praised for it, I received thousands of dms of death threats and ppl buying religious books and objects from the store to burn them or destroy them on video to send it to me. They were telling me I should die or that they would find me and kill me. *Leaving a fandom bc of the fans r completely valid. My mental health will always come first.*
Edit: I should’ve been more specific. It wasn’t the group themselves who disrespected my religion but the music video company had inserted religious statues into their mvs that were blown up for “stylistic purposes”.

*If you yourself haven't experienced unstanning a group because of a fandom then please don't talk for others...am saying this from my personal experience....my army friends(ex-friends) decided to bully me and not to be friends with me just over a freaking bg cause I simply never posted about bts songs on my social media but posted about EXO... I am traumatized and I can't look back at Bts music anymore cause of that experience....a reason can be anything be it the fandom or the problematic action of the idols themselves...don't invalidate other people's reasons.*
I don't really want to get into an argument here, but you said "problematic action of the idols themselves." That's a different case, when the idols do something wrong and provoke the fans to do something horrible. I'm sorry about your trauma but that's also a bit of a different story because it involves mental health.
But I think the whole "unstanning a group cause of the fandom" actually makes sense tho. I unstanned blackpink cause of the toxic fandom. I have nothing against the girls of bp, their all amazing, talented, beautiful, successful women. But I guess once I thought about it, why would I wanna stan a group and be associated with being in the most toxic fandom. Anytime I would say ANYTHING related to bp, those blinks would ALWAYS come for me. I compliment Jennie (who was my bias) and lisards would start attacking saying "Ugh Lisa is way better at this" and bla bla bla. And Twice are my ult gg, so ofc I would post about Twice on my social media, but I still had blinks coming for me. "Rosè is way better vocalist then Jihyo". "Lisa is a better dancer than Momo" "blackpink have a better rap line that Twice" and so on. Some things they say like that, aren't true. And since blinks are the most toxic fandom, anytime i would defend my fave idols, people would say "not the blink talking". I don't really wanna be associated with that. I still listen to some of bp's music but other than that, I don't really keep up with them anymore
We need to talk about why TXT is still getting called "Privileged" and the "all MOAs are Armys" in 2021?? Like it's been 2 years.... The boys have made a huge growth comparing to 2019. Has a established fan base and now a lot of moas are NOT armys.

i think ppl say they "like everyone equally" to express that they like all members to a certain extent, so they don't dislike or not care about anyone in the group and appreciate all of them. but then they also have a bias on top of that that stands out to them. i think almost everyone has biases but more recently solo stans have done a real number on some fandoms (blackpink *CoUgH*) so ppl make sure to say that even though they have biases ppl won't think they're a solo stan.

Generally I agree, but I do also think in the kpop industry there's a lot of fat shaming and almost all idols are forced to do unhealthy diets so I feel like it's a very difficult topic. Bodyshaming obviously isn't good no matter why, but I'm talking more about calling out toxic standards and expectations and for some idols it is quite obvious that they had to starve themselves before and now are finally able to eat properly and thus are more healthy

If we're talking about things in Kpop we hate then I have to say that I don't like it when people don't appreciate visual members talents. For example, I really don't like it when people stan Astro for just the visuals and don't appreciate their talents. They're funny and are talented dancers but I feel like people only watch Astro to stare at Eunwoo. Don't get me wrong, he is gorgeous, but appreciate his talents and the other members too. I'm only saying this because I want to stan Astro because they seem funny but I don't see people appreciate them enough for their talents.
This is a totally different group but with Straykids Hyunjin, people most times only praise him being a visual then when they praise him for his talents, uh like some stays who are bias different members always discredit him for his talents or always point out something bad about his dancing so like I'm happy when he gets compliments about his visual because some hate when he gets complimented for his dancing. But he said he doesn't like when people only like him for his visuals but idk, this is all over the place but like recently people only like Hyunjin for his visuals😕

I sweeeeeaaaaaar to God the I unstanned x group because of the fandom makes zero sense. I had a conversation with an ex-army who said that and she was like armys are clowns. I asked why she just couldn't like not associate herself with them and not go on the social media communities and just continue to support them if she loved them so much. She just had no valid point.
It's fine if you don't like a group anymore, but saying that you've unstanned because of the fandom shows to me that you never really liked them in the first place.
I defended my religion bc a big group disrespected it, I got greeted w/ over a thousand dms. Those dms included threats, harassing me, bullying me, racist comments, telling me I should die,etc. the worst thing is that they would edit penises on religious statues to mock me. They would buy religious books and objects and destroy them or break them on video to send to me on social media. So yes, it’s a valid reason to unstan in order to stay away from a toxic fandom that can damage ur mental health.

I got a similar reaction when I voiced my opinion about a certain Mamamoo Mv where my culture was clearly appropriated.
@@iriiiriii I’m sry I should’ve been more specific, their mv had objects that disrespected my religion, it wasn’t the group who directly disrespected it, but the music video company. They still made a huge profit out of it tho. Nonetheless, the fandom harassed me nonstop for weeks. There were also many cases prior to this such as fans attacking me for preferring another members voice over others, fans attacking other ppl for simple things, etc. The fandom is what led me to leave, not the group
True, it isn't the artists fault that some of their fans are toxic and generalizing a fandom, especially a "large" fandom like ARMY is bs. I wonder whether these so-called fans are here for the music/artist or the fanbase.
Honestly personally i dont really like SOME armies because of how they sexualize bts with out knowing and treat them like babies. Sometimes its really hard to like armies because of what they do. I can see why someone would say "i unstanned bts because of the fandom" because if you go to concerts or meet in greets obviously your gonna see crazy armies and sometimes that can kind of be someones breaking point.

Bringing a group down is wrong, yes! but mentioning another group without having any kind of context or relation is like ignoring them and telling people to focus on other groups, and kinda respectless, like imagine opening a restaurant and everyone comes to your restaurant and just talks about how good another restaurant at the other side of the street is.

Some kpop stans don't even understand the meaning of *hate* and *disliking* . If you don't like a group that means you *dislike* them . “You’re not a real fan if you don’t stream”, i talked about this with my friend too but i remember seeing a bunch of atiny (i’m an atiny as well though!!) and majority of them were saying things like “if atz wins and you didn’t stream/vote, you have no right to celebrate with us. You contributed to NOTHING.” They then go on to guilt trip others and everything. It’s hard for me to stream while doing things especially because i more so need to listen to calm music and rarely listen to like fully upbeat music. Last year I was going through a rough moment in my life and I had a bad case of depression, I was harming myself and barely felt like i could get out of bed nor even do anything at all including watch videos. Whenever i saw those comments i felt like “oh i can’t celebrate because i didn’t do anything, i’m not a true fan”. None of that is true though? Without the fans who may possibly not be able to stream or vote the group would less likely be as known. Due to the size of the fandom they’re contributing to the group as well as the fandom grows in size by recommending to other people about that group. No one is any less of a fan for not streaming or voting and no one is any less of a fan for not being able to buy merch or albums.
Also I’m Korean and it makes me cringe whenever i see random people call random asians oppa or unnie. And then they like go onto adding the eu to the end of words which i was guilty of for a tiny bit because i saw so many people around me doing the same and didn’t think much of it at the time but i’m realizing now it’s really just making fun of the pronunciation? Even if it’s not the intention to do so they’re trying to learn a language they’ve never used before so ofc there will be errors within pronunciation but continuously using it and deeming it as “cute” or whatever is more so like putting one down and babying them just for not being able to pronounce something. And then i’ll just see random people putting omo who aren’t trying to learn korean/don’t know korean put it and it’s a little cringey?? I have an older brother so i have to call him oppa and it’s an honorifics thing. You don’t call random asian men or women oppa or unnie unless they’ve stated they’re comfortable with it or something. Idols don’t really have a choice with it though honestly.

To me. Bias means who your most like. Everyone has a different definition of bias. To me it doesn't mean favorite. Yes I have a bias in BTS but I love all member equally. Bias to me means who your most alike. Not whos your favorite. So yes I love all members. Bias means favorite to some people but not to me. So please keep your opinions to yourself. I can have a bias and still love everyone just as much. It may mean favorite to you but not to me.

I personally don't think that when people say they unstan a group because of the fandom means that they don't listen to the group anymore. Most of the people I uncountered who said that are still quote on quote fan of the group but don't interact with the fandom anymore. I think that's the difference between being a fan and being a stan
I don't look down on Armys or Blinks who ult the groups because they genuinely love their music, I look down on the people (in other popular fandoms too) who only stan the groups BECAUSE they're popular.
Especially if they don't even like their music. I have seen people like this.

But i hate when idols get into a scandal and fans try to back it up by saying "they arent usually like this" First of all how is that even proper reasoning. Everyone makes mistakes and they just have to be educated, apologize, and move on. Second, FANS DO NOT KNOW THE IDOLS, you have no idea idol's beliefs or stances on issues or how they act at all of camera so they cannot defend them what so ever.

Tbh,I don't care about Dispatch but I hate 2 things when it comes to them
1. When they talked about Hyuna & Dawn dating during Triple H's 'Retro Future' promotions which caused their comeback to be cut incredibly short
2. After Dispatch releases the couple,said Idol feels like their forced to confirmed if that coupling is right or not when they don't need to tell us about their personal life unless their comfortable with it
Also I hate whenever couples are released,the hate that idols get is terribly outstanding like when Taeyeon & Baekhyun came out as a couple tons of EXO-Ls bullied her for it and it made her cry at the airport
Honestly I hate 2 things the most.
1. When people literally say all kind of stupid opinions publicly, and then other idiots come to their defense saying that it's their opinion. If you know you can cause trouble with your opinion just don't say it. For example, I would like to punch all the people that say X idol didn't deserve to be in Y group, like wtf (i saw this mainly with iz*one and gidle and I would honestly fight everyone that says it).
2. When people think that the most popular automatically means the best (mainly applies to 3rd and 4th gen groups). I get that everyone thinks their faves are the best, that's entirely ok, but when you start creating fan wars because you are delusional enough to think that your group is actually "the best" even though numbers show a different side of the story, then that's bad. (An example of this is when people say "X group is 4th generation leader". This honestly annoys me so much, as people already know Stray Kids are 4th gen leaders, and is acknowledged globally, but people still seem to create arguments because they dislike the leader group or they think their group was done dirty. I ultimate stan Pentagon, and no matter how much I like them, I still acknowledge SKZ as the 4th gen leader.)

For example:

The “I unstanded x group cuz of their fandom” statement is a valid excuse. Don’t confuse liking and stanning. When you stan a group you keep up with their content and consequently with the fandom content, if the fandom’s toxic side shines so much you will certainly interact with the content they do, so when you don’t stan you don’t keep up with their content, and finally with the fandom content. No, the group didn’t do anything to me and it’s not their fault the toxic fans exists, that’s why I like them, I don’t stan them. Is it too hard to understand?
I just literally saw hate twts towards enhypen (w over 2k + likes) who kept saying they are privileged bc of bts 💀 some even said enhypen only got rotys bc armys voted and my jaw literally dropped like we didnt worked our asses off to be disrespected like that dam im so tired,,,and i used disliked armys but now being an engene i see how bts antis shits on bighit artist,, first it was TXT labeled as bts younger brother group and now Enhypen 🥴
People need to understand there is no universal perfect weight.
Everyone's body is different.
You have your own perfect weight.
Your own perfect weight depends on your age, your body shape, and height.
A 25 year old should not weigh as much as a 12 year old.
A person who is 6ft tall shouldn't weigh as someone who is 5ft tall.
Of course you may not ever stay in your body's perfect weight. But you can certainly get close it.
You don't know what your idol's healthy weight is. Because your idol's healthy weight differs from your body's healthy weight.
So you can't say oh "he/she looks healthy!"
"He/she looks unhealthy!"
Skinny doesn't mean underweight.
Being slightly chubby or having little baby fat does not mean over weight.

I'll be honest and say I do ship, but I don't go that far to the point that I describe them as gf/bf, bf/bf, gf/gf.
I'll use my user as an example, "minsung", yes its a ship name of minho/lee know and han/jisung from skz, but I only think they are a cute duo and team.
