    The first time I went to Miami, we left there and stopped in Key West for a day. Before going back to the room, I bought two slices of Key Lime Pie (my favorite!). I went back to the room, showered, put on my night gown (even though it was early), then sat down and ate those slices with my eyes closed almost the entire time. It was SOOOOOOOOOOO Gooooooooooooodddd!!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

It was meant to be a very tart custard with a sweet fluffy meringue. Many pies of today are too sweet. Just thought I would share.

      There are two styles to Key Lime Pie. The traditional Key West style is closer to lemon meringue, with a pie crust. The Miami style, which was invented by Joe’s, is more of a cheesecake texture, on a graham cracker crust. I much prefer the Miami style. Full disclosure: I probably ate a thousand slices during my fourteen seasons as a waiter at Joe’s.

    It's been 10 years since the last time I went to Cuba. Covid is making my return difficult, but God willing, next summer I go. Why? Because I want my children to breathe, live and eat a la Cuban style. Those guava pastelitos are my favorites. My children ask me why we fill everything back in the island with guava and coconut. Well, with strawberry and apple it can't be because Cuba is in the tropics! Right? 😂
    We do not live in the USA, so traveling back to Cuba is the only change we got to do things a la cubana!...Also, what the heck is that of "Cuban bread"? Listen you guys, the Cuban in Miami had come with a lot of recipes made up in their new land that actually does not exist in Cuba. Trust me! Those things doesn't exist in the island, at least after the revolution that was when I was born!

    The ads on CZcams are getting pretty aggressive. It’s starting to have the opposite effect of their intent on me. The more they try to bully me into paying for their premium version, the less likely i am to give in. I know this has little to do with the content of this particular video, but these longer form videos seem to have more frequent and jarring breaks, and there’s also no other public forum on CZcams for commenting on this. I understand that content creators get some form of revenue from ads, but why would they want them to break up their work in such an unflattering and unartfull way? As a user of a free service, i am willing to watch a few adds, but this is getting ridiculous.

    • @moniquem783
      @moniquem783 Před 3 lety

      I agree. There’s no way I’ll pay for their service after the disgusting bullying. I often get 10 ads in total on a 6 or 7 minute video. And so many of the ads are enormous. Not just 15 seconds where you’d go meh, whatever, but a minute or two minutes or three or four or even more! There’s a 15 minute ad that I get fairly often, and I’ve had two different ads that were each an hour. They don’t even have the decency to put the long ones at the end. They throw it in the middle of whatever you’re watching. It’s just rude.
      The other thing that’s really annoying me is that every now and then a little box will appear with a thumbs up and thumbs down option. It completely ignores you if you click the thumbs down. It says thanks for the feedback, but keeps showing you that ad.
      Btw, you can tell if the uploader has chosen to put them there or not. If they were placed by the uploader, you’ll see a little yellow dot in the red progress bar.
      And then there’s my algorithm. Perhaps I have eclectic tastes and it can’t figure out what I like, but damn it’s bad! A month and a half ago I looked up how to cook duck, because I had duck I wanted to cook. I’m still getting duck recipes. But if I dare to miss 2 videos by a channel I’m subscribed to, it wipes it from my recommendations.
      I’m close to giving up altogether.

I grew up in southern Miami and there were still a few shops that made it the old way, labor intensive but so good! I think that way was thrown out for the speed of sweetened condensed milk. Most people use regular Persian limes when making Key Lime Pie. It is a pity Paul did not explain that Key limes are only grown on the Florida Keys but he did say they are different in size, texture, and taste than Persian limes. The pie he made is nothing unusual and while I was born in England I now live in Toronto, Canada, and make one every month exactly as he did and sometimes I can even get Key limes.

    Most of the super cars in Miami are rented. Pure optics.

    The trouble with Miami is that it seems to be perilously close to Mar-o-Lago.
    Glad to see Paul and the locals eschew chlorinated chicken and hormone stuffed beef. No wonder they want to send that crap here.

    Love the show. But just recently noticed that annoying, repetitive guitar riff that plagues every transition scene. Could the producers tone it down a bit? Lol

    Sorry but south beach is not the heart of Miami. Brickell is the new South beach. Or travel a little bit up north to las olas. South beach now is overrated. Is not like it use to be.

    Paul, take the leap in obeying God by giving up lard and pork and alcohol. Also there is no such thing as a goddess. Only One God Exists and God Is Always With you, Seeing you and Hearing you. After death you will Meet God. I ask Dear God humbly to Bless you and your family.🌻🍄🍓🐣🐚🌈🌹🍎🍁🍋🥀🥀🦋🥒😊🔥🍿🌼🍇🍐🐰🌷🌸🍊🌺❤️🕌❤️🕌❤️
