THIS is MY Fav for full size Chevys...HOW could you not want this Gem.I am a '61 but I do not have the get up and go this baby does.
love the style and detail these old classics have
I could be mistaken, but I thought the SS Super Sport package first introduced in Feb.1961 came with the 360 hp 409 as the only engine option...Chevy's first real "muscle car". Those bubble tops are gorgeous cars. The tri-power 348s were great with 280 hp with the 9.5:1 pistons and 350 hp with the hi-performance 11.25:1 compression option. You can't lose either way!
Dave Smith You could order either the 348 or the 409. Just depended on what you could afford.
409 were a option in the spring of 1961
You are right . 1961 chevy impala.s ss had 360 hp with a 409.
'61 Impala Super Sport base engine was a 305HP 4bbl 348. Several other 348s followed with 4bbls, 3x2s, up to 350HP. Any of these engines could be optioned in any other full-size Chevy. The 409/360HP was exclusive to Impala Super Sports.
Awesome 61 impala SS 👍🏼😎
love the tail lights on these
You want to sell that car, take it out and smoke the tires for the video
I had the 1962 Chevy Impala hardtop convertible.
Why did you fail to mention the dual master cylinder when you were pointing out all the "original" parts?
I noticed that as well. If you're going to sell this type of car DO YOUR HOMEWORK there are a lot of us old guys that know what is going on.
Exactly
Bubble tops did not come with b pillars correct?
Valve covers & air cleaners definitely not stock but who cares, it's that WOW factor. IMO Pontiac's stock "Tri Power" bigger individual carb air cleaner setup has better looks. Any other Old Timers out there remember only Impalas ('61) had the 4-bar tailight trim pieces? I put them on my Dad's '61 Belair.
we never went to the moon
It was my. Believe that all SS cars came with bucket seats
Too bad it wasn't a 409
Nice.
Beautiful how much ?
Better put a beach boys 409 in that bih
Looking for a 1961
Bubble top Chevrolet implacable super sport, black and red and white interior, 285 engine
How much are you asking?
what is your daily car???
We went to the moon?
the late 50's/60's was the time to futurify a car. Like every thing else, we just don't do it well today. our cars look like bugs and have for some time. And many stink like sulfur when slamming down the gas. something cars NEVER did back then under load. This looks like Flash Gordon's joy ride. But I think the 1959 looks better! just an opinion.
I don't think its a true SS
