This way hack is better than to glue a pipe where you glued a hole. You can vac/pres at the same time. Nice experiment Tariq 👍

Thanked friend Tarik Curtis now I can give another use the mini compressor. I have one just like it. From Caracas - Venezuela.

@Tariq Curtis Some tyre inflators don't have inlet valve. The inlet of air in to the cylinder is through space between the piston and cylinder as the piston moves down. How can this type of tyre inflator be converted to vacuum pump. Thanks

I did the same thing with a Tank-Less Compressor I got from the dump.
I had to use a glass jar as the vacuum chamber. I have a Powerstroke Diesel in my old van...need a suction pump to drain the HPOP Reservoir, or pay in the grands to repair.

A small vacuum generator device hooked to your compressor will save your compressor from destruction

Hi Tariq, congrats, so to summarize, basically, things made were:
    1.- remove the valve's spring,
2.-block the air input tiny hole (with some epoxy or something),
3.-replace the gauge with sucking hoze
is it that, or is the list missing something??

I have a portable Handy Vacuum Cleaner, which has the dual function of air suction & air blower.
I am interested in making use of it as a Car Tyre Inflator.
How can it be done & what adjustments do I need to make to it?

Interesting thanks for sharing. Do you think it would work as a vacuum pump if you just connected a small hose to that small inlet hole? You could attach it to the vertical part next to the hole and seal around the edges?

      @tariqstech  Před 9 lety +1

AirCommandRockets I Had already taken apart before I worked out a way to do that with this pump.
But think about it. just took the other option. but to be honest doing it the way you suggested if i found a way may of resulted in a stronger vaccum.

Why didn't you just tap a thread into the inlet hole and attach a small piece of threaded pipe to connect the suction pipe to?
Or even drill it round and epoxy in a small piece of pipe.
I don't think you would have had to change anything else and you could still use it as a compressor.

Hi Tariq, just what you are using the vacuum pump for. I'm thinking of making one using space bag while camping to reduce space on bulky items.

+Tariq Curtis. Thanks. I was curious how long it lasted for your use. and if it is worth to get more expensive air compressor with inlet filter and just swap out the input and output
Also. can you clarify.. when you put the plug back in at 5:06. you basically remove the spring?

I just finished this same exact thing and I am kinda bummed about the poor vacuum pressure. But I am not surprised since this pump model is cheaply made. I got another pump (black and decker air station) but I am unable to figure out how to covert it to a vacuum pump.

you will need a one way check valve,
I found one from a window washer pump from a car. that should stop the return on one side.

Shona O'Neill these are brushed motors. brushless motors need a control circuit to work and there isn't any circuit board shown here also if you look in that slot on the side of this style motor you will see the brushes.
