This Chef knows his stuff! Well explained. Looks so good 👍🏻. Thanks for sharing 😊
I like when you say “your” recipe because sometimes we are not open to different methods or ways. To me, cooking is chemistry and artistic creativity. Definitely will try your method.
Anything with a good gravy is 👌
I'm from Barbados so I never knew about adding coconut milk until I tried Renee's recipe two years ago. I shared it with my Trini neighbors and nobody complained.
I think because I used a wide shallow pan like hers, I didn't feel like I was working as hard as when I cook it in a regular pot.
My mother used to put it in a greased bowl, and the next day she fried whatever leave back#youthful memories 🇹🇹
Hey Ruth, we do this too - the frying part. I remember how crispy and crunchy it gets especially if it is sliced thinly. Happy memories! Thanks for sharing!
What an intelligent chef
I like to add pimentoes carrots and pumpkin also to my coo-coo and serve it with Callaloo,Stewed fish and a Garden Salad!! Great job!!👍

Well illustrated chef and the coo coo looking best.
🇹🇹 I didn't follow your recipe as I omitted the ochro but I followed your method and as you said "firm but giggly" which I refer to as " melt in your mouth". The cou-cou came out great so good you didn't need anything to go with it. 🇹🇹
I tried this. Excellent Recipe!!! Perfect texture and flavour. 👍
Very informative and descriptive directives. The best.
Food is so amazing well done ☺️👍🙌🙌🙌
Just how I like my coo coo👏🏾I put carrots in the mix though. I’ll have it with callaloo and stewed fish and ground provisions.

When did you put in the garlic ?
I know you mention it's the national dish of Barbados, thank you. But please don't confuse the two, Barbados cou cou is nothing like this. We like ours simple, okras, cornmeal, salt, water. The flavour is all in the gravy, whatever is your choice. Thanks again for the mention/history of the dish.
Yep there are definitely different versions across the Caribbean. Thanks for sharing 🙏🏾
Roku for my Coo-Coo :)

Yes, sometimes I do. When it's a large amount.
Never liked it as well as a child...and still don't.
