- Mr. Tudball (Tim Conway) is looking for a secretary, but his wife (Vicki Lawrence) doesn't like any candidates until Wanda Wiggins (Carol Burnett) shows up. This is the raw recording of the sketch, filled with bloopers and wild lines from the cast.

Vicky NEVER broke character. Everyone else was rolling on the floor and she just sat and looked at everyone. That took control! Lord love them all.

I love how Vicki gets the last laugh out of both of them-it looked like she was getting tired in the beginning and anxious to get the skit done, but she came back with the best line and tied the whole thing together. Looks like we missed out on who father Duffy was-perhaps the first applicant's former employer??? Funny shit!
This is brilliant work here and you can tell the script was just an outline for these guys and they just let their talent carry them. Isn't it just like Vicki Lawrence to play it straight while the other two go at it and then knock them both out when you think she's about to exit the skit...incredible timing.
I loved the Tudball and Wiggins skits. My husband and I use to play these characters, we had a ball doing them. He would call me from work and act like he was Mr. Tudball and call me Mrs. Wiggins. I sure miss him

I just saw Carol in San Antonio taking questions from the audience. She got a standing ovation as soon as she came out. She was amazing. Class from top to bottom.
As others have pointed out in their comments I just love how Vicky sits there and waits for the moment to strike. LOL
To make something a success, you need the right people. That's exactly what Carol Burnetts' show had. Also, in the 70s, i was a teen watching the show, and when i see the videos of Carol Burnett now, i see what a beautiful woman she was and is, now.
I really like Tim's Mr. Trumball character. His best line to the slow moving Mrs. Wiggins in a different sketch was, "I'm timing you with a calendar!"
I loved the Mrs. Wiggins/Mr. Tudball segments. Looked forward to them every Saturday night! Great Memories of the 70's. Thanks for posting this!
Vicki Lawrence has an incredible gift for timing.
At 3:40, Tim knew he had been had and couldn't control. To see someone make Tim break character from laughing is awesome. What a funny man. Can't wait to meet him in person when I get to heaven. R.I.P. Mr Conway

If one were to compile a list of comedy legends, Tim would be at the top. If you don’t laugh when watching the dentist sketch, you don’t know comedy. RIP Tim. Thank you for your gifts.
The dentist sketch is timeless, priceless, comedy at its very best. I return to watch it about once a week.

@@mattalbrecht7471 If you saw the Carol Burnett special back in '01, Showstoppers, it was explained that Tim Conway would do things off script for the sole purpose of getting to Harvey. I would have been dying of laughter, too. Yes, it was a gem.
The sad part is this kind of show can't be made today.

Our world has lost a great comedian in Tim Conway. The Carol Burnett Show had some of the best skits ever produced. The dentist skit is one of the best and now I find on CZcams they're releasing the full of skits including portions that were edited out for television. So far the ones I've watched are so funny I'm putting them on my Facebook page and warning people not to eat while watching them for fear they'll choke to death laughing!

This was one of the most brilliant shows ever. You never knew what was going to happen. And neither did the actors. If you were foolish enough to eat or drink during a skit you could choke to death. The level attained on her show has never been matched, though some have come very close. This was a pioneer show.

I watched this show as a kid and remember waiting for the exact moment Conway would jump track and leave the cast wondering what he was going to do. The elephant story is a perfect example. Tim started to ad-lib and everyone was like "oh shit!" here we go, and then Vickie dropped the perfect bomb.
She nailed him first in the elephant sketch and really got his goat in the second sketch with the line I'll.leavre.you two funny @### alone.both carol.and tim.cracked.up.totally.

I love when the camera shakes because the cameraman is laughing.
I love how even when there wasn't a studio audience in there to watch some of these sketches they recorded for the show, the crew members were laughing so hard that you'd assume there was a bunch of audience members in there watching the sketch live.

I love the elephant sketch (elsewhere on CZcams) where as he is telling this preposterous tale of Siamese elephants joined at the trunk. Carol Burnett and Lyle Waggoner are dead silent trying not to fall apart and Tim is cracking himself up with each new line. Vicki, as Mama, is stone-faced and expressionless. Finally, he pauses for a few, Carol tries to say a line, only gets out a strained "Mama", and Vicki says, in character, "are you sure the little asshole's through?"

What was the most interesting about this clip was that it was shot on one of those days/nights when they didn't have a live audience in there, and yet this incredible cast was able to make the crew LOL a lot.
This was from Carol's last show. Probably a dress rehearsal.
The guy's name is TUDBALL. One letter away from TURD-BALL
Once we heard that name and that outrageous Swedish accent
for the first time, IT WAS ALL OVER. We watched for Tudball
and Wiggins on every Carol Burnett show.

Of course he came up with the voice,.....at the last rehearsal. It Split people wide open! As a Minnesotan,...lots of Swedes,...he’s pretty accurate! RIP Tim!!!! And like Johnny Carson,....when the camera is rolling,.....his delivery,....his pauses,...his child like grin,...hit people with a roar of laughter straight from the soul!! Humor is truth with a smile,...Drama is truth with a frown. We are attracted to humor!! And truth!
I have yet to see one of their skits that didn't bring me to tears, forget the sides hurting, they are just hilarious!
I loved the carol Burnett show and Mr.Tim Conway as sooo many different people but when he did Mr.Tudball it was just the Best l love this show.as a little girl it was one of my favorite shows.
I think the only ones.left.now is carol and vickie l think l waggner the tall handsome guy l believe everyone else is dead.
But just one of the best show.!😢

BTW- This sequence shows you just how NOT milk-toast his comedy really is. He can lay down the dirty when needed very effectively.

The only thing that would further enhance the genuine laughet here, would be Harvey Korman's uncontrollable fits of laughter!

I grew up watching Carol Burnett with my parents and sisters and we all absolutely loved it. Along with All in the Family, The Bob Newhart Show and The Mary Tyler Moore Show--great memories!

Actually if you look at Vicki after Tim starts talking about the dwarf and the elephant being lovers you can see her laughing and wiping away tears. And when Tim cracks himself up she has to turn away because Carol's laughing right in her face.

Interesting fact -- Tim Conway modelled his accent not after the Swedish one, but rather, after his own mothers Romanian one. Although I suppose it evolved, as it most certainly sounds like an exaggerated Swedish accent.
