The Yorkshire Dales

In this weeks video I'm joined by good friend Richie and were taking our ADV bikes into some of the tougher trails across the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park.
It certainly felt like summer had arrived, once the early morning mist had burnt off.

Another great video, didn't have the very first part of your second trail which is the bit I'm im interested in. Making the transition from the road at the end of the reservoir top on to the trail; the first 5 or 600 yards looks very loose and steep, I chickened out the last time I was up there. It looks like the rewards are good trail and view wise so I may give it a go next time I'm up there. Enjoyed your video as always, keep 'em coming, but only for as long as you enjoy making them.

Thanks Mick. That section you refer too isn't that loose. It's very bumpy and can be busy with people and so on. It's quite steep but not really that challenging - one if those where it looks worse than it actually is.
The tricky bit is after the water, you pop through a gate, turn right and then you're staring at Dead Man's ascent.

Well done on Deadman's mate... made it all the way up in one go this time! It really is hugely steep, if I come up again, I'm def not wearing heavy/hot adv clothing for it again! 😀

Always welcome anytime, mate and yes, definitely pack the trail gear for sure. The heat just socks the life out of you - I think that's why we ended up so tired.

Summer Lodge is the name of the farm at the bottom of the hill rather than the name of the trail. You ride past Summer Lodge - I think they do holiday let's there too. Stunning part of the Dale's

As usual the gopro doesn't show the true gradients but you both looked well knackered at the end . It must have been very hard going

Thanks Kevin. Yes, I was tired by the end. I think it was also a combination of heat as well - the first hot one of the year. I'd drank 2lts of water from my bladder pack and my flask at lunch time.
