      This seems like a different variant because it infected dairy cows and only has the receptors we share with dairy cows, which are in our eyes, not respiratory receptors. This variant is easily aerosolized into human eyes when milking machines are used.

      @@oOo..902 Were anti-virals available to the people in the past, if they were lucky enough to be properly diagnosed? What variant of bird flu did they have, since the virus mutates over time and species. That makes a difference in why there was a high fatality rate in the past and not in the last three known people in the US to have acquired a form of bird flu.
