@@leslieduncan2405 begging no offence, but Freddie’s voice was a hit or miss. His range was definitely bigger than Steve’s, but his higher register was sometimes breathy and pitchy. In the 60s, 70s and 80s, music wasn't just about entertainment. It was about exposing and expressing our common struggles, joys, gifts and happiness as one. It was also our therapy. It healed us because therapy was only available to the wealthy, not the common man. It truly brought us closer together than any laws or political efforts did during that time. Today's music, for the most part, emphasis on 'MOST', is culturally disengaging.

I agree. I grew up with 70s and 80s music as the soundtrack of my teenage years. I think when younger CZcams reactors started discovering "my music," I realized that I'd been given such a gift growing up with that music and never realized I was living through history. I see Queen at Live-Aid, my very first concert was Styx, Journey, Foreigner, Madonna, Michael Jackson and on and on. It seems like yesterday, but also the lifetime ago that it was. That's part of the reason I like reactions, I think - it brings the magic back to music I've taken for granted most of my life. 🎸🎵🎙

As a child when video games first hit the arcades, I vaguely remember a video game with Journey's name on it. That has to be some sort of pinnacle, LOL! The funny thing is this, I was too young to be allowed to "touch the knobs" on the Hi-Fi (too funny to actually type that now) and my parents listened to country and easy listening, so I didn't even know about Journey at the time. Not until I got one of their greatest hits cassettes after they had already gone their separate ways did I realize how great they were!

I agree Michael! I was born in 1960, so most of my music listening was done in the 70’s. We had no clue back then that what was rock n roll then wouldn’t last forever. It seems like the more bands could do with the age of computers, the less they did themselves! Music these days with tunes that are “adjusted” by computers just don’t hold a candle to what I grew up with! Back then, there was a certain vibe that came with the whole rock n roll experience that simply doesn’t exist anymore. I feel lucky to have grown up when I did‼️

Neal Schon was a guitarist for Santana. He and Greg Rolie quit Santana. They founded Journey. Santana, Journey and I were born in San Francisco. I grew up listening to both bands.
40 years.🎂 Faithfully was released in 1983. Written by Jonathan Cain. He is on piano and synth.
Steve Perry was the lead singer. The lead singer now is Arnel Pineda. Neal Schon discovered AP on the Internet!
The late Prince called Jonathan Cain to have him listen to Purple Rain because he thought it sounded like Faithfully and didn’t want to step on any toes. JC said Purple Rain was inspired by Faithfully but not copied. JC gave a big thumbs up! 👍
    RIP Prince.
    Drums by Steve Smith. 🥁
Same year, 1983. Faithfully song sounds like Heaven. Written by Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance. BA needed a drummer to record Heaven. His drummer Mickey Curry was not available because he was required by a prior contract to play with another musician. Steve Smith happened to be in town, New York. Thus, Heaven sounds like Faithfully.
Suggested videos: 1 Steve Perry sings Foolish Heart 2 Bryan Adams sings Heaven.

The piano player wrote this song for his wife but unfortunately the marriage did not last. The call Steve The Voice. I follow approx 20 reactors and they all have said the same thing about todays music.

One of the best voices in rock Steve Perry; however one of the great guitarist of all time Neal Schon: A quick learner, he joined Santana at age 17, in 1971.Schon has said he was asked by Eric Clapton to join Derek and the Dominos, but that he joined Santana instead, performing on the albums Santana III and Caravanserai. AT 17!

They first performed this song in 1983 in Japan. Completed in 1982 written by keyboardist (Jonathan Cain) on a paper napkin on a bus ride to New York City dedicated to his wife, since he was always touring, but they all paid the price of losing their love because of the road life they lived.

out of all reaction videos that I seen on this song, a lot of them mind blowing emotional, you hit a point that is what I always think when I see peoples reaction to the song, ... there is really nothing now, like it was in the late 70s through the 80s , specially the 80s , I think that there was romantic man back then and as it was pointed out, he wish that he was born or live through it, I personally think it was pretty unique, I live through it and it was nothing like it, I even feel sorry for people who looking at it on old videos, and live now and in much more superficial era....In regards to Steve Perry, well, what can it be said, there was the Lionel Ritchies, Michael Jacksons, the Peter Cetera (chicago) there was Reo Speedwagon band, the super female voices Withney, Tina , Mariah, Donna S I mean the list goes on and on, is literally endless, put them all tighter and then on top was this man...no disrespect to anyone else.
