    I love aquarium snails and needed a place for the extra snails I have. I put them in a gallon of water with the declorination drops. Then I set them in a sunlit window. Within 3 - 4 weeks, I now have beautiful bright green water and very happy snails. When summer comes, I will make sure they don't get too hot. USA

    Algae is helpful for aquariums, but is very unsightly, it would be better to use live plants.
    Also, the reason why the fish pellets help grow algae, is...
    Any uneaten food in an aquarium will dissolve and turn into nutrients for algae to thrive. direct sunlight will help the algae rapidly multiply.
    That being said, it would happen directly in a container, like the one he was using, in the video, make sure the you let the water sit before adding the fish tank water, your tap water contains chlorine, which will kill any living organisms such as algae. Some fun facts, and clarification.

    Greetings from Mindanao! Sir, I'm a newbie in fish-keeping and I would like to ask some questions related to the topic that you have discussed in this video if it's okay with you. First, is it safe to add large amount of green algae (like a whole bucket of green water) into my trapal pond with fishes already inside? Second, do green algae thrive after you put it in the pond filled with fishes? Thank you in advance and I hope you make more videos like these to help newbies like me. God bless!

    • @leop1009
      @leop1009 Před 2 lety +1

      I think it is probably safe for your fish. There might be some leftover waste products from the fish food you used to create the green water if you used the method in this video to create the green water. But if your pond is big enough it should not matter as much. And if your filtration is good enough it should be removed from the water pretty soon.
      I'm not sure if the green algae will thrive in your pond. It really depends on a few things. If your pond receives a lot of sunlight during the day it will grow more than if it doesn't. It also depends on what filtration you have, if you have good filtration in your pond the nutrients from your fish' waste will be reduced more and thus lead to less algae growth. It also depends on your fish, larger fish will produce more waste than smaller fish and having more fish will also lead to more waste.
      I hope this helps. :)
