Family show is technical rehearsal before actual show (semifinal or final evening). When it is planned, some indie artists or local students are doing stand-in rehearsals. This is conception for winner performance after the end of final evening. Usually, artists are performing their acts and thereafter extras are hired. Since volunteers are then involved, they do not necessarily have to be completely familiar with the content of the performance and the song. These can even be people from the organization or crew assistants. - Hudba
Guys, this is not a stand-in rehearsal! We were volunteers, not professional doubles or dancers (I’m not in this video nor in the Norway one but I featured in for other countries in the green room). I suggest to change the title not to let others “keyboard lions” (as we say in Italian) comment on how unprofessional non-professional (did you get this point?) are.
Honestly, the level of hating for this production is unbelievable! Everything went smooth, the show delivered was on point and nicely staged. Some countries did and will do better? For sure! Have there been some mistakes? Yes, it happens, also in events like this, but let me tell you that the professionals that worked there really put all the efforts to pull off a nice and enjoyable show, so when you criticize talk about what was actually wrong, what you liked and didn’t like, but be respectful at least.
And, by the way: these clips you’ve been seeing around are *rehearsals*: things are meant to go wrong to improve and fix issues! Also, as I said in the beginning, those people on the stage are there just to simulate the timings (not even for the cameras actually, as you can see from Norway “winning” in the fake final, where the two steadycam guys were just dancing and having a laugh a bit after another day of hard work). It was not meant to be a mocking moment, absolutely! People there loved Serbian song and Konstrakta is a super nice person to share a word or two in the delegation bubble free time. Even one of the multi camera directors, Duccio Forzano, published a clip on its website showing what was happening in the ob-van (the tv truck) during Serbia’s performance: everybody clapping and following meticulously the camera cuts.
Again: it might not have been the perfectly timed and executed contest, but it was made by humans that believed in the project and I personally think that the efforts and the actual results redeemed Rai from Rome 1991.
For any kind of curiosity and question, I’ll be more than happy to share my experience with anybody, but please, express your thoughts, not your hate!
Ah, also: during the rehearsals, no artist wanted to stay after their performance, that’s why the green room was filled with stand-ins (us volunteers from Backstage Assistants and Delegation Management areas) and that’s why the “winning” performance was done by people that knew nothing about the performance. Only Måneskin (guests, not contestants!) got people from the dancers crew to replace them during the Jury and Family shows (rehearsals of the night before and same morning of the broadcast that are open to audience in site).
If Sweden had won in one of the rehearsals, you would have seen me as a typical Swedish girl onstage performing as miss Jakobs - great fan of her, I also learnt the coreo just in case!)
I've pinned your comment, since you have been the part of this event and described this situation at your best. My intention was not to make clickbait, but meanwhile we have learned something new behind the scenes. Title was adjusted to avoid "deaf phones" as we say in Serbian. And yes, it's commonly known that Italy was not guilty about kinetic sun and water flow, but executives of EBU have vetoed.

La Rai non deve scusarsi di nulla ne per l’edizione 1991 ne per quella del 2021... L’edizione 1991 è è perfetta così e se oggi andate a guardarla potete trovarla molto più gradevole e interessante di tante noiosissime edizioni (sopratutto scandinave) avvenute prima e dopo, non amo particolarmente le edizioni svedesi della SVT, invece, le edizioni della RTÈ irlandese sono in assoluto le migliori. Non è vero che se qualche idiota attacca un cartellino infamante all’edizione 1991 quella è l’unica verità. All’epoca la Rai fece bene a fare uno spettacolo tagliato principalmente per il mercato interno, non poteva buttare via un sabato sera in prime time contro l’agguerritissima concorrenza e l’Eurovision in Italia aveva pochissima audience, Toto Cutugno, all’epoca, era un personaggio di grande richiamo per la TV italiana del tempo e unica pecca è stato il non essere fluente in inglese e francese durante le votazioni. Poi Mr Naef si comportò in modo assolutamente sgarbato (i suoi sono gli unici momenti sgradevoli dello spettacolo) Per quanto riguarda l’edizione 2022 il fatto che i fandom tossici siano stati limitati nell’accesso agli accrediti stampa, l’esclusiva a Tik Tok dei primi “Rehearsals” e la progettazione del palco che la Rai ha commissionato ad un’azienda italiana togliendo l’appalto a quei tedeschi che lo facevano da 6 anni o più, hanno certamente inviperito non pochi soggetti... le critiche erano preconfezionate già prima di partire con le prove e gli spettacoli, i detrattori si sono scatenati ad orologeria e tanti altri hanno seguono questo modo stupido e stereotipato di fare critiche alle quali nemmeno vale la pena di replicare. Un atteggiamento contro l’Italia e gli italiani che risulta facile perché noi glielo permettiamo... non si fanno il minimo scrupolo ad essere vergognosamente arroganti, insolenti e menzogneri, arrivano a dire cose talmente assurde e improbabili che davvero è inutile prenderli in considerazione... una tizia che si auto definisce esperta è arrivata ad affermare che i nostri ledwall erano bassa risoluzione, un qualcosa tipo “primo prezzo” c’è da ridere... e poi nemmeno sanno o vogliono sapere che il carrozzone annuale di Eurovision si avvale, essenzialmente, della stessa organizzazione di giro, dello stesso nucleo organizzativo, tecnologico e logistico che sembra essere un gruppo di lavoro e aziende svedesi, danesi, tedesche etc etc etc e in più, quest’anno, con l’apporto italiano... quindi le critiche contro l’Italia sono campate in aria e preconfezionate

Stand in rehearsals has evidently always been a great training experience for local students and performers. Italy could have even let on Sanremo newcomers who didn't all perform at Ariston this year, because they had to qualify to be just 3 of the 25 entries this year. What did Rai do this year for rehearsals? Let these people fanny about.
EDIT: Oh, it's a reprise rehearsal, a la La Forza and Stay. But from other rehearsals, it still makes me wonder why for none of the rehearsals that they didn't let anyone practice with singing into microphones, which has been done, year after year.
I agree for the most. Many talented people who can reach their opportunity for their specific performance can be known to the certain audience. In case of this year, we did not see anything else noticeable, except as somebody said, stand in rehearsal for Chanel, but; there is still no recording with performer singing, just playbacks, which is really pitty. My opinion is that Sweden and Netherlands had amazing vocal indie performers, but yet I have to discover.

Only one thing is unclear to me from the title: were there separate stand-in rehearsals for the family show, jury show and for all other real performances, not just one stand-in rehearsal?
Artists had performed and this was testing voting rehearsal with volunteers, so it is the concept of winning performance.

What's the meaning of this 🤔?
Stand-in rehearsals are purposed to sketch presence of artists and setup on Eurovision stage and it's prepared for a month before contestants go to host country. This was actually technical rehearsal for the final evening, which is the part of Family show. As I understood, after this, artists also have their own technical rehearsal too.

I agree with you. Even if this is a stand in for camera angles, it is distracting to have someone being awkward and uncomfortable about what they are doing. If I am in the Serbian delegation and need this material for me to take appropriate decisions on staging, I think the stand in should try to recreate the mood of the song. Konstrakta's performance is all about this neutral seriousness, which was not present here.
Videography was so much better in Belgrade it followed the lyrics and the tension of the song here was just meh.

Namena skicirajućih proba je da pevačima se pokaže kako će njihova postavka i koreografija izgledati na evrovizijskoj sceni, da ne bi dolazili mesec i po dana ranije, nego dve nedelje pred finale. Ovo je bila tehnička proba na dan finala. Ana je pre ovoga imala svoju generalnu probu, ali statisti su bili tu za slučaj ako Konstrakta pobedi na primer, jer verovatno su Italijani računali na to i onda je snimljen pobednički performans za In corpore sano.

Ne miko, ovo se radi da ne bi svi dolazili mesec dana ranije i pravili trošak, nego nađu volontere da budu tu, čisto da se vidi gde će pravi pevači da stoje i kako to izgleda na evrovizijskoj sceni. Snimak je sa tehničke probe pred finale kada osoblje proverava da li sve radi.

Watch the Spanish one. Also it seemed to me that the conductors took their role very seriously, and if it weren't for the half-destroyed kinetic sun, they also worked hard for the stage and staging. When will people stop shooting random grudges? Were there any ESCs more wanted by the host country? Yes. But that doesn't mean everyone else did it as a joke.
