  • Here is the quiet and introspective “Ave Maria” by Italian composer, Giulio Caccini. There is some question as to the origin of the piece. It seems it was “discovered” by Russian, Vladimir Vavilov in 1970 and original sheet music showed it to be composed by “Anonymous.” Whether he composed it and did not want credit or discovered and arranged the piece which was subsequently attributed to Caccini is unclear. What is clear is that the very simple piece is quite beautiful.

A setting of Ave Maria written by Soviet (Russian) composer Vladimir Vavilov is often misattributed to Caccini. Composer V. Vavilov created this composition in 60 s, and published it in 1970. Due to the state anti-religious policy in Soviet Union, V. Vavilov could not name this composition as Ave Maria at that time. Only after collapse of the USSR, his name became known as the author of this creation. Later, for some reason, name of Caccini, has been claimed as the author of this Ave Maria.

What an amazing song & so well interpreted in duo Fluegelhorn.. Love it... Would be great if you could make a Brass Quintet Arrangement for that one.. I'd definitely buy it or become member of your Matonizz/Fennel website...

We will see what we can do about that. As to the other part, you really should actually go and see what we have available. It’s an incredible value, and we add titles constantly. www.matonizz.com/intro/

Thanks. Other than a few times just fooling around with a tuba, not really. I think most trumpet players are a bit neurotic about their embouchures and prefer to stick with their normal setup. I’m mostly just too lazy (or really too busy) to have time to tinker much.
