  • So, through some elaborate set of circumstances, you've decided to apply to Fordham University. But alas, you still have yet another decision to make in the college selection process. Because -- and we don't know if we've emphasized this enough in our admissions materials -- wouldn't ya know it, Fordham has TWO campuses. So which one is right for you? Lincoln Center in Manhattan, or Rose Hill in the Bronx?
Please enjoy this comprehensive guide comparing the two campuses, because, for real, Stove's Cabin Crew, Fordham at Lincoln Center's comedy club, is the first organization to produce a video on this subject.

I attended Rose Hill 1973-77 and my dad Pharmacy Rose Hill 1948-52. He was not Catholic back then and even then there was no animus if you weren’t Catholic. Because the Bronx back then was heavily Jewish, there were many, many Jewish students simply because it was convenient in their backyard. When I attended in the 70s it was at the closing end of the counter culture, so there was acceptance of anyone and everyone. Can’t speak to how it is now but the welcome mat was always out to anyone.

I heard that one reason they closed the School of Pharmacy was that it was more expensive to run and most of the graduates were Jewish? (Gabelli Class of 1980.)

I graduated in '64. I was on my way to the U of FL to study marine Bio when my senior advisor told me I was making a big mistake. He told me that I didn't have the make up to be a scientist and should pursue Liberal Arts. However this was now May of 1960 and I told him How was I going to do that? I went to school at a small private school who had a Yale Phi Beta Kappa on Staff who had all kinds of connections so the next day my senior advisor tells me I had an interview the following Tuesday at Fordham with the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts. When I met with him he simply said you have several choices: You can go to the school of Business, Pharmacy, Education or as Dr. Abel and I discussed the school of Liberal Arts. So I said I guess I'm going to the school of Liberal Arts and he said Good choice. Charlie Tagliareni FCRH '64

Kate I don’t go here, but I’m going to be applying. I think that many Fordham students take classes at both campuses, and there’s a Fordham Ram Van that brings Fordham students into the city.
